Cash kissed my forehead then the bridge of my nose before
softly kissing my lips. “You can trust me, Savannah. I’m not a cheater. I’d
never cheat on the girl I love.”

As we walked back into the salon, hand in hand, I feel like
Cash can be trusted. Troy and Brandon say that I’m too trustworthy but my heart
is telling me that Cash is the real deal. I believe in giving people the
benefit of the doubt. I’ll trust my man until he gives me a reason not to.

Brittany was sitting in Brianna’s chair when we walked in.
Matching shit eating grins spread across her face and Troy’s when Cash and I hit
the salon floor, hand-in-hand.

“Sheila!” Troy yelled to the receptionist. “Pop a couple
bottles. Looks like we have some celebrating to do!”

I was glad that the salon wasn’t as packed as it usually is.
With the exception of Sky, I know that the stylists are genuinely my friends.
Many of them know about the Jacoby situation. It’s fitting they they’d be the
first to know about me and Cash.

“You guys,” I announced with my own wide grin, “in case you
haven’t put two and two together, this is my boyfriend, Cash.”

A round of cheers and applause echoed through the salon,
along with a chorus is “finally!” and “it’s about time you got a real man!”
Luckily for me, Troy and his employees do a lot of celebrity hair so they’re
used to Hollywood’s rich and famous being in and out of the salon. They don’t
get startstruck very often.

“Little Bit over there,” Troy pointed to Brittany, “is going
to be working with me on the weekends, sort of like an apprentice so y’all
better get used to seeing her, her over protective big brother, and their
entourage often. They’re family now.”

I watched Cash as he made his way around the salon,
introducing himself to each of my friends. I glanced at Troy and giggled. I’m
excited to let everyone know about us. Everyone loves Cash Myers. I genuinely
hope that when the time comes for him to meet the rest of the Ford family,
things go better than when he met my parents. I’m still waiting on him to tell
what they discussed at their meeting though. I’m sure he will.

“I don’t know if I should be PO’d or overjoyed,” Amy said as
she glared at me through her webcam. “I cannot believe you’ve been dating Cash
Myers all summer and didn’t tell me.”

I plopped down on my bed and apologized again. “I wasn’t
sure if we were going to actually do it,” I confessed. “If Cash was just a
regular guy, I would have told you in a heartbeat.”

After the fundraiser last night, I was too tired to call Amy
and tell her what had transpired in Cash’s car, but she was the first person I
talked to this morning. With tonight being my first official date with Cash, I
had to let my other best friend in on my secret before the rest of the world
finds out.

“I should have suspected something was up with the two of
you,” Amy shook her head. “You looked awfully comfortable with him in New York.”

“You know me, Amy. I don’t get flustered or nervous often,
but this is Cash Myers we’re talking about here. You, better than anyone, knows
what that means to me. These last few months have felt like a dream. The fact
that I can say that I’m dating Cash doesn’t even make sense.”

“I understand completely. But didn’t you expect him to be
the type of guy you’d fall for? I mean, come on, Savannah,” she said. “We’ve
been listening to his music, reading his interviews, and going to one show
after another for eight years. We knew the type of man he was before we met
him. You know the basics of his personality or else you wouldn’t be such a
fangirl. There are artists that we like because of their music and artists we
love because of who they are as people and musicians. I like Justin Timberlake,
but you don’t see me crisscrossing the country for him like I do for Cash. You
knew there was something special about Cash long before you kissed him. You
kissed him because of that, not despite it.”

“Brandon says I have to put his celebrity to the side and
see him as a regular guy.”

“Brandon’s full of shit,” Amy howled loudly. “There’s
absolutely no way that’s possible. You’re in love with Cash Meyers and there’s
no way in hell you’re going to pretend that doesn’t mean anything. If your
relationship is going to work, then you have to accept that he’s a celebrity
and deal with it.” Amy paused and shook her head. “There is nothing regular
about Cash Myers. And if I didn’t love my husband as much as I do, I’d be
jealous as hell.”

I beamed at my friend.

“What is that look for?” she asked.

“Amy,” I said slowly. “My boyfriend is our favorite artist
of all time. Do you know what this means?”

