Scarlett

S
carlett couldn’t explain
why her anger melted away the moment Kurt grabbed her hand. It just did. He seemed sincere when he said he was sorry, and if he were going to be an asshole and treat her like just a one-night stand then he wouldn’t have gone out of his way at the speed-dating event to talk with her.

“Thanks for getting me out of there,” Scarlett said. “I had no desire to sit through all of that.”

Kurt let out a loud laugh. “I was going to get out of there whether you were coming with me or not. You coming with me was an added bonus.”

Scarlett smiled. They walked up to the path near the ocean and Scarlett leaned down to take off her heels so she could walk in the sand. Kurt stood behind her and watched her bend over.

“Way to just stand there and check out my ass,” Scarlett laughed.

“I can’t help it, it’s a nice view.”

Scarlett stood up and playfully hit Kurt’s shoulder. She grabbed his hand and dragged him closer to the ocean. “So, what’s your story?” Scarlett asked. “Why did you get dragged here with your clan?”

“That is a long rabbit hole I don’t really feel like going down,” Kurt said.

Scarlett’s face fell.
Great, so he is one of those guys that hates opening up
, Scarlett thought. Scarlett turned her head to the ocean to hide her disappointment. She should have known that he wasn’t going to be different than the rest of them. The sun had started to lower itself into the horizon. The night sky began to cast out from the sinking sun with hints of oranges and yellows. Scarlett let out a long sigh.

Kurt walked up behind her and reached his hand to her chin, pulling her face back towards his. She looked deeply into Kurt’s brown eyes.

“It’s just that I don’t want to burden you with a sad story,” Kurt said. Scarlett looked deeper into his eyes. She could see the sadness that he was trying to hide. Scarlett wanted to be the one to help him, to take away his sadness. Kurt pressed a hesitant kiss on Scarlett’s lips. Her body instantly melted into his, and she felt her heart reach out to him.

Kurt broke their kiss and took Scarlett’s hands in his, and they started to walk down the beach again.
Maybe if I open up to him, he will eventually do so with me.

“Well, I can tell you why I’m here,” Scarlett said. Kurt looked over at her and smiled.

“I had been dating this guy Adam for a little while and he never really treated me right.” Scarlett felt the muscles in Kurt’s hand tense. “No, no, it was nothing like that. I was just not his top priority. He blew me off for a lot of things, and I feel like he probably cheated on me a few times.

“He would always call me late, and several times there were muffled sounds of music and people around him, and my trust in him disappeared. The week before we came here, he blew me off again. We had made dinner plans and he just never showed. Finally when I called him he answered, and it sounded like he was in the middle of a dance party. So I ended it. The next day I was telling my friends about it and they brought me here, thinking it would make me feel better, getting back into the dating scene. But I think it just made me feel worse.”

They walked up to a private cabana and sat down on the fluffy, round lounge chair. Kurt had been silent while she explained why she was here, and now he was staring at her. Scarlett leaned back and sighed. She hoped she hadn’t shared too much with him too quickly.

“I don’t understand how a guy could ever not make you his top priority,” Kurt said honestly. “If you were mine, I would make sure you knew that every day.”

Scarlett felt butterflies dance in her stomach. Under Kurt’s tough exterior there was a sweet guy. Scarlett pushed her body up on the pillows and gently kissed Kurt. They leaned back and Scarlett nuzzled into Kurt’s large chest. She was comforted by his strong heartbeat. Kurt wrapped his arms around her tighter and held her close. They laid their in comfortable silence for several moments.

“My ex-girlfriend, Callie, was killed by a drunk driver,” Kurt said. Scarlett slightly inhaled and looked up towards his face. “Since her death, I have not been the same man that I was. I blamed myself for it and I let the rage and anger consume me. This all happened when I was still human.”

“I’m so sorry, Kurt,” Scarlett said honestly. Scarlett couldn’t imagine losing someone she loved like that. That explained why Kurt’s tough exterior when it came to women and why he left her in the library. She wouldn’t really want to start up anything with anyone either if she were in his shoes, and since this whole resort’s focus is to hook everyone up, she couldn’t blame him for thinking that was her intention.

“You know,” Scarlett said. “The night in the library, I wasn’t expecting—”

Kurt cut her off with a kiss to her lips. “I know you weren’t,” Kurt said. “Which is why you are so different from every woman here.”

They lay together in the lounge chair, Scarlett wrapped in Kurt’s muscular, tanned arms. The sun finished setting, caressing the sky as it slowly dipped below the gentle curve of the ocean. Its light made its way from her gentle cheeks to her bosom, which undulated with each breath and ocean wave.

