Bending forward and pressing my lips to the side of Ella’s head, I tiptoed away, picking at a suspicious stain on my white t-shirt as I did.

Which was why I bounced off Booth’s chest since I wasn’t paying attention.

“Oomph,” I grumbled, backing up.

Booth’s hands went out to steady me, holding onto both of my arms and bringing me close into his chest to keep me from falling straight on my ass.

“Whoa there, tiger,” Booth teased, a laugh in his voice. “Where are you going so fast?”

“I’ve got to hurry to make the nine o’clock door buster at Kohl’s,” I informed him. “She’s all yours for an hour. She’s been fed, changed and is now sleeping on my sweat shirt on the couch. Which is why I’m going to need you to give me yours.”

He sighed and let go of me, quickly yanking the sweatshirt that proclaimed him as a ‘Kilgore Fire Fighter’ up and over his head.

“Here,” he handed it to me. “Just don’t lose it.”

I narrowed my eyes at him.

“Since when do I lose anything of yours?” I asked, crossing my arms over my slightly engorged breasts.

“Since you lost your duck hunting jacket last week and had to wear mine,” He shot back, gathering the shirt up into his hands and pulling it on over my shoulders.

Even though I was fairly swimming in it, I snuggled deeper and inhaled deeply, breathing in the scent of him as I did.

“That was your fault,” I narrowed my eyes. “You were the one who put it in the truck, then forgot to move it back into my SUV when you realized you didn’t have enough gas to get you to the lake and back.”

He snorted. “If you didn’t let it get all the way down to empty, it wouldn’t have mattered which vehicle we took.”

My mouth dropped open and I leaned back in his arms, threading my hands down the sleeves and pushing each up past my elbow.

He yanked my sleeves back down, then rolled them up for me before patting my shoulders.

“Go,” he ordered, leaning down to give me a heated kiss.

I moaned, pressing into him slightly more before I pulled back with a sigh.

“Shit, I gotta go. I really want that coffee pot,” I explained. “I need it.”

He shook his head and stepped out of the way, sweeping his arm out in a grand gesture to wave me through.

I smiled and hurried past him, jumping only slightly when his hand met the meat of my ass.

“Ouch,” I tossed a glare at him.

He held his hands up. “I didn’t mean to.”

“Right,” I said, shaking my head. “Gotta go. Remember Ella needs to be changed before you lay her down in bed.”

I knew he was going to go back to bed, too.

Last night had been the crazy chaotic Black Friday rush, and he’d had to respond to not one, but five wrecks and two assaults.

“Love you, big boy!” I called, hurrying out to the garage.

Then came the real dilemma.

My eyes moved from my SUV to my husband’s truck. Back and forth I went before I smiled, easily coming to my decision.

I didn’t miss the sigh as I walked toward my destination.

Sliding into the truck, I tossed my purse into the passenger seat, buckled my belt and started it up.

The Cummins Turbo Diesel rumbled to life, shaking the entire truck with the force of the start, causing me to giggle.

My eyes turned to the garage where my husband was staring at me with comical understanding in his eyes.

I rolled the window down, staring at him until he spoke.

“Don’t wreck it,” he ordered.

I gave him a thumb’s up.

“And don’t hurt anyone,” he continued.

Another thumbs up.

Putting it into drive, I slowly started to pull out of the driveway. (Like all men, he had to back into his spot because that was the ‘safest’ way to get out fast should he need to).

I smiled as I felt the power just waiting to be unleashed in the accelerator.

“Why are you taking my truck again?” My husband yelled just as I was about to unleash the beast.

I turned to him, seeing him standing there in his work clothes with a look of knowing on his face.

I smiled at him and blew him a kiss. “Because it has that ‘
move bitch, get out the way’
vibe that I’m going for.”

He shook his head.

I winked at him and then I unleashed the beast.

Those Black Friday shoppers wouldn’t know what hit them when they saw the big black Dodge, lifted, with thirty-five inch tires and a bumper made for destruction.

Let’s just say, everyone moved out of my way.

Two hours later, I was just pulling out into traffic when my phone rang.

