“Good girl,” he ground out with his jaw clenched tight. “Such a good girl.”

No wonder men were willing to kill and be killed for the pleasure of feeling a woman’s tight cunt bathing their bare cocks. Why men in power risked it all and Sparta fell. If Helen of Troy’s pussy felt half as good as Alayna’s, it made perfect sense why the king launched a thousand ships to get her back.

His throat burned as he swallowed a groan and drove his hips into her body again and again.

The thought of marking her with his cum for all to see made him lightheaded, but he couldn’t pull out. He told himself on each thrust, it was his last. It was.

But…

He couldn’t do it.

With a handful of her hair he shook her. Not roughly. Just enough to get her to open her eyes.

“I want you to watch me as I claim you. Watch. Me.”

Her eyes.

“Fuck…” Somehow, someway he was able to keep from shouting her name as he came. Cum shot from the end of his cock and he buried himself as deep as he could in her core.

“Stee—”

His mouth crashed down on hers to keep their secret. To keep them safe even when he didn’t think anything was safe from her anymore.

His heart.

He was so damn screwed. And in their perfect moment…he didn’t care.

Spurt after spurt of cum erupted from the tip of his erection as it jerked inside her. Her wet heat surrounded him and he knew without a shadow of a doubt he’d forever be changed from that moment on.

Steele lifted her cuffs free from the hook, tucking her bound wrists between them. He held her close as blood thundered in his ears. It wasn’t until the spots cleared from his vision he realized it wasn’t his pulse he was hearing but the roar of the party guests as they clamored to their feet with wild applause.

Steele blinked and half turned, wondering how long it would have taken him otherwise to remember they weren’t alone.

Laskin stuck two fingers in his mouth creating a high-pitched whistle which egged the guests on even more.

Alayna shivered and he noticed an attendant coming toward him with a fluffy white robe. Steele helped Alayna unlock her booted feet from around him, and then he pulled free of her sweet body and set her on her feet.

She stared at his chest, no emotion on her face as he tucked his half-hard cock back into his suit pants. Taking the robe from the attendant, he draped it around Alayna’s shoulders. “I’ve got you, baby girl. I’ve got you.” He pressed his lips against her forehead as she shuddered in his arms.

She pushed weakly at his chest and refused to meet his eyes. “I’m okay, but you’ve got to go,” she whispered.

“You’re insane. I’m not leaving you now. Not after that.”

“You have to. Korovin’s gone.”

“What?”

He looked over and saw an empty chair where Korovin had sat. A cigarette smoldered in the ashtray on the table next to the pack with the microchip in it.

“Go.” She pushed again at his chest but with some force behind it this time. “Go.”

He looked down at her flushed face and knew what he had to do.

Chapter Eight

Steele exited the limo with Alayna in his arms still wrapped in the robe. One of the attendants had brought her clothes before they left which she clutched to her chest.

The hotel doorman opened the glass door as he approached.

“Do you need some assistance, sir?”

“No thanks. Women and their shoes. Right?”

The doorman smiled. “I know. But we do love the way they look in them, don’t we?”

“You got it, man. Have a good night.”

“I can walk, you know,” she said with her nose pressed into his neck. “Leave me and go after Korovin.”

He’d wondered as he carried her from the Purple Curtain if she’d clam up, retreat somewhere in her mind where he couldn’t reach her. But she hadn’t. She pushed as hard as he did just like he’d become accustomed to her doing.

“I heard you the first eighty times in the car. I’m not leaving you. Now press the button for our floor.”

She did as he asked, but continued with her argument. “You have to go after him, Steele. You know it’s the right thing to do.”

Probably. But at the moment nothing mattered to him more than seeing to her needs. What kind of Dom would he be if he left her?

What kind of Marine?

What kind of man?

“The right thing to do is take care of my girl, now quit bitching or I’ll gag you, and it won’t be in a sexy way either. I have a feeling you get off on that. Get my key out of my back pocket and open the door. ”

“Why are you fighting me on this?”

He shouldered his way into the room. “I’m military. No one gets left behind.”

“Well where I’m from it’s pirate’s code. Fall behind, you stay behind.”

