It’s almost six, and I need to pick up the girls soon. I’ll let you sleep.”

With half-open eyes, he glanced over at me, almost looking like he’d hoped he was dreaming. “Okay.”

“I’ll lock up.”

His eyes widened. “No, I’ll walk you out,” he said, coming to a stance, slipping on his pajama bottoms. He went to the bathroom and flushed the other condom, washed his face and hands, and proceeded to take my hand as we walked downstairs to the front door.

I stood before him. “Will I see you again, Makkai? I really am sorry.”

He gave long blinks. “We’ll talk about it.”

“You’re mad at me.”

“I’m tired, Georgia.” His chest looked so good.

“I’m sorry. I think I’m about to get a visit from Aunt Flo. You know, just hormonal and stuff.”

“It’s cool.” He put his hand on my back. “Go home, Georgia. And be safe.”

“I will. I love you.”

He closed the door as my sentence ended.

I rummaged through the white pages and there it was.

“Hi, Mrs. Cotton. This is Georgia, Makkai’s friend. How are you?”

“Oh, I’m fine. How nice of you to call. To what do I owe this pleasure?”

Oh, hell. As I sat at home one afternoon more than one week later while the kids were in school, I realized it was her voice I’d heard that sounded
so familiar when I called the number I took from Makkai’s cell. She must have been sleeping then, because now, she didn’t sound sexy, or groggy, or pissed off. I can’t believe I did that. “I just wanted to tell you how nice it was meeting you the other night.”

“It was my pleasure. You seem to be a very sweet girl.”

“Thank you.” I played twirl and roll with my hair.

“How was your day? Did you work today?”

“No, I wasn’t feeling well.”

“What’s wrong?”

“I’m not sure. Just feeling a little nauseated, that’s all.”

“Well, take it easy and perhaps you can try some Pepto Bismol. That works for me every time, especially when I eat food that’s a little too rich for me.”

“Okay. I’ll remember that.”

“Did you eat anything different lately?”

“No.” I didn’t tell her that I hadn’t been eating at all.

“How are the girls?”

“They’re fine.”

“I still can’t believe how gorgeous those girls are. The two of them together in that picture is just priceless.”

“Thanks. You know, I was going to ask you, do you mind if maybe I stop by tomorrow? I have an appointment for Treasure and Love to take new pictures, and it’s in the Crenshaw mall right around the corner from you.”

“That would be great. What time would that be?”

I flipped through my day planner. “Around noon. We should be done by then.” “Okay. Do you know where I am?” “I know you’re in Baldwin Hills. I know we dropped you off on Cloverdale, right?”

“Yes, it’s 3802 Cloverdale Avenue. It’s at the southeast corner of Cloverdale and Coliseum, just west of La Brea.”

“Sure, I remember where it is.” “That’ll be so nice. Thanks for thinking of me. My husband Al should be here, too. Makkai is coming by at six tonight to take me to dinner. Are you coming?”

“No. I haven’t talked to him about that.” “I see. Well, Georgia, thanks for calling. I’ll see you and those baby dolls tomorrow.”

“Okay. See you then. Have a good night.” “You, too.”

Chapter 17

“I
don’t want her coming by,” I told my mother as we sat at her favorite restaurant, the Red Lobster.

“Why?” The waiter had taken our orders for the Ultimate Feast. Mom loaded up on garlic bread, and we asked that our salads be served with our main course.

“She freaked out after that night, actually showing up at my house without calling.”

“Why?”

“Does it matter why?”

“No, but what happened?” she asked, biting into the buttery breadstick.

“She scrolled through my cell and started calling women.”

“Oh, no, son. You can’t have that. You’ve got to straighten her out on that one. That is a bad sign.”

“Don’t I know it?”

“And she seemed so sweet the other night. What am I going to say when she comes by?”

“She’s not coming by, Mom. You gave her your address?”

“She knew where it was already. She was in the limousine the other night. I was just so impressed that she was so sweet to call and want to bring those girls by.”

“Oh, Lord.” My eyes hit the ceiling.

Mom leaned in to deliver her words closer. “Well, you need to be careful.”

The young waitress placed our glasses on the table. “I brought water for both of you. And here’s your white wine, ma’am.”

Mom leaned back. “Thanks so much.”

“Your orders will be right up.”

