“Yeah, I know who they are. And now the girl’s dead.”
“So fuck that bitch! Where the nigga at? We need to get at him before he get at us,” Mario raged with his chest stuck out.
“Negro, they Dino’s people. The guy is his boy Rell and his girl Tiffany.” She raised her voice, tired of them not taking shit seriously.
Nobody said anything. They all just looked at each other. They knew they were caught up and how serious things had just become. First, the undercover cop; now, this conflict of interest.
“So now what?” Raven placed the controller down on the coffee table.
“I don’t know,” J-Rite said, shaking her head. “I know he gonna want revenge.”
“Yeah, true that! He gonna want blood! Just like if it was us, we would,” Tone cracked a halfway smile.
“Leesa and I decided it may be time to really lie low. We thinking it might be time for y’all all to break camp and head back to Detroit. What y’all think? We can set something up there.”
“Man, I don’t know.” Raven shrugged her shoulders undecided, ignoring the fact she was actually the one that’d murdered the undercover in the first place.
“Why? What’s wrong?” Mario gave his partner in crime the side eye.
“’Cause me and Benji talking about married, that’s why. Besides, I just moved my kids and Granny up here.”
“That’s what’s up? But maybe you can talk him into moving too. Your ass is about to be hotter than July if they find out about the cop . . . and Tiffany.”
Raven knew her best friend was on point in what she was saying, but didn’t care. She knew Mario couldn’t understand, but tried to make shit right. “Look, Mario, you know I love you, and we gonna always be tight, but I’m in love with Benji. Can’t you just be happy for me, bighead?”
“A nigga is happy. I just hope that you making the right decision staying up here in the long run, that’s all.”
“I am. Benji is really good to me, plus he loves my kids like they his.”
“Well, I hope so, because when you doing life in prison behind two murders, they gonna need all the love they can get,” Mario taunted, storming out the door to soothe his battered ego.
CHAPTER TWENTY
“Is it good to you, baby?” Q asked Leesa as he sat on his knees with his face buried in her love spot.
“Yeah, baby!” she moaned out, grabbing his head, pushing his face deeper so that his tongue would hit the right spot.
Q hadn’t had a lot of luck with women, no fault of his own. With him having a nice house, money, and cars, he attracted the wrong type of women. Usually, it was with women that wanted flings, showpieces, money, or just sex. He never wanted that from a woman; he always wanted to settle down. And having that type of want hurt him. He couldn’t understand why women didn’t want the same. He came from a two-parent family. He’d seen the love his parents shared for each other and wanted the same life for himself. Leesa was the perfect fit for him he thought, outside of the fact she needed to leave the streets alone.
He held her legs up and licked from bottom to top. The more he licked the more she moaned. Hearing her cries of pleasure made him want to do the best job he could. Leesa groped her own perky breasts and started pinching her nipples. Q was bringing her closer and closer to the edge. She hoped this moment lasted a lifetime. He stuck his fingers inside, and she moaned loudly.
“Stand up,” she begged in her feelings.
Wasting no time, Q stood up, and she kissed the tip of his dick. She could taste his juice. She started kissing his manhood softly, like she wanted him to beg. Finally she put it in her mouth, inch by inch.
“Oh shit.” His body lifted, and he was standing on his toes. He never felt anything so warm and nice in his entire life. He could have died right then and there. When he thought it couldn’t get any better, it did. She put all of him in her mouth. He looked at her and smiled. She looked beautiful. He was so hard he thought he was about to break. She sucked like it was nobody’s business. He didn’t know where she learned how to do this so good, but he wanted to thank the person that taught her.
In total freak mode, Leesa could feel him on the verge of exploding.
I’m working magic on this dick! Whoa, my pussy never been this damn wet!
She took her hands off him and started playing with herself.
Leesa eased his dick all the way out, then put the tip of him back in her mouth. It was apparent by his veins bulging, it was only a matter of time before he let loose.
“Can I have some pussy now?” He was ready to rape her if need be.
“Naw, maybe later, baby, but this all you getting now,” she giggled, pulling him down on the couch. Ready to get even freakier, she sat on his lap putting him in her tightest hole. Leesa didn’t know what had come over her. She rode him until she was on the verge of screaming. Suddenly, she hopped up—no warning.
“Bae, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing, baby.” She bent over getting in doggie style. “Now, come over here and finish what you started.”
* * *
“Dre, you hogging it all up,” a neighborhood fiend said to him as they were getting high.
“So what, bitch? This my shit. Now wait ’til I’m done.”
“I’m sorry, baby, I just wanted a li’l bit.” She tried a softer approach as her stomach grew nauseated.
“All right, damn, girl, come here; gimme your arm.”
The fiend eagerly did as she was told.
“Damn, I can’t find a vein. I’ll put it in your foot like last time if you want.”
