Chapter 1

“Jenny, there’s someone in the front. Take care of it, would you?” My boss Nela yells from the kitchen.                                                                                                                                                            Nela is baking a new order of pastries and at the moment is too caught up in the routine. She is good at baking; she enjoys it a lot so lately she has been keeping busy baking pastries. I don’t blame her; everyone loves sweets especially the home made ones. She makes them in a way that once you take a bite, you would want more. The Delicious bakery is known for its merits and has the best reputation in the Greater Toronto Area.  Everybody comes here to buy sweets especially the chocolate fudge. The way Nela makes it; it’s not only delicious but mouth watering. I don’t know what she puts in it but once you take a bite, you will always want more. The fudge apparently is a strong weapon if you want to spice things up in the bedroom. If you ask me how I know about it I’ll tell you... I read this article on the Cosmopolitan the other day talking about how to spice up your sex life. As I was reading through it my eyes widened when the fudge cake was brought up. Apparently the fudge spices up things in the bedroom and it makes the guys lose control. I don’t know what to make of it since I’ve never used fudge in the bedroom. It’s been quite some time since I had sex and when I did, we never used fudge cake during the process. Thank God we didn’t because when I think about my ex; I want to strangle him to death. He was bad at sex and a qualified jerk. Now back to the fudge cake. Can you imagine fudgeing with a sexy guy in bed? Swoon!

I exit the kitchen and start walking towards the main counter. Today is quiet compared
to the other days but I’m glad because since I started working here two weeks ago, all I seem to be doing is running up and down the stairs like a headless chicken. Last time I went to gym with Laila she took me against my will and threaded to never talk to me again. She is my best friend; I can’t stay a day without talking to her. That’s how she manipulated me by falling into her trap. She is evil! I start running on the treadmill like a mad woman. I start pressing buttons to go faster and as I accelerated my legs started losing control the faster I went. Let me tell you that didn’t go very well because I lost  balance and fell off the treadmill right on my ass. Really, who does that? When I got up on my feet I see a sexy guy looking at me and smiling.
Smiling!
I felt so embarrassed that I started running far away from him as fast as I could. Since then, I haven’t stepped a foot there again and Laila never brought up the subject for discussion.

“Where the hell are you? I’ve been waiting here for a
lmost five minutes. Move it, I don’t have all day.” A harsh male voice yells at me. I look up to see who dared to talk to me like that. This guy is not just sexy, he’s breathtaking. His dirty blonde hair is messy in the front like he just woken up and didn’t bother to glance in the mirror. The black leather jacket and the blue ripped jeans fit his model body perfectly. He is probably six foot three with the most beautiful hazel eyes I have ever seen. Why the sexiest ones are always jerks? Why can’t they be nicer? It’s my first time seeing him in here. How could I have missed him? Where have I been when he was around? Ugh. He is so hot, I think I am going to faint by just staring into his eyes. “Can I help you?” My voice comes out exactly like I didn’t want to. Shaky. He looks at me and starts examining every inch of my face. Okay, now he looks like a total creep. “Sir if you want to make a complain please write a letter and put it in the complain box. Thank you.”  His hazel eyes look at me like they want to eat me alive.

“Is that right? Since I don’t have a pen and paper you ar
e going to be the one that will deliver the message for me.” I look at him completely shocked. Why do you have to be so gorgeous and rude? This way it’s extremely hard for me to know what your intensions are. “I don’t think that would be possible. If you want to complain, be my guest.” He looks at me and rolls his eyes. His facial expression it’s still angry. He takes a harsh deep breath and just like that my heart starts racing in double beats. What is it about this man that is making my skin prickle...?

“I don’t want to argue with you. I just want my order.”

“What’s your order?” I ask calmly.
There’s no need to be mad at him. He’s a costumer that is probably having a rough day, a very bad one by the looks of it. He takes the receipt out of his pocket and throws it on the counter for me to take it. Even though I’m being nice he isn’t changing his attitude. Jerk! I grab the receipt and look at it.

Holy shit, he’
s ordered a fudge cake! My heart drops on the floor and I can’t seem to pick it up anymore. My hands start shaking and cold sweats start to run down my forehead. My imagination starts going bananas as soon as I see the fudge cake. All of my brain cells are fried. I head into the kitchen, in search of a fudge cake within the refrigerator
.
I look at it like it’s holding a secret that wants to be unleashed.

What is your purpose?

There is no answer except only for a long pause. Fine then, don’t tell me. I’ll ask him myself. I start heading to the counter where the bad boy is waiting. When I arrive he is talking on his phone. His back is turned to me and he is looking outside the big window. I can’t hear what he is saying but I can see his shoulders are getting tense. I decide to busy myself with something else because staring at his back won’t pay the bills. I grab the wet towel and start cleaning the counter. I wonder to whom he is talking; maybe it’s the lucky girl who’s going to get fudged by him. Lucky, lucky girl! Why can’t this one come to me?