“Sounds good,” I replied before speaking to Mom again. “I don’t think she’s going to trip out. But, really, she’s got some serious issues.”

“Probably man issues. Obviously she doesn’t trust.” Mom sipped her ice water from a straw.

“Obviously. But, I’m not her man. She doesn’t need to trust me.”

“What you need to do is call her and straighten her out before she comes over and I embarrass her.”

“I will.”

“Good.” Mom exchanged her water glass for her wineglass.

The waitress approached again. “You know, I’ll have a glass of wine, too.”

She placed our lobster tail and crab platters in front of us. The aroma of seafood and garlic butter convinced us to focus on our meal, as Mom said grace.

Over an hour later, just as I said goodbye to Mom, I grabbed my cell and stepped out of Mom’s front door. The number I dialed was ringing by the time I stepped into my ride. I took off and honked as Mom waved goodbye. I secured my earphone. My outgoing call was answered.

“Hello.” A young, high voice greeted me.

“Where’s your mom?”

“She’s in the bathroom.”

“May I talk to her, please?” I said, speeding onto the main highway.

“Who’s this?”

“It’s Makkai, sweetheart.”

“Hi, Makkai,” Treasure said with an exclamation point. “Hi.”

“Mom said you were coming over. Are you?”

“Not tonight, Treasure. Now, please put your mom on the phone.”

She yelled into the phone. “Mom, it’s Makkai.”

I heard Georgia yell in the background. “Okay.”

“She’s on the toilet, you know.”

I smirked in spite of my deliberate focus. “Okay, thanks.”

I heard Georgia’s voice becoming clearer. She sounded half embarrassed, saying as she approached, “Treasure, give me that phone. Go check on your little sister.”

Treasure’s voice sang, “Bye, Makkai.”

“Bye, honey.”

“I said give me the phone. Hello.” A muffled sound followed.

A Prince cut blasted through my speakers. “Georgia?”

She spoke loudly. “Yes. How are you?”

“Not so good.”

“What’s wrong?”

“Georgia, my mother tells me you’re coming by with the girls.”

“Yes, tomorrow. Why?”

“I don’t want you doing that.”

A double pregnant pause occurred. “Why?”

“Georgia, it’s not like that with us and you know it.”

“Not like what?”

“We already talked about this. Like tight enough for you to be going by to see my family.”

“Makkai, I met your mother at your event and we talked. I can go see her if I want to.”

“No, you can’t.”

“Makkai, you’re tripping.” She gave a minor laugh.

“Georgia, I want you to stop calling my mother.”

“You are totally blowing this out of proportion.”

“No, I think you are.”

“Hold up now, I talked to your mom, and she wants to meet the girls.”

“No, I don’t want you taking them over there.”

“Then I’ll talk to your mother.”

I turned down the CD volume. “What is wrong with you? I’m telling you no. If you go by there, I’m going to have my mother and her husband call the police. I will file what I have to if necessary.”

“Makkai, you cannot be serious.”

“I am serious.”

“Makkai.”

“Goodbye, Georgia.” I snatched my earphone and ended the call.

Damn, that girl is hardheaded.

Ring.

Ring.

Ring.

Ring.

Fifty unanswered phone calls later, she gave up.

Thank God some time had gone by without a word from Georgia. I saw that as a good sign. She didn’t show up at Mom’s house. I was beginning to believe she got the message. But then, one night my cell rang while I was in my home office upstairs checking email. I didn’t answer it. My voice mail tone sounded.

“Makkai, I’m at your door. Pick up the fucking phone. Makkai. I have to tell you something. I know your ass is in there.”

Carl Lewis had nothing on me. I sprinted downstairs to the front door, still with my cell in hand. I flung open the door. “How did you get past the gate?”

“Same way I did before. It opens when you drive up, with or without a remote.” Her face was red as well as her eyes.

I made a mental note to fix that as I spoke. “Georgia, you can’t just show up here again without being invited. You did that once before and got away with it. Now, I want you to leave. If you don’t, I will dial 911 with you standing right here.” I held my cell phone in front of her face.

“Makkai, I’m pregnant and it’s yours.” She said it like she was actually delivering good news.

Why was I not shocked? “That’s not possible.”

“Why, because you wore a hard hat? That means
nothing. You’re the only man I’ve slept with, and I’m pregnant.”

