on Landon, but then again he was right, Landon did betray him.

“Well, what can I say father except that shit happens,” Landon said mockingly.

“Well my son, you are from here on stripped of your powers. You will remain a demon, but I shall make you normal as possible. When you slip and do my work, then you will return home. Once there you will suffer a great amount indeed.” The Dark Lord said to Landon with a smirk on his face.

The Dark Lord raised his hand, as if waving away an annoying dog and Landon dropped to his knees. Landon was screaming in excruciating pain and I didn’t know what to do. We all stood there watching Landon wiggle and squirm. He was crying in pain, finally all screams ceased and he dropped to the floor, he appeared to be sleeping. I knew better. Tears formed in my eyes as I looked at the Dark Lord standing before me.

“What did you do to him you beast,” I screamed at him.

“I took his powers; he has no use for them and will earn them back in time. Do you really think that I would allow him to fight me? Hahahhaha….” He laughed like a crazy man. “No, I want him to fight me as a human, he will be reborn. However, he may just fall through the floor, when I take care of business and go back home to the Underworld. He will pay for his betrayal.”

“What business is it that you think you need to take care of?” I asked him willing the tears to stay back. I wanted to run to Landon and hold him. I wanted to tell him everything would be ok and that I loved him. I wanted to breathe the life back into his body.

“I will be taking your father and I will convert your mother. As for you, Elizabeth I want your powers and I will get them.” He said staring me down like a piece of meat. Whoa, what? Convert my mother? What the hell was he talking about?

“You? And what army?” I asked sarcastically.

“I don’t need an army; I can take care of you all on my own.” He said with a grin. “Now how should I do this?” He walked slowly around on his hoofed feet, with his finger tapping his chin. I looked over at my mother who was standing with her head held high, wearing a beautiful gold dress, she was far from scared.

My father was terrified, he knew what happened in the Underworld and he did not want to go back. I couldn’t blame him. Then I looked at my poor Landon, lying lifeless on the floor and I felt the burning build up. This is my family damn it, I am not about to allow this piece of shit to ruin everything great and dear to me.

I looked up at the Dark Lord my eyes starting to turn red and said through gritted teeth, “I am giving you the chance to turn around and go back in your rabbit hole right now.” I felt my mother draw closer to me.

“I have no intention to go without what you have stolen from me. You will suffer and be tortured, until I get your powers, Elizabeth. You won’t eat, you won’t sleep, and I will enjoy watching you all of eternity dying over and over and over again.” He said with a grin.

“Either you leave now or you will be falling into your rabbit hole, then spending eternity dying from embarrassment.” I said as I felt the heat rising higher in my body.

“We shall see.” He said seriously. His eyes became darker as he turned to face me.

“So be, let’s get this shit over with!” I screamed at him.

With that my father stood beside my mother and we raised our fire balls and cast them at the Dark Lord. He waved them off and we kept throwing them. My mother however, stood between us watching the Dark Lord and staring hard. What the hell is her problem? Why is she not helping us?

The Dark Lord waved his hand and slammed my father into the wall behind us. He was stronger than I expected. My father got up in a daze and took his place. The Dark Lord threw a black fire ball, catching me off guard and slamming me into the door frame.

The pain was horrible
and I knew that he broke a few bones. I felt the blood pouring down the back of my sweaty shirt.

A
s I tried to get to my feet, to save my parents, something happened while I stood there watching the Dark Lord. My mother was holding her shimmering ball of light, just playing with it in her hands, while staring at the Dark Lord. Then I saw it, he squinted.

My mother heaved it at him and hit him on the arm. He screamed out in anger cursing my mother. As he brought up his arm I could see the damage that was caused. It had turned to a
sh. I knew what we needed to do, in order to defeat the Dark Lord.

I walked up to stand next to my mother and she grabbed my hand. “Are you ready, Elizabeth?” she asked gently.

“Yes, yes I am,” I said with a tiny smile. I looked the Dark Lord square in the eyes and concentrated on my white light.

The white light
that healed my father, I knew it was there. I felt it, but usually only in the presence of my mother.

Holding my mother’s hand I felt her light go through my body and wrap around me. She continued to smile gently, as she was wrapped in our white light as well.

The Dark Lord tried to cast black flames at us, but he could not aim directly for our light was blinding him. I watched as he kept trying and trying but, failing miserably.

Then the most amazing thing happened. Twenty beautiful people enter the room through the burning walls, there long white dresses flowing freely behind them.

T
hey positioned themselves behind me and my mother. Their beautiful, feathery, white wings extended behind them. They cast their white light out at the Dark Lord. The light was so bright, I was having a hard time seeing myself.

The leader
of the group looked very familiar and I realized who it was. Julie was standing proudly, shinning away. Now, I understood completely. My mother and Julie were angels and they are my protectors.

