He opened the medicine cabinet above the sink and found a condom. With trembling fingers, he ripped it open, rolled it down his almost-painful cock. She placed her palms flat on the wall, and he watched as her back arched. The sight was too hot, too tempting to believe, and any thought he’d had of teasing her flew right out of his head.

“Maggie,” he said again, pleading now. “I need to be inside you, baby.”

“Yes,” she said. “Don’t make me wait…”

Joe grabbed her hips, pulling her back, opening her to him completely. She froze, aching for him to enter her. She was surprised when he gently took her chin in his fingers and turned her to face him. His kiss was tender, so tender that tears came to her eyes. When he pulled away and saw her tears, he smiled at her.

“I love you, Maggie.”

“Oh, Joe.” Her heart stopped, started again at double-time. “I love you too.”

Joe leaned forward now, his one hand on top of hers on the wall, his fingers entangled with hers. He rubbed his cock against her wet, swollen folds and she groaned, wanting him so much it almost hurt. Her forehead was resting on his muscled forearm, and she shut her eyes, barely breathing.

Please, Joe. Please.

When he took her in one hard, thick thrust, it was everything she’d been fantasizing about, and it was better than she remembered
. Her whole body welcomed him inside, and he felt it: she was drenched, so hot and tight, and her pussy muscles clamped down on him within seconds.

“Oh, God, baby,” he groaned. “You coming already?”

Maggie couldn’t answer him. Her second orgasm exploded from out of nowhere, surprising them both. He plunged fast and hard, rubbing her clit, his fingers clenched on the wall between hers. As her moans turned to cries and then to screams, his own climax roared and rose. He struggled to hold off, but when she came, it sparked his own mindless need for release and relief. He drove in to her shuddering body, driving home.

He moved faster now, knowing that he was being rough, trying to stop himself, to slow down. But she was still moaning, still riding out her second orgasm, and he knew that his wild thrusts were prolonging it for her. When Joe came, he threw his head back and gave a torn, tortured shout, his chest heaving, his body near collapse. Every muscle tensed, strained, shook, and he saw stars…actual stars.

Jesus Christ… what the fuck was that? I think my head almost exploded. Both heads.

He heard Maggie now; she was sobbing, trying to catch her breath. Hoping to God that his legs would hold him up, he leaned forward and pressed kisses to her heaving shoulders. Joe pulled her tight to him, by some miracle keeping them both vertical.

“You OK?” he asked her. “Maggie?”

She nodded, pushed herself up a bit. He grunted, slowly slid out of her, hating to do it, but needing to brace himself with both hands now. She glanced over her shoulder at him and gave him a brilliant, shining smile that took his breath away. Yet again.

“That was incredible,” she said hoarsely. “I don’t think I’ve ever come so fast.”

“And I don’t think I’ve ever come so hard.”

Her eyebrows raised. “Yeah?”

“Oh, yeah.” Carefully, he turned her and she lay her head on his chest. “I almost passed out. No lie.”

She laughed. “That would have been a mess.”

“No kidding.” He pulled off the condom and threw it away, picked up their towels from the floor. He wrapped her up again, then draped his towel around his lower body. He kissed her fingers, pressed her hand to his heart. “Come on, baby. Dinner’s ready.”

“God, I forgot all about the food,” she said.

“Yeah, well… it may be a bit burnt. We might be stuck with sandwiches.”

Her eyes were warm as she gazed at him. “And what’s for dessert?”

Joe kissed her, his tongue licking her full lips, his hands in her hair. “What do you think?”

“You?”

“And you.”

Maggie grinned. “Sounds perfect.”

They’d just had two helpings of dessert after a slightly overdone dinner. Maggie was pulled up tight against Joe’s side, her curls tumbling warm and lovely over his shoulder. He was stroking her back, his fingertips soothing and gentle.

“So can I take you to lunch tomorrow?” Joe said. “And by ‘take you to lunch’, I mean ‘do you want to taste-test some menu ideas?’ I’m finalizing the menu this week.”

“I wish.” Maggie kissed him. “But I talked to Mia just before you and your Dad showed up at the studio. Turns out a surgical spot cleared on short notice, and so Nick’s surgery just got moved up to tomorrow. I’ll be with Mia in the waiting room for most of the day.”

“Oh, God.” Joe stared at her. “How are she and Nick doing?”

“Terrible.”

“Shit.” Joe shook his head. “Do you want me there with you?”

“No, honey. It’s OK. I know you need to work on the menu.”

“Yeah, but… I want to be there for you guys more.”

“Really?”

He sighed in mock exasperation. “Why do you doubt me?”

“I don’t.” She smiled. “I just want to be sure that
you’re
sure.”

“Am I sure that I’d rather be backing you up than in a restaurant, all by myself?” He ran his hand over her curves. “Yes, I’m sure. Totally.”

Maggie gazed up at him, seeing his gorgeous face properly for the first time. On it, he had an expression that she’d only ever seen when he was cooking. She blinked as she realized that Joe was feeling something that she’d always thought he was incapable of feeling anywhere but in the kitchen, when he was creating his own unique type of art. More than that, she knew that if she looked in a mirror right this minute, she’d see the same look on hers.

It’s the look of pure happiness.

“You happy, sweetness?” he asked, startling her, making her idly wonder if he could hear her thoughts.

“Can you tell that I am?” she said.

“Oh, yeah.” His blue eyes were soft. “I can tell.”

“You are too, right?”

His kiss was hot and tender, at the same time. “You have no idea.”

“But I do.” Maggie sighed, feeling sleep start to creep up on her. “I know exactly.”

Joe pulled her closer. “Sleep, baby. Have sweet, happy dreams.”

And there in the circle of his arms, his heart beating strong and steady against her cheek, she did.