“But, you told me you were about to get a visit from ‘Aunt Flo’ as you said.”

“Well, I didn’t.”

I shook my head. “Georgia, I want you to leave.”

“No.”

“We’ll talk about this over the phone.”

She stomped her right foot. “How can you be so cruel to me? When did you start being so mean?” A tear welled up in her left eye.

“When you showed up the last time having gone through my phone. I see you with new eyes now. I’ll never see you the same.”

“And I’ll never see you the same either. I’m going to have this baby.”

“Fine.”

“And? You don’t care?” Her right hand was framing her hip.

“Leave.”

The tear traced a path from her eye to her cheek as she wiped it with the back of her hand. “Goodbye, Makkai. I never thought after all these years you’d end up being so cruel.”

“I never thought after all these years you’d end up being so crazy.”

“Good riddance,” she said as she stepped quickly to her white Sebring and slammed the door, turning the ignition and then pulling off in the same millisecond, barely waiting for the gate to open.

That woman is not even telling me the truth. Either way, it can’t be mine. There’s no way. Besides, Lord knows she’s got more kids than she should be allowed to have anyway.

Chapter 18
Monday

H
e gave me that, “You had me at hello,” crock of corny bull. Run for the hills if a man ever has the nerve to run that line on you. Makkai is using me just like I’m using him. He takes me to fancy restaurants, he buys me nice gifts, and he gives me money to get my hair and nails done every now and then. He says he doesn’t do that for anyone else. Probably because no one else makes it mandatory. But, his generosity is the only reason he’s getting this gold card pussy, because he has money. What can a poor man do for me other than eat my pussy and spend my money?

He devoured me. “Damn, Delicious. It’s so pretty, all clean-shaven and perfect, like a fleshy peach.”

“I love it when you call me Delicious.” Lust filled the room. And a few shots of tequila filled my head.

“It is. You taste like butterscotch with whipped-cream.”

“I do?” I asked, watching him enjoy himself.

“It has a sweet taste that I can’t even describe.”

“Then why don’t you share it with me so I can taste it, too.”

“I bet you would taste it if you could.”

“Come on up here.”

He moved upward and brought his lips to mine. I licked all inside his mouth and smacked his lips loudly as we pressed mouths together. I inhaled.

I said, “Oooooooo, more please.”

He worked his way from up high to down below again and tasted inside for a while. He came back up and gave me what his taste buds were covered with.

While kissing me, he managed to secure a ribbed condom by touch, and he placed his size inside of it. I looked at him as he leaned up, flashing his total erection, preparing to enter me. He looked at me with serious eyes. I smiled.

He told me, “Damn, that gap in your teeth is so sexy.”

Once he was deep inside, he kissed my lips and sucked on my bottom lip. Then he grabbed my backside while handfuls of ass spread in between his manly fingers.

“Damn, this is heaven.”

“Get all you can, baby,” I encouraged him. “Make yourself at home.”

“Oh, I am.” He was lost in me.

Perfect timing. “You gonna take me to get that bracelet I wanted that I told you about?”

“Yes, Monday.”

“When?”

“As soon as we’re done. I’ll get you anything you want.”

“Oh really?”

“Really. Now turn over.”

I moved my leg from around him and rolled to my left to lie on my stomach. “Bend your hips up.”

I propped up on my elbows. He separated my heavy cheeks and found his way to my entrance. “Who am I?” he asked with authority. “Makkai.” “Is this my pussy?” “Yes.”

“Damn, this is the best pussy I’ve ever had.”

“Is it?”

“Yes.”

“Is it delicious?”

“It is delicious.”

“Is my pussy deep enough?”

“Yes.”

“Is it tight enough?”

“Yes.” Boyfriend pulled back his flat hand and popped the hell out of my right cheek. I loved it. “Ooooo, yes.” He then popped it again. I felt the sting. “Yes.”

“How about this?” He let go of my waist and simultaneously popped each cheek with each hand while he rode me like a jockey. I bucked. “Oh, Makkai.” “Is that how you want it?” “Yes.”

“Like this?” He yanked me back toward him and did it again.

“Yes, yes.” My heartbeat pounded as I squinted my eyes. I balled up my fists.

“That ass is turning so red, but you like it, huh?

You want my handprint to be there until next week, right?”