My mother was never a witch and it was a cover up all along. My father knew what she was and the Dark Lord did, too. I just don’t think the Dark Lord knew, that she knew, she was an Angel. Guess again.

With the light blindingly bright the Dark Lord screamed in agony. I watched as he fell backwards in his rabbit hole. I told him he would fall and I know he will be spending eternity being embarrassed because he was defeated by Angels.

I am half demon and half Angel. I can kill or I can heal. As fast as the twenty angels appeared they quickly disappeared, only Julie stayed behind.

The house was caving in all around us, from the fire that the Dark Lord had brought with him. The walls were crumbling and the roof was starting to cave in. The floors were ablaze as well. We had to get out or we were all going to die.

I had my father help me get Landon on his feet even though he was not even conscience and we headed for the door. Thank goodness
, this had all went down in our living room, closer to the main door entryway.

My ribs felt broken and I know my father was in just as much pain as me. We got outside and laid Landon down. I grabbed a hold my father and Landon and concentrated on healing them both. My father, except from black ash, looked brand new and made over.

I felt ten times better and I felt renewed. Landon slowly opened his eyes and set up a little. I started crying and hugged him with everything I had in me, kissing him all over his face.
“I was scared I lost you,” I said with a happy heart.

“Ooooo but you didn’t, I did lose my powers though. I am normal as normal can get, but I will always be demon. Can you handle that, Elizabeth?” he asked with a look of concern.

“Oh Landon, I wouldn’t care if you were that damn rabbit. The one Alice went down the hole to catch up with. I still and always will love you,” I said crying and laughing at the same time.

Chapter 32

Julie and my mother stood close behind us. “Why didn’t you tell me?” I asked Julie while standing up, feeling hurt.

“Because Elizabeth, I was your protector. I looked after you and when I felt that you guys were preparing. I started preparing as well. Your mother and I have been trying to help change your father for years. We were trying to help break the curse and we knew you could break it!” Julie said wearing her long flowing white dress. Her white feathery wings were still extending out from her body and she was absolutely gorgeous.

“So I am half demon and half Angel?” I asked in awe and a little shocked.

“Yes, Elizabeth, you are.” She said with a grin.

“So, then why was I lied to about my mother being a witch?” I asked.

“Your father told you that because he knew that you wouldn’t believe you were an Angel. You didn’t bring him back from the Underworld, from just summoning him, but you brought him back with your faith. You defeated the Dark Lord as well with that same faith that has now made your family whole.” Julie was intrigued with all my questions.

“I understand I really do. Thank you so much for believing in me and helping me figure out who I was.”

We stood together now watching our mansion burn. A mansion that was built because of the deal, that my long time ago great grandfather, made with the devil. The curse that he bestowed on our family, in the 1800s, had indeed been broken.

I looked over at Julie, but she was nowhere to be seen. She had disappeared into thin air. I instead turn to face my mother.

“Will this mean that because I killed Lucas that I am truly a demon? And will I always have to look over my shoulder, waiting for someone to steal my powers?”

My mother stood contemplating for a few minutes. “You are more demon, then you are Angel, Elizabeth, but you do have that extra power to ward off your enemies. You need to use it for good not bad. I know you will make us proud regardless.

They will hunt you though because the demon powers you possess are extremely strong. Most know that if they can get it then they will be undefeatable. However, they were not banking on you knowing how to use your light of good doings.” My mother looked past me as tears formed in her eyes.

She watched as our home went up in flames. I looked at my father whom was crying silently and asked him, “Are you ok?”

My father looked at me with the most brilliant smile on his face! “Yes, yes I am. We can finally live the life that I have always dreamed of and not in that damned house, being a product of a curse.”

He engulfed me in a hug and we stood there and watched it burn. My car, our possessions, everything we owned, was dying in the fire that blazed before us. I was not sad though and I knew we would be ok.

I noticed something then, falling out of the sky. I watched as it fluttered to the ground and I slowly walked over and picked it up.

Landon was behind me, “What is that?”

I picked it up and looked at it as my smile grew wider. “Well, it is the picture of us from where we were waiting for it to dry.” I said. I held it out to him and he gasped.

“Elizabeth, this picture was taking the night of us on our date, why is it that your belly is huge?” He looked up at me and I knew exactly what he was talking about. The picture was not of just him and me, but it showed that my belly was huge and two sets of small hands could be seen through the shirt I was wearing.

“Do you think?” He asked getting excited.

“I have no idea, but we will soon find out.” I jumped in his arms and wrapped my legs around him. We danced around the yard laughing and my parents joined in. We could hear the sirens in the distance, but we didn’t stop!

In that moment I knew once more I had changed. I changed into a whole different person. My family was my life and