She quickly took her shoe off. Dre shot the drug directly in between her toes and sat back watching her nod.
“This shit good, baby,” she said smiling a toothless smile. “Do you love me, Dre? Do you?”
Dre looked at her and started thinking to himself,
This bitch ain’t got no teeth, she ugly, and this bitch smell. This is what the fuck I’ve become. I used to fuck any bitch I wanted. Now all I can fuck is crackheads. This shit’s crazy. I gotta kick this shit and do it fast. I’m going to use the last li’l bit, then I’m done.
Disgusted with himself, he got up and walked over to the window. It was a hot day, and the block was full of people, especially hustlers. He could see all the up-and-coming hood stars, and it reminded him of when he and Dino were teenagers.
“Y’all just wait ’til I get back in the game. I’m going to show y’all how real niggas shine,” he mumbled half out of his mind. He pulled a half-smoked Basic out of his pocket, lit it, then took a long puff.
I wonder if Dino and the niggas still got love for me. If not, fuck ’em. I don’t need them niggas! Dino getting soft anyway. He should have been got J-Rite’s plug like he claimed he was gonna do from jump.
* * *
J-Rite had just gotten out of the shower when she received the call from Rhonda letting her know Meka was on her way to get high. J-Rite was hoping that she could get this over with so she could tie up all the loose ends. She grabbed her gun and jumped in the car. J-Rite was exhausted from all the things she had on her plate. Full of guilt, she had a hard time even lying next to Dino. She didn’t know if he knew or how close it was before he knew. Every minute was making her more and more stressed and paranoid. She was sitting at a red light on Division when a black van pulled up alongside of her. A guy suddenly jumped out. Before J-Rite could do or say anything, he stuck a gun in her face.
“Bitch, get the fuck out! Hurry the fuck up, bitch! Check this motherfucker in!”
J-Rite got out and started walking backward. He shoved her out of the way and hopped inside her vehicle. The van he jumped out of screeched off. Before he could get away, J-Rite whipped out her pistol and shot through the back window twice. The driver lost control and crashed into a telephone pole. Infuriated, she ran up on the van and shot twice more. Hearing police sirens coming her way, J-Rite luckily saw Sean coming around the corner. “Hey, grab this and get rid of it,” she demanded, handing the firearm off to him.
The great hustle gods had to be watching over her, because no sooner than Sean ran off, the police pulled up. J-Rite’s perfect plan of getting paid in Grand Rapids was starting to unravel. She had butterflies in her stomach. She wanted to throw up.
“Freeze! Put your hands up, lady, and don’t fucking move.”
“I ain’t did shit! They just carjacked me,” she insisted with her arms in the air.
A fat white cop ran up on her with malice. “Lay your ass on the ground! Now! Lie down!”
His partner, a young black guy, walked up behind her even more aggressive than his colleague. “I got you covered. Watch this sneaky looking thug!”
I hope Sean got that gun stashed,
J-Rite thought as they handcuffed her, throwing her in the rear of their squad car without hearing her side of the incident.
When they got her down to the station, they fingerprinted her and put her in a cell. When she walked in, she smelled urine, and that made her dizzy. The lights were dim and the place was filthy. Thankfully, she was the only person in the cell.
This some real bullshit! I gotta get the fuck outta here.
J-Rite wasn’t so much worried about catching a case, getting into it with anybody, or getting hurt. Her only concern was taking care of Meka before she fucked the entire team over.
I gotta call somebody and get the fuck back on the streets.
She walked over to the pay phone, picked it up, and wiped it off.
“Fuck,” J-Rite yelled, slamming the receiver down. She realized that she hadn’t memorized anyone’s numbers but one person. Picking back up the phone, she dialed a number that she was wishing she didn’t have to call. The person on the other end picked up. J-Rite heard the operator ask if they accepted the charges. They quickly accepted. “Thanks, Asia, for accepting the call.”
“What the hell are you doing in jail?”
“I got picked up on some bullshit!”
“Are you all right?”
“Yeah, I’m good. I need you to take care of something for me if you still up here in Gun Ru.”
“Yeah, what is it? Even though you don’t fuck with me like that.”
J-Rite didn’t have the time or option to cuss Asia out right now. She needed her to do exactly as asked. “Look, I need you to find my sister and tell her where I’m at.”
“Yeah, okay,” Asia happily agreed, wanting to be able to have a one-on-one face-to-face meeting with Leesa, who she knew had the plug, for months on end. Now was her time. “I got you, J, but you gotta promise to put me on when you touch back down.”
It was two in the morning when J-Rite finally got to her cell. There were about twenty other women in the unit. She had talked to Leesa and was told she would have a lawyer first thing in the morning. She started making up her bunk, and the girl that shared the cell with her woke up.
