Prologue

They say some pleasures are eternal. Cassandra Jameson doubted the belief. In fact, she believed the phrase was coined by some slobbering man with a hard on the size of a small gherkin as he crawled off a less than satisfied woman who’d been expecting something a little larger and with more substance.

At least, that’s all she ever got from the men she dated for the sheer pleasure of getting laid. Well, that and laying flat on her back as they pumped her cunt until their cock exploded into her. Then it was over without a care as to whether or not she’d actually climaxed or had even come close to it, which she usually never did. A man that knew how to satisfy a woman was a myth like the Yeti.

Heck, she got more action from the ‘life-like’ battery-operated dildo she kept bedside. Once the guy left, the humming started. Maybe that was her problem…she expected the real thing to perform up to her own expert manipulations.

What she wouldn’t give to feel the sweet vibrations against her clit right this minute. The tip, like that of a penis, bumping to enter her cunt and give her the pleasure she continuously craved lately. It was as if being here in the shop had turned on a need inside her more then she’d ever felt in the past.

She spread her legs at the first hint of pulsing heat and moisture. Her hand slipping inside her panties, her inner core reacted wickedly to the stroking of her fingertips against her hard clit. Cassandra gasped just on the brink of coming.

“Geez, CJ, you wanna give it a rest? We’re about to open the doors here.”

Cassandra sighed in surrender. “It would have been a good one, Paige.”

“Yeah, well we’ve got people lining up outside here. Can it wait until later?” Paige Matteson opened the shades one by one. The sun was setting in the west, casting golden rays through the windows. “You wanna give us a bad name before the end of the night?”

“Have it your way, Paige.” Cassandra got up from the antique settee, straightening her skirt before taking her assigned spot behind the cash register. “Let the masses in.”

Why did she ever let Paige talk her into buying this crumbling old building and opening the shop? What did she know of lotions and candles? Very little, and that was being generous. It was the legend of a sexy haunting that attracted her.

After all, a shop once rumored to be a sex shop would naturally have a sexy specter. And she believed in all things metaphysical. She had heard rumors about how past shop owners had been “chased” from their places of businesses, leaving them in ruin.

Rumors consisting of a business and its owner over a hundred years ago that offered pleasures of all types existed. A person could get anything from the finest chocolate to imported coffees to whatever the buyer could imagine in the way of pleasure…especially female buyers.

The tales of a sexually provocative past haunting didn’t really scare Cassandra; she believed in things she couldn’t see…like sexual fantasies. Paige on the other hand didn’t believe spirits walked the Earth, let alone in their new shop. She’d been so amused by the stories that she’d suggested naming their business after the most notorious rumor…Eternal Pleasures.

Chapter 1

Six Months Later

Cassandra stared at the man in black that seemed to have suddenly materialized inside their shop. How Cassandra missed him, she’d never know. She hadn’t heard the bell above the door jingle; her head buried in one of the oldest erotica books she’d found tucked away in the back on one of the store shelves.

From under the black wide-brimmed hat, hair the color of midnight reached just above his collar. Eyes of azure pierced right through her out from under the brim. Her heart skipped a beat as she stared back at him; he was the mirror image of the main character described in one of the stories in her book.

He sauntered through the shop with the ease of someone who’d been there many times before as he looked at the array of books and candles housed on the shelves. One would think he was a regular customer. No, she would have noticed him if he had been in the store before. Probably would have had several different fantasies in her upstairs room, late at night when the moon and stars…

Spellbound, she just stared at him absorbing the intensity of his presence.
It’s now or never, before he walks out the door.
“Can I help you?” Unable to move an inch and her heart pounding, she waited behind the counter for any morsel of a response he chose to give.

“Just browsing,” he said, not giving her a second look.

Having him brush her off didn’t set well, but then when had a man ever been spellbound by her sensual presence? Try never.

But he wasn’t here looking for anyone’s sensual presence. He was ‘just browsing’, which from her experience usually meant looking for something but didn’t want the clerk to know what because they were embarrassed. At least that’s what she’d come to understand it meant over the past several months of hearing “just browsing.”

“If it’s something in particular, maybe…”

“No, thank you. I usually help myself when I find something I want, or that has coaxed me to it.”

The words pointedly full of sex, the admiring gaze he pinned her with pierced through her making her believe he referred to more than her offer of help. Her body heated in reaction at the idea that maybe, just maybe, he’d found her spellbinding too.

