The wall behind her quickly heated as Logan began an assault on all her senses. His hands traveled over nerves brought to life by his lush kisses. He cupped her breasts, plumped and weighed them in his palms. When he tweaked her nipples with thumb and fingers she arched into his touch, desperate for more.

Logan’s hand inched its way over her stomach and between her legs. With sure strokes he teased her clit until she whimpered with need. Her hips jerked, thrashed to take his fingers deeper. Pulling her mouth from his, Meredith gasped for breath, her head resting against the wall. Hot kisses trailed down her exposed throat and he sucked on the delicate skin over her pounding pulse.

Drums roared in her ears and her legs quaked as Logan drove two fingers into her pussy, his thumb pressing on her clit. She catapulted over the edge and hardly noticed when he lifted her from the ground and drove his cock into her. Buried to the hilt, he pumped his hips and fucked her against the wall. Hard, fast jabs that kept her flying, her orgasm sucking at his length on each retreat.

She threw her legs around his waist and gripped his shoulders with fingers searching for purchase on sweat-slick skin. Logan bent at the knees and rammed into her, hitting her G-spot dead on. Her pussy seized, clamped down and wouldn’t let go. Balls-deep, he came, spilling his seed deep inside.

Their ragged breath echoed off the walls, the harsh sound bouncing back and forth. He eased her to her feet and her legs wobbled a bit before holding. With the flick of his hand, Logan had the water running, the cold torrent stealing her breath. It soon heated and soothed sore muscles, washing away sweat and cum. Soaping up a sponge, he swept the soft foam over her with gentle care.

Meredith returned the favor, loving the feel of his skin under her soap-slicked hands. He shuddered beneath her attention, his muscles rippling as she cleaned him. She smiled, pleased with the effect she had on him even in this simple task of bathing.

When they were finished, Logan turned off the water and stepped from the shower. He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around her before running his hand up and down her back. Dropping a kiss on her head he backed away to get his own towel and dry off.

“So, what do you feel like for dinner?”

“Seafood?”

“Sure. We can head down to Shelli’s by the Sea.”

Meredith didn’t bother with makeup and just pulled her hair back with a fancy clip, letting tendrils fall loose to curl around her neck. She threw on one of her light summer dresses, a pair of flip-flops and she was ready to go.

They rode in companionable silence to the restaurant and didn’t have any trouble finding parking which was good. Sometimes you had to park blocks from the beach strip. Taking their time, they strolled along the waterfront holding hands. With the gorgeous summer evening surrounding them, Meredith couldn’t think of any other place she’d rather be.

As she held Logan’s hand in hers she finally admitted what she felt for him was love. She knew it with a certainty that should have frightened her but didn’t. The emotion welling up inside stole over her, made her smile. Not wanting to share her love just yet, she held it close and savored the rightness of it. Meredith planned to tell him later, when they weren’t in public. Her stride quickened. She suddenly couldn’t wait for dinner to be over.

“Hey, what’s the rush?”

Meredith tugged Logan’s hand. She glanced over her shoulder at him. “I’m really hungry all of a sudden.”

Logan’s laughter burst out. “Well you did forget to finish brunch.”

His devilish grin sent a thrill down her spine.

Oh yeah, she couldn’t wait for dinner to be over.

* * * * *

Logan sat and sipped his wine while he watched Meredith polish off the last bite of lobster. The hot and cold seafood platter for two sat on the table in front of them completely demolished. He couldn’t believe they managed to eat it all. When the waiter had delivered the three-tiered plate Logan had visions of taking home a doggy bag and eating seafood for the rest of the week.

“Damn, I’m so full I think I might explode if I breathe.” Meredith put her fork down and slumped back in her chair.

The move pushed her unconfined breasts out, her nipples poked at the thin material of her dress and sent Logan’s libido soaring. He’d noticed her lack of bra earlier and had a devil of a time trying to keep his gaze off her chest. His stomach wasn’t the only thing full. Blood had filled his cock the second his brain had worked out Meredith’s unclothed state. The woman could tempt a saint and watching her eat was better than watching porn. She savored every mouthful, the look of bliss on her face one he recognized well.