“Hello?” I answered, knowing it was Booth before I even answered it.

“Will you meet me at the fire station?” he asked. “I forgot to give the medic key and they can’t move it until I get there.”

“Sure,” I said. “But why do I need to meet you there?”

“Aaron’s here. I just wanted to shoot the shit with him for a few, and I didn’t want to do it with Ella,” he answered truthfully. “It’s too cold here.”

Rolling my eyes, I altered course to the fire station, pulling up five minutes later and parking the truck in the visitor’s parking spot right at the front.

The entirety of A-shift was standing outside looking at a new Tahoe with lifted tires that made it look a little bit mean.

I slid out of Booth’s truck, staring at the beauty in awe.

“Oh, that’s beautiful,” I whispered, being sure to keep my voice low so none of the men surrounding the SUV heard what I had to say. “Lucky fuckers.”

“What was that?” Booth asked, breaking away from the group and coming to me.

He had Ella swaddled up tight in a blanket that his mother had bought her.

She was asleep and dead to the world, safe as she could be in her daddy’s arms.

“Nothing,” I murmured, smiling down at my little mini me.

She had my
everything
.

Eye color. Hair color. Skin tone.

The one thing she did have of her father’s was the small patch of black right under her pupil, making it look elongated just like his.

He pulled me into his chest, his hand on the back of my neck as he did.

“Did you have fun?” he asked. “Spend lots of money?”

“I think I bankrupted us,” I admitted. “I’m pretty sure I just charged five hundred dollars onto my store credit card.”

“Uh oh,” he said. “That’s not good.”

I smiled, knowing he didn’t really care how much I spent.

He was used to my spending habits, knowing that I’d slow down if he needed me to.

Right now, however, I didn’t have need to.

With Booth’s job at the fire department, as well as his side job of the SWAT team, added in with my job at the hospital, we were doing pretty damn good.

“Yeah,” I shrugged unrepentantly.

“I bet I spent more than you, though,” he said.

My eyes widened.

“What?” I asked
. “How much more? And where?”

He took my hand, cradling Ella expertly in one arm as he did.

“Come,” he urged.

I followed, smiling at the few of the guys that I knew from the A-shift.

He pulled me all the way around the truck once before he stopped at the driver’s side door.

“Here,” he said, handing me a black key fob.

I blinked.

“What?” I asked
. “What’s this?”

“The key to your new truck,” he said. “So maybe now you won’t always try to steal mine.”

My mouth dropped open.

“What…how…why?” I stuttered.

Booth smiled at me.

“I didn’t like the Explorer,” he said. “It was shitty.”

I raised a brow at him.

“You were the one to pick the Explorer out,” I pointed out.

He shrugged. “I was, but I also should’ve known that it wasn’t you. You’re more lifted trucks and mudding rather than regular tires and street cruising.”

I agreed, but I also couldn’t fathom how he’d managed to accomplish buying me a car.

In an hour.

Without my knowledge.

“What’s going on?” I asked finally
. “Why?”

He smiled and turned to open the door, waving his hand in another grand gesture to allow me passage.

Woodenly, I walked to the open door, my belly starting to summersault as I got my first good look at the beauty.

“Ohh,” I cried softly. “It’s beautiful.”

I looked up, startled to see not only a moon roof in between the driver’s and passenger’s seat, but also one in the back seat as well.

It had all the bells and whistles that anyone could ever want on a new car.

I’d been putting off getting a new vehicle for more than a year now, and I knew it would have to happen sooner or later.

The Explorer we’d gotten was just one that was supposed to hold us over until we could find one we really wanted.

See, I had quite a bit of sentimentality when it came to my old Jeep.

Which was why the carcass of the Jeep now stood as a yard ornament in front of our house.

Booth had tried to have the thing taken to the scrap yard and had even succeeded in getting it there.

Then I’d found out and had immediately brought it back home.

Booth had thought I was crazy, but I couldn’t help it.

It felt like I was throwing a piece of our history and my soul away.

“How much did this cost us?” I whispered, tossing Booth a look over my shoulder.