“What?”

“We don’t ever have to pay for concert tickets or merch
again!” I squealed. “We can literally go to every show that we want to!”

“Insert *fangirl squeal*,” Amy laughed.

We both began to giggle like teenagers. I felt giddy as I
fell onto my pillows and kicked my feet in the air.

“O-M-G, you’ll be able to hear his new music before anyone
else. O-M-G, you’ll be able to be in the studio when he’s recording.”

“We,” I corrected her. “Don’t you think that being the best
friend of your favorite artist’s girlfriend has its perks? And Cash likes you
and Jason so I’m sure we’ll be spending a lot of time together.”

“Oh Banana,” Amy gushed. “This is the best day ever. I’m so
happy for us.”

I rolled over and looked at my friend on my computer screen.

“I’m in love, Amy. I’m a hundred percent in love with that
man. Like, I’d marry him and give him babies tomorrow if he asked me tonight.
It just feels right.”

“When you know, you know,” Amy practically whispered with
tears glistening in her eyes. “You better not run off and get married without
me. I’m so happy for you. You deserve to find happiness again.”

“Thank you.” I was starting to cry too.

I feel slightly unprepared about “going public” with our
relationship, but Amy is right. When you know, you know, and I know that Cash
is the man I’m supposed to be with. What anyone else thinks, my parents
included, does not matter.

Chapter 25: City Love

As Cash rifled through his closet trying to find the perfect
date night outfit, he was feeling nervous and apprehensive. The fast that he
hadn’t mentioned Victoria’s pregnancy to Savannah was bothering him. He had
planned on telling her while they were sitting in his car, but he lost his
nerve. He didn’t like keeping secrets from her, but he wasn’t ready to deal
with the repercussions. He had, however, told Victoria about Savannah.

Much to his surprise, she wasn’t entirely happy that he was
dating someone else, despite the fact that she was still with the guy she
cheated on him with. Maybe her pregnancy was affecting her emotions because
there wasn’t a single logical reason for her to be upset. Cash tried to figure
out why she was upset about him moving on but gave up on that puzzle. He couldn’t
figure out why she insisted that she and Savannah meet either. Even if Savannah
was aware of and cool with him having a kid with Victoria, Cash was in no hurry
to put the two of them in the same room together for any reason.

He just wanted tonight to go well. He put a lot of thought
into their first date, including toying with the idea of hiring security for
the evening. In the end, he decided against it. Being out in public with the
paparazzi following their every move was going to be overwhelming enough for
Savannah. He didn’t want to make her even more uncomfortable by adding two
burly security guards to the mix.

Cash finally decided on black Armani slacks and a royal blue
Armani button down shirt. The clothes fit him so well that he could have been
walking the Armani runway in Milan instead of admiring his reflection in his
bedroom mirror. He adjusted his belt and chuckled to himself. Savannah would be
surprised that he broke out the Armani underwear too. He usually went commando
when they were together. She appreciated the easy access.

When Cash walked into the living room to leave, Brittan was
sprawled out on the living room sofa with her best friend, Jill. They had a
giant bowl of caramel popcorn between them. Brittany was scrolling through
their Netflix queue even though Cash knew they were about to start a
Supernatural
marathon for the third time.

“Don’t you look nice,” Jill teased. “You should shower more
often.”

“He has a big date,” Brittany explained. “He even pulled the
Phantom out of storage and hired a driver.”

“What?” Jill screeched. “She must be pretty special if you’re
bringing out the Rolls Royce for a first date. Did Victoria ever get to ride in
the Rolls?”

“Nope,” Brittany answered with a smug grin.

Cash just shook his head at the nosy teenagers and looked
around for his keys and cell phone.

“Don’t have any boys in my house,” he instructed before
closing the front door behind him.

Brittany wasn’t that big of a rule breaker but he still gave
her the same instructions whenever she was left alone in the house. She wasn’t
going to get him on a technicality. He’d played that game with his mother often
when he was sixteen.