Their whole meal had been foreplay. The way she sucked the food from her fork to the way she licked her lips between bites had his heart pounding and blood racing. He’d shifted so many times in his seat it was a wonder he hadn’t worn a hole in it. Something about her was different, Logan couldn’t work out what but at some point between leaving her house and the restaurant there’d been a change in Meredith. It made her more appealing. All he wanted to do was take her home and back to bed where he could make love to her again, but he did the right thing and suggested dessert.

“Too full for dessert and coffee?”

Mmm
…”

“Not even a slice of Shelli’s decadent mud cake?”

She moaned. “You know I can’t resist mud cake.”

He smiled. “I’m all for tempting you.”

“Yes you are, aren’t you?”

Meredith slid her hand across her belly and Logan’s groin tightened. He knew she didn’t mean for the move to be sexy but that’s exactly what it was. Not wanting anyone to see the erection now tenting his pants, he sat forward and leaned his elbows on the table. It was becoming second nature to have to hide a hard-on whenever he was around her.

“So do you want some cake?” Logan hoped she said no. There was only one thing he wanted for dessert and it wouldn’t be served here.

“Can I go to the bathroom first?”

Logan laughed. “Don’t let cake get in the way of a nature call.”

“Back in a minute.” Meredith didn’t move. “Well I will be as soon as I can pry myself out of this chair.”

“Go on, I’ll order while you’re gone.”

Meredith pushed out of her chair, the move slow and fluid, and Logan swallowed the groan in his throat. The thin strap on her sundress slid off one shoulder revealing the top slope of a supple breast, her nipple playing peek-a-boo. She stepped beside him and leaned down to brush her lips over his.

“Make sure they heat the mud cake and add a dollop of ice cream,” she spoke against his mouth.

Logan thrust his tongue out and pushed it into her mouth. She tasted of lobster and butter. His cock throbbed and he pulled back before he lost control. He gave her a little nudge. “Go. I’ll order your cake just the way you like it.”

“And that’s one of the many reasons I love you, Logan. You know just the way I like it.”

In stunned silence, his gaze glued to Meredith’s butt as she made her way across the room, Logan couldn’t believe she’d dropped that bomb now. Screw having dessert, he’d pay the check and the second she got back from the bathroom they were leaving.

Meredith felt like a sloth as she wove her way through the tables to the back of the room. They’d been given a table by the windows which meant the restrooms were on the opposite side of the building but the view of the ocean was worth the trek to the toilet. She really had overindulged. Seafood always was a weakness for her. So many wonderful flavors and textures to enjoy and Sydney never seemed to be in short supply.

She’d enjoyed the last hour more than any other she’d spent with Logan. A peace and contentment she’d never felt before had settled over her and Meredith could only think it was because she’d finally admitted her true feelings. A smile stretched her lips and laughter bubbled in her throat.

She loved him.

The depth of her feelings should surprise her but it didn’t. Maybe she’d been a little in love with Logan for years and never known. It seemed they’d been friends forever and now that they’d taken things that step further she couldn’t deny the rightness of the emotion flooding her chest. She was in love with Logan Foster.

Caught up in her thoughts, Meredith nearly fell into the ladies’ room as the door swung inward. She stumbled forward and almost collided with the blonde coming out.

“Oh, sorry.” Meredith stepped back out of the way and let the woman pass.

Before she could get inside the bathroom she was spun around, the grip on her arm hurt as sharp nails dug into her skin.

“Are you following us now?”

The high-pitched squeal grated on Meredith’s nerves and the angry face inches from her own made her take a step back. It only took a second to place the harpy screeching in her face. Barbie.

“When will you give up and realize you have no chance of getting Dirk back?”

“Look, Barbie—”

“Don’t start making excuses. I know you’re angry that Dirk loves me but it isn’t my fault. You should never have tried to hold onto him for so long when you knew he didn’t love you.”

“What? The first I knew there was anything wrong with my marriage was the day you turned up on my doorstep telling me my husband was screwing you. If Dirk had once had the balls to tell me he didn’t love me anymore I’d have divorced him in a minute. As far as I’m concerned it’s good riddance.”