He smiled and leaned in, gathering my hair around my neck and circling it with his hand to hold it away from my face.

Then he leaned down and skimmed his lips over the length of my shoulder and neck, back and forth until I was nearly a puddle of goo at his feet.

“Lots of blowjobs…lots and lots of blowjobs,” he teased.

***

I ran the tip of my tongue up the length of Booth’s cock, rimming the ridge of his cock head in slow, steady licks.

“Mother…fucker,” Booth gasped for breath.

“This is my first payment, right?” I teased him.

It’d been a little over eight hours since I’d been given my new beauty, and I was just now getting the chance to show him my gratitude.

Little Miss Daniela had woken up once we’d reached the house with a vengeance and let it be known that she didn’t appreciate taking naps.

Even more she didn’t like the fact that we put her down while we tried to let her nap.

She was daddy’s little girl all the way, and if she wanted held, Booth indulged her.

It was breathtaking to see, even though it turned out worse on me in the long run.

“Faster,” he ordered, growling the words so gutturally that I had to fight the urge to giggle. “Take me deeper, too.”

He moved, holding my head steady as he gave me more and more of his length.

I sucked hard, relaxing my throat to take him as deep as I could before I pulled back up.

On my fourth pass over his cock, Booth’s control snapped.

He yanked me back by my hair then shoved me sideways.

I rolled over with a laugh, presenting him with my ass.

“Hurry before the demon spawn wakes up,” I whispered.

He didn’t reply, only lined his cock up with my entrance, fed his cock inside of me with slow, precise movements, and then shoved my face down into the bed.

I reared back, giving as good as I was getting until the only thing that filled the room was the harsh
smack-smack-smacking
of our skin meeting.

Booth’s hand went to my ass as he tightened his hold, digging his fingers into the meat of my ass as he pumped harder and faster.

I closed my eyes and started to count the strokes in hope that I would last longer, but it didn’t work.

Yet again, I started to come after only a scant few minutes of our lovemaking, hopeless when it came to Booth.

I bit my lip harshly to stifle the scream that threatened to bubble out of my throat.

It didn’t seem to matter, though, when moments later Booth bellowed as he came, too.

Long moments later, as we both came back to ourselves, Booth started to laugh.

“What?” I asked huskily, rolling only my head so I could look at him.

“You,” he said.

“Me what?”

“You make me so fucking happy that I can’t seem to help myself sometimes,” he looked into my eyes.

My brows furrowed in confusion.

“What?” I pushed.

He shook his head.

“Nothing,” he got up and stepped into his pants.

It was then that the baby started to cry, causing him to disappear without another word.

That was, however, how he was.

He was so devoted to Daniela that it made my heart happy.

As I waited patiently for him to come back, I contemplated my life over the last two years.

Thought about all that had changed for me, good and bad.

I had the man that I loved with all of my heart. A job that was so awesome I never once hated to go to it, and a family to come home to at the end of a long, hard day.

It was everything that I could have ever wanted, and everything that I never hoped to have.

“You sleeping baby?” Booth asked.

I opened my eyes, unaware that I’d closed them as I thought.

“Yeah,” I whispered.

He leaned down and pulled me up to stand at the bottom of the bed.

“I love you,” he told me softly, pressing his lips chastely against mine.

“I love you too, Booth,” I sighed. “Thank you for coming home.”

He chuckled.

“You were here. How could I not?”

What’s next?

Vodka On The Rocks

Chapter 1

7-6-16

Tasha

“Why the long face?” A man’s deep voice jolted me out of my contemplation of the beer bottle in my hand.

I looked up to find
him
there.

Him being Casten Red, resident bad boy, biker dude.

The one that took delight in making sure he gave me a hard time.

I kind of liked it, though.

He didn’t treat me with kid gloves.

Not like everyone else did.

“Nobody wished me a happy birthday,” I lied.

He narrowed his eyes.

“Today is not your birthday,” Casten called me on my lie.

I grinned.

“I know. I was just trying to get you to buy my beers for the rest of the night,” I told him.
