Matthew swallowed past the lump in his
throat. “You know you'll have to give her back eventually.”

Steven and Luke looked at each other and
shared a knowing look. Luke said, “Oh no, she can keep her for a while. Daddy needs some
sleep.” Steven nodded.

“Give them back their baby so we can go
home and practice making one of our own,” he whispered in her ear.

Vivian smiled up at him, her eyes brimming
with unshed tears.

“Take me home, Soldier Boy.”
