She gazed into his eyes. “I’d love to have a family with you.”
He caressed the edge of her jaw with his hand. He cradled her head and bent to kiss her petal-soft lips. The sweet kiss curled his toes. He loved the taste of her. He couldn’t get enough of her kisses.
She sunk her hands into his hair. She pressed her warm body against his and whispered, “Why don’t we try right now?”
“To start a family?” Stryde asked.
She bit the edge of her lip and nodded. He responded by lavishing her lips with a torrent of kisses. His lips glided across her throat and down her silky breasts. As she lay back, her hair swirled to form a halo around her head. She truly was an angel, his angel.

She lay in the circle of his arms, waiting for her breath to return. When she could finally speak, she said, “You’re incredible.”
He kissed her softly before rolling to lie on his side. He leaned on his good arm. With a dreamy look in his eyes, he said, “I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
She smiled and laid a hand on her belly. She had no doubt that Stryde would be a good father to their children.
“I love you,” she whispered.
“I love you too… maybe both of you.” He gently laid his hand on her belly.
As she gazed into his shimmering eyes, she knew she’d never be alone again.
Mazus stood on the granite ledge overlooking the gate to the Dark Moon Pack’s den. Lightning slashed through the sky. Frigid rain pelted his face and hands, but he barely felt it. He was far too fixated on revenge.
He should have been chosen to be the new alpha, not Nosh. As far as he was concerned, the wolf was still wet behind the ears, far too young to take on such an important role. He couldn’t understand why the others had been so quick to accept him.
Mazus knew he was destined for greatness. He’d do whatever it took to claim his destiny, even if it meant killing the only wolf who stood in his way.