“Alright, where is my order?”

I finish cleaning the last part of the counter and throw the towel back to where I found it. When I look up at him he is looking at me like a predator that is ready to strike. I pull my guard out preparing myself for whatever is coming.

“Your order is right here.”

Well, it’s not quite here. It’s under the counter. He looks down but when he sees there is nothing, he turns his hazel eyes back at me.

“Where did you put my cake?” He asks annoyed.

I start playing with my hair enjoying this little show. He however, is not enjoying this at all. I wonder why he is in such a rush to get to his destination. I don’t mind him sticking around; he is quite charming and sexy.

“If you want the cake then you must apologize. You were mean to me.” I ask in a very lady like way.

“Are you kidding me?”

“Do I look like I’m kidding?”

“Who the hell hired you? I should write a complaint about you.”

“Really, it’s up to you. If you want the fudge cake you must apologize first.”

He throws his hands in the air and shakes his head. Even when he is mad, he still looks so damn sexy.

“I’m sorry whatever your name is. Just give me my cake.”

I look at him and shake my head in a no-no-no way. He raises an eyebrow waiting for me to strike.

“Apology…
accepted.”

I bend down and grab the cake. As much as I don’t want to give it to him for giving a shitty apology, I have no choice. I put the cake on the counter and I push it towards him. He takes it and inspects it. Jeez, can you make it more obvious please! It’s not like I’m here or anything.

“I just want to make sure. That’s all.” He winks at me, making me angrier.

Did he just inspect the cake because of me or because he’s afraid I put something in it? He really is a pain the ass. He looks at me for a last time and smirks like nothing is wrong, like everything is perfectly fine and in these fifteen minutes we did not just kill each other with our eyes.
He takes the cake and starts walking out. Before he exits the store he turns around and smiles at me. My heart almost jumps from my mouth when I see his straight white teeth. I see him walking away holding the fudge cake carefully in his hands. The bastard smiled at me. Who would have thought his smile would be so contagious? After he disappears from the sight I turn around and start walking back to the kitchen trying to forget his beautiful smile.

Chapter 2

The next day I wake up on
the wrong side of the bed, grumpy as can be. Last night I couldn’t stop thinking about hazel eyes. His gorgeous face and the beautiful smile has somehow, got right under my skin. Never in my entire life have I met someone like him; carefree, rude yet completely irresistible.

“Get up sleepy head.” My brother says as he enters my room.

“Have you heard about knocking?” I ask annoyed.

He rolls his eyes at me in a completely not caring way.

“I have to take mom shopping. Do you need anything?”

“No I’m good.”

“Okay. See
ya.”

He slams the door so hard, that the window rattles
. I hate when he does it. I tell him every time to not slam the door, but will he listen? No. But of course no one listens to me; it’s like talking to a brick wall. I get up from my bed and unplug my phone; it’s fully charged. I unlock the screen when a message comes in. It’s my best friend Laila:

We’re going clubbing tonight. XOXO

She always does this to me when Friday kicks in. She knows how to have a good time and sometimes I envy her. I desperately want to fit in her party bubble but I just can’t. It’s not because I don’t like parties, it’s because I don’t like to party twenty-four/seven. I begin typing the answer knowing how much she would not appreciate it. I’ve been turning her down for almost a week now.

Sorry, can’t g
o. X

I hit the send button and I put the phone back onto the bedside table. I head over to my closet, trying hard to ignore the thoughts that are bombarding my mind.

Why am I still thinking about
him?

I should hate him for
being a jerk but no, instead I’m having all of these hot, steamy, sexual fantasies about him.

Why can’t he just leave me alone?

I open the closet and I stare at
it. Today the sun is out and by the look of it; it’s going to be another hot day. It’s mid August and the weather is perfect. This is a first since at this time Toronto is usually flooding under the stormy weather. Canada is famous for its bipolar weather, it’s in great competition with the UK.  I grab my work uniform and put it in the bag. The first day I started working at Delicious bakery Nela gave me my uniform, a pair of black pants which fit me perfectly and a white oversized t-shirt that says Delicious in the front with big bold letters. Most of the times I like to wear it so I don’t have to change once I get at work. Today however I don’t feel wearing it because I have something else in mind. I grab my favourite flounce skirt and my Jim Morrison t-shirt. I mean there is nothing wrong dressing up even though I’m heading to work.  There is nothing wrong with dressing up especially when you have the highest of hopes of seeing that someone show up when you aren’t expecting it... But I’m ready, I’m prepared.