“What up? I’m Shay.” She was honey brown, five foot six, and 130 pounds, mostly in her chest.
I gotta watch my back
. “What up? I’m J-Rite.”
“J-Rite. I heard that name before.” Shay said she was waiting on the feds to come pick her up on a case that she caught. They were holding her here until she finished trial. J-Rite didn’t tell her too much. She’d watched enough of
48 Hours
to know that sometimes they put undercover cops or informants in the cell to get dirt on you. She knew at this point they didn’t really have a case on her so there was no need to help them build one. After she and Shay talked for a while, J-Rite decided to get some sleep the best she could. She knew Dino was probably worried sick about her.
“Jessica Sanders! Sanders!” She was awakened by a deputy calling her name the next morning.
“I’m Sanders.”
“You have court,” a female deputy said to her as she did her rounds.
After J-Rite washed her face and brushed her teeth, she was taken to a holding cell waiting for court. There were five other girls packed in the small area. After sitting there for an hour, a male stepped to a small window and called her name.
“I’m Sanders,” J-Rite spoke up stepping to the window.
“Sanders, I’m your attorney Jason Jefferies. I was hired by Leesa Jones. She’s waiting out in the courtroom.”
“Look, all that is good, but can you get me a bond?”
“I don’t see why not. They don’t really have anything on you. From what I can tell, this is a weak case. What’s about to happen is we going out in the courtroom and they gon’ present what they have, then I’m going to do my part. Then I’ll try to get you home. Is there a certain amount of money that you can’t afford to pay for bail?”
“No.”
“All right, let’s go.”
J-Rite was anxious. She was led in the courtroom by two deputies. Once inside, she looked around. Everybody was there for support but Dino. The judge let the prosecutor speak, then J-Rite’s attorney said what he had to say.
“Attempted murder? There’s no proof of that.”
“Well, we have a witness willing to testify. The victim is in the hospital.”
When J-Rite heard that, she got nervous. Her stomach was doing flips. It had been hurting since she got arrested. After being giving an extremely high bail, she was led out of the courtroom. When she got back to the cell she started throwing up.
What the fuck wrong with me? I gotta get to a doctor when I get outta this stankin’ motherfucker!
* * *
“Damn, Monique, this shit got me pissed. How the fuck could a nigga play me like this?” Dino said.
“You want some head, baby? You know that always make you feel better.”
That’s all this bitch thinks about is sex—nothing more, nothing less.
“Naw, I’m good on all that.”
Dre had hurt Dino very bad. They had a joint account set up for emergencies. Dre had gone and took the money out to get high. Even though half of the cash did belong to him, it was the point and principal. “Yo, did you call Rell and Marlon like I asked you to or what?”
“Yeah, I did, boy, and you ain’t got to keep asking me that. I’m not stupid like that other ho you keep fucking.”
“Oh my God! I’m getting tired of your damn mouth!”
“You wasn’t getting tired of it when I was swallowing dick, your balls, or you was slow nutting in it. But you know what? I’m starting to think that this relationship done ran its course. Maybe we should just call it quits.”
“Is that what you want to do?” Dino asked, hoping deep down inside that she didn’t really mean what she was saying.
“Naw, I don’t, but you keep taking your problems out on me, and that’s foul as hell.”
He didn’t mean to treat her bad. However, he didn’t have time to cater to her all-over-the-place emotions. “Okay, my bad. I’ll get off that bullshit, but, baby, can you please call them guys back and tell them I said get their fucking asses over here right now!”
Ironically, the phone rang before Monique picked it up. “Hello,” she said answering it.
“Hey, Monique, can I speak to Dino. This is Marlon.”
“Yeah, hold on.”
“Yeah, what’s up? I been calling your punk ass!”
“Nigga, get your face out of the pussy and come through. We got a big problem brewing.”
“Where are you at?” Dino asked while putting on his sneakers.
“I’m at the spot.”
“Cool, I’m on my way.”
When Dino pulled up to the spot, Marlon and Rell were talking to a short, stocky guy standing next to a Silver Tahoe. The guy’s back was turned so Dino couldn’t see his face. Dino got out and started walking toward them. “What’s up, nigga?” Dino said as he and Marlon stood face-to-face.
“Yo, fam, he repping the new owner of the building.”
When Marlon said that, the guy turned around. “What up? I’m Benji,” he made it known with a hardened look. “And I’ma cut to the chase. It’s my understanding that y’all running a nice li’l operation. The deal y’all had with the previous owners, we can have the same thing.”
Dino wanted to tell him to go fuck himself! There was something about Benji he just didn’t like. But he knew that if he did that, it would put him in a bad place. He didn’t need more headaches or beef right now. “Can we get a few days to, you know, think it over?” he asked, upset for having to even consider the deal.