Barbie gasped and spluttered without making any words. Meredith turned to leave but the bimbo finally found something to say.

“You mean you’re not still chasing after him?”

Meredith stopped mid-step. Still chasing Dirk? What the hell was the airhead talking about? She turned back to find the man they were discussing coming toward them. “Why do you think I’m chasing after him?
I
divorced him, remember? And I’ve seen you a whole three times in my life. Now, at Joan and Walter’s party and the day you darkened my door.”

“But Dirk said…”

“Barbie, sweetheart, is everything all right?” Dirk glanced at Meredith. “
Merri
? What are you doing here?”

“Dirk.” His use of the pet name she hated caused the food in her stomach to churn. All she’d wanted to do was use the bathroom, instead her wonderful evening had suddenly gone down the toilet. “If you’ll excuse me—”

Barbie burst into tears. The sobs so loud they rang in Meredith’s ears. She had no idea what the other woman was crying about but Dirk turned toward her and started yelling.

“Can’t you just leave us alone?” He held Barbie against his chest. “I’ve told you we’re through and yet you keep insisting on following us around.”

Meredith’s mouth dropped open. What the hell was Dirk-the-
dickless
talking about? The man had obviously been breathing in Barbie’s bleach-blonde locks because at some point he’d lost his mind. Forget the bathroom, Meredith tried to step around them but Dirk blocked her way.

“I’ve told you and I’ve told you. Leave us—”

“Meredith?”

Meredith looked past Dirk and Barbie to see Logan had joined them. A sigh of relief left her chest. She’d be able to escape now. “Logan.”

Dirk’s mouth dropped open and flapped like a goldfish.

She smiled. Pleased she’d shocked him speechless, a bubble of laughter tickling her throat. Barbie, on the other hand, had no such trouble finding her squeaky high-pitched voice, but her words only made Meredith smile wider and a laugh burst free.

“Oh. My. God.” Barbie stared at her with bug-eyes. “You’re doing Logan!”

Chapter Four

Logan didn’t say a word on the short drive to his house. He didn’t trust himself just yet. Too much emotion rolled around inside him to have this conversation anywhere but his bedroom. After he got Meredith to repeat that “I love you” comment he planned to get her naked. The whir of the garage door closing behind them was the only sound when he cut the engine. Yanking the keys from the ignition, Logan flung open his door and got out of the car.

Striding around the bonnet Logan reached Meredith’s door just as she pushed it open. He gripped her hand and pulled her from the vehicle more roughly than he was comfortable with but he rode a fine edge that threatened to slice him in two.

“Logan?”

“Not one word,” he growled as he pulled her toward the door.

It took him too long to punch in the code for his alarm. Frustration vibrated through his body—need and desperation close behind. He turned and pushed her down the hall. She took two steps to every one of his but he didn’t slow down. Couldn’t slow down.

“Logan—”

“Bedroom. Now.”

The gruffness of his voice startled him. He’d never felt this raw desire with any other woman. Meredith turned him inside out and upside down and Logan doubted that would ever change. Their chemistry was too volatile. Nothing about his feelings for her was calm. Not now that he’d had her beneath him. Heard those words slip past her lips. God he wanted to hear them again.

He kicked the bedroom door closed behind them. The crash of timber reverberated around the room and rattled the window. Breathing hard, Logan spun Meredith around until she slammed into his chest. The softness of her breasts pressed against him sent a spike of heat into his balls. Arousal burned, singed every part of him. Nothing but burying his cock deep in her hot body would douse the fire raging in his veins.

“Say it again,” he demanded.

Their mouths were a breath apart but he didn’t touch her. If they kissed now he’d lose it completely and take what his body screamed was his.

“What?” Her gaze fixed on his and Meredith panted. “Logan I don’t—”

“Tell me again but this time you won’t walk away when you’re done.”

Confusion swirled in her eyes. One breath, then two and he watched as emotions he couldn’t name filled the brown orbs. Logan knew the moment she realized what he was talking about. Her lips stretched in a smile that had his heart kicking in his chest. She brought her hands up to cup his cheeks and holding her gaze steady on his she breathed the words he’d waited a lifetime to hear against his lips.