“And where is that?” he asked as he set her on the bed, taking her clothes and setting them with her things. “I’ve wondered how you come by your accent.”

“My parents came to America when I was two. While in the home, they only spoke Russian.”

“Longing for the American dream were they?” he asked as he unzipped her boot.

“Something like that. My grandfather was former KGB.” She shrugged. “Long story short he sold secrets to the United States and went on the run. Life became difficult for the family he left behind, and my father grew tired of paying for my grandfather’s treason, so he packed us all up and asked the Americans for asylum.”

“So spying runs in the family.”

“Making the world a better place runs in the family.” She let out a contented sigh as he dug his fingers into the bottom of her foot.

There was a reason why he hadn’t left her ass and gone after Korovin. He sure as hell couldn’t put his finger on what that reason was, but it sure had to be pretty important to trump years of guilt and thoughts of revenge.

Perhaps if he knew more about her, unveiled some of her mystery, he’d be able to better focus on his mission. “You said us. You have siblings?”

Beneath his hands she stilled. Obviously he’d hit a sensitive subject and for a second thought about changing topics but he held his tongue and hoped his patience paid off.

“Had.” She licked at her bottom lip and pulled on a loose thread of her robe. “My brother. He was in the Army. A ranger. Died in Afghanistan about three years ago.”

“Shit. I’m sorry, Alayna.”

She shrugged. “The worst part was I had just begun a new assignment and was undercover. I couldn’t even attend his funeral.”

“Where were you at the time?”

She stilled again and nibbled on her lips. “Moscow. What about you? Do you have any brothers or sisters?”

Damn. He should have expected she’d want him to open the vacuumed sealed book on his life. Manners dictated he respond in kind, however talking about his personal life was akin to torture.

He didn’t share.

Ever.

A fact that she clearly picked up on for her shoulders slumped. He felt her withdrawal as clearly as if she shut a door between them.

When she tried to pull her foot from his grip, he tightened his hold. “A sister,” he said in a low, rough tone, telling her that topic was not up for discussion. “Zinc was the closest thing to a brother I had growing up. Our fathers were college buddies. I’d known him since he was born. I’m six months older.” His chuckle was rough and raw in his throat.

She reached out a hand, pausing in midair for a moment before she continued the rest of the way and picked up the dog tag lying on his chest. She brushed her thumb over the worn down letters. “Can you tell me about him?”

“Zinc? He, uh… he was a better man than I. He wanted to save the world, I just wanted to blow shit up and take out bad guys. He had a way with people that just put them at ease. I tend to make people clutch their belongings a little tighter. He,” he paused to take a breath. “He believed there was a life outside of the Marines. He was going to get married. But then Phoenix happened and…” He shook his head, unable to continue.

“I’m so sorry, Steele,” Alayna whispered and a tear slipped down her cheek. “It shouldn’t have happened. You weren’t supposed to be there. None of you should have been there. You all lost so much.” She dropped the tags. “We have to get him. Korovin. We have to get him now.”

“Hold up. Hold up there, sweetheart.” He grabbed her around the waist when she jumped off the bed. “Where are you going?”

“To Laskin’s villa to look for Korovin. If that little shit doesn’t talk, I’ll make him.”

“I love your enthusiasm, woman, but we can’t go in there half-cocked and without a plan. It’s late, and Korovin is still in town. I managed to get another tracker in the pocket of his suit when he was getting seated.” He bobbed his eyebrows, pretty pleased with himself due to her look of surprise. “Laskin also said earlier he was having dinner tomorrow night with some friends of the family. He wanted us to join him for a gathering in his suite afterwards to celebrate his last night in town. I’d bet good money Korovin is part of that dinner and an exchange of information is going to happen then.”

“He seemed pissed before you walked away from them. What makes you think he still wants us at dinner tomorrow night? We can’t let him get away.”

“We won’t, baby. I promise.” He dropped a kiss to her trembling lips. “I bet you a hundred dollars Laskin sends word here before we wake in the morning he still expects us at dinner.”

“What makes you think he gives a shit one way or another?”

He ran his nose along hers. “You.”

