Chapter 7

I was proud of myself.
Michael Riley and I had successfully gone out on three dates and I had managed to keep my legs closed for all of them. He was trying to be a gentlemen, and it seemed that we were backtracking from the hot and heavy we had started with. Although, there might have been a trade-off on oral sex half a dozen times, third base was still better than a homerun. Despite how much I wanted him, I was afraid he’d disappear after we had intercourse. This dating concept was really screwing with my attempt at staying emotionally unattached. It was too late. I was getting to know him, and I liked him a lot. Maybe I liked him more than a lot, but it was too soon to think like that.

The city’s power grid was undergoing maintenance and there were rolling blackouts.
Since my job was to serve and protect, I had been called in to help deal with the power outages and all the lunatics such events brought out of the woodwork. Thankfully, I wasn’t on the front lines, and instead I was redirecting everyone to areas that still had regular power.

Yo, Lexie did you hear about the hostage situation?” Kemper asked. I spun in my chair and looked at him. “Riley had to talk some deranged shooter down. When he reached for the guy’s gun, somehow the dude got the slip on him and held him at gunpoint until ESU got their sniper to take him out. It’s been all over the news.”

“Holy shit,” I cursed, my stomach clenching at the news that Riley could have easily been killed.
Maybe taking it slow wasn’t the way to go. Our careers were dangerous.

“Yeah, dispatch just phoned.
It’s a mess, but at least our guy is okay,” Kemper prattled on. I got up to turn on the old television in the corner, and all the power went out. The emergency lights flickered on, but the back-up generator didn’t kick on.

“Piece of shit,” the lieutenant cursed.
“Okay, all the guys we had in holding were transferred earlier since we’re in a blackout zone, but let’s just shut everything down and move to the nearest precinct to continue work.” The few police personnel on the premises collected their belongings and began heading for the stairs.

“You
coming?” Kemper asked, as I rummaged through my desk.

“I’m not feeling so well.
Think I can duck out early? Will you cover for me?”

“Sure, no problem.
Feel better.” He followed the others out of the building and I slumped back in my chair.

I had just dialed Riley’s cell phone when I heard ringing in the distance.
Getting up, I found him coming in as everyone else was going out. He glanced at his phone and then at me. I rushed into his arms and hugged him. “Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine.”
He didn’t sound fine, but he was in one piece. He scratched his head and edged toward his desk. “I got my ass handed to me for improper procedure and I’ve got to work a desk while IA investigates. But luckily, none of that is going into effect until after these damn blackouts are resolved.” He pulled out a notepad and started writing in the dim light provided by the emergency lights.

I sat down in my chair and watched him write his report.
He was stressed. I could see it in the way his shoulders were tensed and the white in his knuckles, even in this dim light. The precinct was eerily quiet since everyone had gone. The only cops still inside were the few downstairs redirecting civilians to one of the other police stations. I waited for Michael to finish his report. He threw the pen down on the desk and let out a frustrated growl.

“Hey,” I said softly, grabbing something out of my desk and slipping it into my pocket before going across the room to him, “I get
it if you don’t want to talk about it. But you could have been killed tonight.” I pushed his chair back and sat on his lap, straddling him. “I don’t want to lose you.” I began massaging his shoulders and he leaned his head against my chest as I worked on rubbing out the kinks and the knots. “It’s over now,” I whispered, “you can relax. No one’s here except me.”

Lexie,” he looked up, “I should have taken the shot myself. But I thought I could reason with him. Instead he,” he looked away. I grasped his chin in my hand and made him face me.

“I understand why you didn’t.
But I’d rather it be you than him who is still standing at the end of the day,” I insisted.

“Me too.”
He turned his head to look at the security camera which was dead, just like all the other electrical equipment in the precinct. He kissed me, soft and gentle, and I parted my lips and let his tongue explore. He needed to feel grounded to something tangible and I wanted it to be me.

“Michael,” my voice was barely a whisper as he began kissing down the column of my neck as his fingers undid the buttons on my shirt.

He pulled my tucked-in shirt free of my jeans and smiled at the front-clasp on my bra.
Unhooking it, the material immediately fell away as he kissed my breasts. Paying equal attention to each rosy red peak, I moaned and threw my head back as he moved at a slow, tender pace. When his lips moved back to mine, my hands made fast work of his shirt. We weren’t in a rush, and I was letting him take the lead on everything, but that didn’t mean I couldn’t help our progress along.

He pushed my back against the desk, and even though I was still seated in his lap, he ran his hand along my abdomen before slowly undoing my belt.
He pulled me into an upright position, and I stood up so he could shove my jeans down my legs. His hands massaged my calves, my thighs, and he pressed his mouth against my lace thong, teasing me through the material. I quivered and my legs shook. He smiled at the effect he was having on me.

“Good thing someone left a box of condoms around the station,” I smirked, bending down and grabbing the foil package out of my discarded jeans pocket.

I knelt on the floor, undoing the zipper on his pants with my teeth.
I struggled to get the offending garment off of him, and he finally stood and shoved his pants and boxer briefs down in one fluid motion. He was already fully erect and ready to go. I opened the packet with my teeth and slid the condom down his shaft, hearing him groan as he thrust into my hand.

He sat back down in the chair and pulled me onto his lap, groaning as the head of his penis came into contact with my dripping wet opening.
Slowly, I slid inch by inch down onto his manhood, allowing my body to get use to his size and girth as we both gasped and moaned at the intimate contact. He reached between us and rubbed his thumb in lazy circles against my clit, encouraging my inner walls to accept all of him. He only stopped once he was balls deep inside of me, neither of us moving.

“Are you okay?” he asked, touching my lips.

“More than okay,” I responded, rocking slightly forward indicating
he should start moving.

He leaned forward and kissed me.
“Wrap your legs around me,” he instructed as he stood up, carrying me, impaled on his cock, across the room. He pressed me against the wall and slowly withdrew three-fourths of the way before easing back inside. I hadn’t expected this man to be so gentle and careful, but here he was moving slow, allowing me to get use to accommodating him. Easing slowly in and out. In and out. As I began thrusting forward to meet him, he began to pick up the pace.

Briefly, I considered how insane it was to be having sex in the middle of the squad room, but no one was around and Michael was almost killed.
I felt the build-up in my stomach, as my muscles started to constrict. My vaginal walls were gripping at him harder, trying to stop his rhythmic retreat when he picked up the pace, and I knew he was close.

He shifted his angle, hitting the
sensitive bundle of nerves on my front wall and sending me cascading over the edge. I cried out and he covered my mouth with his, swallowing my screams in a kiss that had his tongue mimicking the actions of his cock as I felt his lower back tense beneath my calves and he jerked inside of me.

As both our orgasms subsided, we ended up crumpled on the floor.
A mess of clothing, sweat, and limbs. He kissed me gently and cradled me against his chest. I could feel my heartbeat pounding in time to his. “Lexie,” he brushed my hair from my face, “I love you. I know it’s too soon to say it, but I do.”

“Oh, Michael,” I looked up and kissed him, “I know now isn’t the time to say such things, but hell, I think I fell for you the moment I saw you.” I giggled.
“You wouldn’t believe it, but what we just did, all the things we’ve done, I’ve never been like this with anyone else before. I always had slow relationships with just some kissing, and maybe a little boob action, but not anything as crazy as this. It’s you. I’ve always wanted you.”

He smiled.
“In that case, I’m yours.”
