Love. Pure and simple. The agony and ecstasy of love coursed through her veins.

“Terrance?” she whispered with a smile.

He nodded and extended his hand out to her. He was more handsome than she remembered. His smile was broader. His dark brown eyes seemed brighter. His brown hair tickled his shoulders in careless waves.

Bianca took several tentative steps and wondered if she could even do such a thing. Could she do it? Did she dare? Could she take his hand and leave everything she knew behind? Every night since her return, all she could do was think of Terrance. Often she wondered if people could die of a broken heart, if she would be able to live without him. She gazed at his hand. Calloused and riddled with tiny scars, she wanted to know the story behind each mark. She wanted to kiss him and simply be by his side.

What about her parents? What would they say? What would they think? Would it be all right if she left them a note? Was there enough time?

She took a deep breath. Too much. Too many thoughts racing through her mind. Too many hearts to break. Too many decisions.

Not enough time. Never enough time.

Terrance stood before her, still patiently waiting for the answer to his unspoken question.

Could she do it?

Did she dare?

Yes,
I could.