She seemed to wait for something else. “Me. What about me?”

“He hasn’t had you yet. He still thinks he has a shot. You’re the proverbial carrot dangling in front of him.”

“And you’re the stick he won’t see coming.”

“Stick of dynamite if I get my wish. So. Do we have a bet?”

Her lips curved but she fought it. “Yes. I don’t see any reason he’d hang around after he’s already been turned down several times.”

“You have no idea how beautiful you are, do you?”

She scowled. “A means to an end. Nothing more. Could be gone in a heartbeat.” Her eyes changed, morphed into the color of sadness. Shame?

Probably still beating herself up about Korovin slipping away, so Steele kissed her pouty lips. “We’ll take him down. It’s just not going to be tonight. Think of it as playing hard to get. If we went after them tonight, with no reason and after they were both dicks we’d do nothing but stir up suspicion. What we are going to do is rest, right after a nice hot shower. You’re still sticky…”
With my cum.

Her eyes grew wide.

Had he spoken that last bit out loud?

The thought that he might have didn’t freak him out nearly as bad as he thought it would.

He cupped her neck in both hands, tilting her chin up with his thumbs. “I’m going to take care of you now, Alayna. Do you understand?”

A shudder rippled through her as she answered quietly, “Yes Sir.”

Two little words. Two tiny syllables, yet they provoked the beast within him as if she zapped him with a cattle prod.

He took her mouth in a firm kiss, asserting his desire to dominate her. She melted into his touch, parting her lips for him to take her mouth.

A quick tug pulled the robe from her shoulders, revealing nothing but creamy skin.

She gasped against his lips as he skimmed his hands down her belly toward the juncture between her thighs.

“Damn baby, you’re so wet for me.” He drew circles over her tight little bud. “With me.” He pushed a thick finger into her spasming sex. “You’re wet with my cum.”

“Oh God…” she whimpered.

He pressed his palm against her clit just to hear her whimper. Her grip tightened on his arms, leaving half-moon shaped crescents from her fingernails. She moaned with her impending orgasm.

“What am I doing?” He pulled his fingers from her gripping heat. “You’re distracting me.”

“And. You’re. A. Tease,” she panted.

He kissed the tip of her nose then scooped her up into his arms. “Shower.”

“I can walk.”

“I know.” But he loved carrying her. Loved feeling her tucked to his chest where no one and nothing could get her. As long as his collar was around her neck, she was his to protect. And he loved that.

Loved.

Huh.

Wasn’t sounding too horrible all of a sudden.

He set her on her feet next to the shower and adjusted the stream of the duel showerheads to the right temperature before stripping off his own clothes and guiding her under the twin sprays.

“Take your hair down.”

A bemused smile curved her lips as she followed his order and took her hair down while he worked up a large lather of soap in his palms and cupped the swells of her breasts. His fingers slipped and slid over her curves as he washed the lingering scent of the club from her skin.

“Tilt your head back. I’m going to wash your hair.”

He poured a generous amount of shampoo in his hand and began to work the lather into her scalp. Working the copious volumes of suds down the long strands, he draped them over her breasts. She was his own personal mermaid, magical, beguiling, and ensnaring him with her beauty just like the sirens did with sailors that they lured to their ruin.

Once she was cleaned of sweat and soap, he knelt down before her. “Hold onto me,” he commanded as he lifted her leg and placed it over his shoulder. Spreading her lips, he lowered his mouth to her sex. “So beautiful.”

“God. Steele.”

Her hips shot forward to meet his seeking tongue. She moaned as his fingers slid back inside her wet heat and he slowly licked her clit. The swollen bud swelled further as he took it between his lips. Her heady taste was a cocktail of her unique flavor of along with a hint of his own salty essence. A reminder of the intimacies he shared with her and no other. That knowledge sent a surge of possessiveness that made his muscles tightened and his teeth ache with the need to mark her in other ways.

Alayna gripped his hair, her legs trembling with each tug. He fucked his tongue deeper inside her and she cried out. Reaching out blindly, she grasped onto the soap dish for support.

Faster and faster, his fingers moved until her sex clenched around his thrusting fingers.