He tipped his head slightly and walked out the door without a sound, pausing for a moment at the window for one last look before vanishing from sight.

“Paige!” Cassandra shouted, running to the window to see which way he’d gone. She found no one on the walk. The setting sun lit the street enough to see a person pass by. How strange. “Paige!”

Paige peeked out from the backroom. “For cryin’ out loud, CJ, the whole block can hear you bellowing.”

“We’ve been here, what, six months now?” Cassandra opened the shop door, continuing to peer down the street to no avail. He’d vanished. No one just disappears.

“Happy to say longer than anyone else who’s occupied this place, and don’t change the subject. Why were you yelling and what are you looking for?” Paige stood next to her, peering down the empty street as well.

“And in that time nothing out of the ordinary has happened, right?” Cassandra stepped back inside, closing the door.

“If you’re referring to the so called hauntings, no. Nothing other than you not masturbating all the time has happened. Are you trying to tell me something weird just happened?”

“Something, or someone very…oh never mind.” Cassandra looked one last time out the window. Satisfied no mysterious, dark stranger lurked in the shadows, she returned to her place on the settee.

“Never mind!” Paige thumped down beside her, moving the old book out of the way. “I don’t think so, what’s going on in your head?”

Cassandra leaned back, her head resting on the back of the settee. She took a deep breath. Where would she start? She’d been reading that book when there he stood, just inches from her. The man she’d been reading about came to life just like that. She could still feel the heat of his gaze. At least her imagination let her believe it was the man written about on the pages. Paige, with all her practicality, would never understand…let alone believe her.

“I just thought I saw someone I might have known, that’s all.”

“And you were so amazed by this that you hollered for me? Not a chance, friend. Spill it and spill it now.” Paige sat caressing the book Cassandra had been reading like it was a lover to be stroked.

Jealousy seethed through CJ like a tidal wave. She wanted that book and what was in it for herself. She’d not share it with Paige, friend or not.

“Yeah, I thought it was one of the losers I’d told you about.” CJ stood, walking away from Paige and the book, her mind scrambling for an explanation she didn’t really want to give. “You know, the kind that slams into you from behind, drains himself, pulls out, and then leaves you horny as hell,” she blurted out.

Now, I’ve got her attention…maybe this little diversion from the truth will work.

“You mean the one who kept yelling ‘oh baaaaabeeeee’?”

Giggling, she couldn’t help being amused by the dead on imitation, and it melted her stress. “Yep! That’s the one.”
The book, I’ve got to get that book back.
“I never thought I’d see him again, that’s for sure.” CJ locked her gaze on the book in Paige’s hand.

“If he shows up again, don’t wait until he’s out the door before you get me. I’ve got to see this guy for myself.” Paige dropped the book onto the coffee table without a thought. How could she treat an old book so thoughtlessly, when all Cassandra wanted to do was drink in the words?

“Yeah, you bet.” CJ slipped over to the settee, watching Paige return to her counting of the inventory in the backroom.
I shouldn’t have lied to her, but how do you explain to someone, your best friend no less, that a hot man just vanished into thin air.
Nope, telling the little white lie was much better. This sexy man she wanted to keep to herself for a little bit longer.

CJ pulled the book to her chest and prayed closing time would come quickly. She had a date with a certain master, and she didn’t want to keep him waiting.

“Night, CJ.”

“Night, Paige.”

Cassandra heard the door to Paige’s bedroom close. She didn’t think Paige would ever retire for the night. She kept yapping about the inventory and how they should stock more sexually oriented items. Or at least the things that she heard sold well, like body chocolate, candle sticks, edible panties, and lickable lotions…wait! Candlesticks? Why would any one…on second thought, Cassandra didn’t want to know.

Instead, she gathered up the book she’d been reading, locked the apartment door then turned out the lights. Since she lived in an old warehouse district now, there wasn’t any need for window coverings. With the moon bright and not a cloud in the sky, Cassandra had no problem finding her way across the Victorian furnished flat.

Once she stepped across the threshold and shut her own bedroom door, Cassandra stripped out of her clothing. Her body already responded to the aspect of reading more of the dusty old book of Victorian tales. She turned on the small bedside light and crawled into bed.

Flipping open the book to the page where she’d left off, Cassandra snuggled deep into the coverlet like a pussy ready for a nap in the sun, and began to read words written so long ago.