Savannah lived thirty minutes away in North Hollywood so
Cash relaxed against the soft leather seats of his Rolls Royce Phantom. He
couldn’t believe that he was feeling nervous. It wasn’t like he and Savannah
hadn’t been spending all of their free time together. He knew her, every inch
of her. He just wanted to everything to be perfect tonight. She deserved more
than hotel rooms and sex in his apartment. She deserved the world and he was
determined to give it to her.

****

Cash’s words caught in his throat when Savannah opened the
front door. He’d been all over the world and had never seen someone so
beautiful. From head to toe, Savannah was drop dead gorgeous. Her red and gold
dress reminded Cash of the dress J-Lo wore at the Grammys with Puffy. It hugged
every one of Savannah’s curves like it was competing with Beyoncé for most
bootylicious. Savannah looked like she belonged on the arm of a superstar.

“Damn, you look incredible!”

Savannah smiled and twirled around. “I had to step my game
up if I’m going to be out in public with you.”

Cash wrapped his arm around Savannah’s waist and led her to
his car.

“Is that...you didn’t tell me you drove a Phantom!” Savannah
squealed. She ran over to the car and slowly ran her hands over its sparkly
clean exterior.

“You can look at it. You can touch it. But never...ever ask
to drive it,” Cash joked.

Savannah turned around. With a devious smile, she said, “All
I ask is that, when the time comes, I get one of these in red as a push gift.”

Cash wrapped his arms around his lady and kissed her neck.
“Oh, so you want to have my baby?”

“Maybe.”

“Let’s go,
Maybe
. I’m about to show you what dating a
celebrity means.”

For dinner and drinks, Cash had reservations at Cut, located
in the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. All through dinner, Savannah kept Cash laughing
with her random
Pretty Woman
quotes.

“I have lived in L.A. for ten years,” Savannah said as she
bit into her filet mignon, “and I’ve never been in this hotel.”

“Why not? It’s like right down the street from your house.”

“Cash, I make good money doing what I do, but not Beverly
Wilshire money. This is some millionaire stuff, right here. You got me in here
thinking I need to do something special for you now,” she grinned. “Maybe I
need to learn how to cook.”

“Savannah!” Cash shouted in disbelief. “You don’t know how
to cook?”

“Nope,” she said shaking her head. “My mother and
grandmother can burn in the kitchen. Everything from soul food to five star
restaurant quality. Ashley and I burned water before. I don’t know why we
didn’t get the cooking gene. It’s really not fair.”

“I can cook,” Cash announced. “When I was growing up, I got
so tired of eating frozen food because Mom worked all the time. When I
complained about it to my aunts, they basically told me that if I wanted to eat
better, then I’d better learn to cook. So I started watching the Cooking
Channel and learning. It kind of evolved into something I’d do for my mom
because she worked two jobs. I cooked every night.”

“You’re lying,” Savannah laughed. “I’ve been in your house,
Cash Myers. You and Brittany never have any food! All you eat is frozen pizza
and quick ten minute meals that Brittany cooks.”

“I can cook,” Cash protested. “But I’m usually too busy so
Brittany and I make do and eat out a lot.”

“Maybe you can teach me how to cook,” Savannah suggested.

“I’d like that.”

After dinner, Cash and Savannah took a walk down Wilshire.
Hand-in-hand, they walked and talked, mainly about growing up. Cash spotted a
few members of L.A.’s paparazzi but he made sure not to alert Savannah that
people were following them.

Knowing her affinity for ice cream, Cash took Savannah to
Bennett’s, one of the best ice cream spots in Los Angeles. She licked her
salted caramel ice cream as if she was eating the most delectable dessert in
the world. The moan that escaped her throat when Cash gave her a taste of his
chocolate raspberry was almost orgasmic.

It was still early in the night when they left Bennett’s.
Cash received a text from a fellow musician that one of the artists that he
worked with frequently was playing a show at the House of Blues so he decided
to take her there even though he knew that the place would be crawling with people
with cameras. Everyone one who was anyone frequented the House of Blues,
especially when Aiden Tyler or any member of his band was playing.

However, Savannah was openly dating a celebrity and if she
wanted to have any fun in L.A. with him she had to get used to the paparazzi.
All the glitz and glamour of Beverly Hills came with a price that Cash had been
paying for years.