Lying on her side, Scarlett nuzzled deeper into Kurt’s chest and inhaled his addicting scent. It was musky, and it reminded her of being outdoors. She loved it. She slightly moved her left leg over his and he quickly grabbed it and pulled it up over his waist.

His fingers glided slowly up from her ankle to her kneecap and then up her thigh. When he reached the hemline of her dress he teased her by slowly moving his finger back and forth. Scarlett wanted nothing more than his hand to move farther up her leg. She lightly rolled her hips against him. His fingers slowly moved underneath her hemline of her green dress, diving into the depths of her inner thigh. Her smooth skin suddenly rippled with goosebumps. His fingers lightly grazed over her sex above her thong and she let out a slight moan.

“So, did you enjoy dinner?” he asked with his smirk as his fingers continued to explore her underneath her dress.

“It was good,” she replied as she turned to look into his eyes. “But I think I could go for another nibble or two.” Her lips pressed into his, smiling as their tongues danced together in the dull light of the tiki lamps near the cabana.

“Oh, I think I could bite me off more than just a nibble.”

Kurt’s hand rose from her supple depths, landing on her midriff and pushing Scarlett down into the lounge chair as he rolled over on top of her. He kissed her again, pulling her hips into his. She wrapped her hands around the back of his head, her fingers intertwined into the brown curls of his hair.

He playfully bit her lip, then moved on to her neck, the crest of her collarbone. He pushed her up on the cabana so that he had more room and moved down to kiss her legs. Scarlett leaned her head back in pleasure as he slowly kissed his way up to the hemline of her dress. He pushed up the fabric of the dress and trailed kisses up to the edge of her thong. He grabbed the elastic with his teeth and pushed it to the side, holding it in place with his right hand.

With his left he lightly trailed his fingers down her folds and slowly pushed inside. Scarlett felt her whole body contract as she let out a loud moan. Kurt pushed his fingers in and out and teased her clit with his tongue. His warm mouth on her was enough to almost push Scarlett over the edge, but she held on, letting the pressure build up inside her.

“Oh God,” Scarlett moaned.

Kurt started to flick his tongue faster as he moved his finger inside her. He slipped them both out and put two of them back in, which caused Scarlett’s legs to tighten around Kurt’s head. She tangled her left hand in his hair and held on with the right to a pillow just above her head.

“Kurt,” Scarlett moaned. “I need you inside of me.”

While keeping his fingers inside of her, Kurt sat up and started to unbuckle his belt. He took his thumb, pressed it on her clit and slowly rubbed her as he unzipped his pants and slid them partly down his legs. Scarlett was still in her dress and Kurt was still in his dress shirt, but Scarlett didn’t care. She needed him.

“How much do you want me, Scarlett?” Kurt asked

“Oh God, so fucking badly.”

Scarlett sat up and pulled down his boxer briefs. She grabbed hold of his full length and pushed him inside her. She arched her back up as he entered her and let out a loud moan. Kurt pushed up her dress around her waist and Scarlett heard the rip of her thong, but all she could think about was how Kurt filled her completely.

Kurt started to pump his hips and Scarlett held on to his broad shoulders. Kurt was about to push her over the edge and all she could do was hang on and let him take her.

“Oh God, Kurt, don’t stop,” Scarlett moaned.

Kurt grabbed her hips and guided her harder down on him. He moved his hands underneath Scarlett’s ass and lifted her hips on the lounge chair. Kurt leaned his torso up so he was on his knees while Scarlett remained on her back, her hips in the air. His movements became faster as Scarlett’s moans got louder.

“Oh! Yes!” Scarlett moaned. The pressure inside her exploded, and she felt warm heat radiate throughout her body. Scarlett tightened herself around Kurt and he let out a low growl as he released inside of her.

Scarlett’s body fell back onto the cabana in ecstasy. She had never believed sex could be that good. Kurt pulled back up his boxer briefs and pants and crashed beside her. He pulled her body next to him and wrapped his arms around her. The rhythmic sound of the waves crashing on the shore gently lulled Scarlett to sleep.

T
he sun shone
brightly behind Scarlett’s eyelids. Scarlett stretched her body out and smiled to herself when she felt Kurt’s hard chest behind her back. She rolled over to face him.

“Morning, beautiful,” Kurt said.

Scarlett smiled. “Morning.”

Kurt reached his arm around her and pulled her closer to him. “I like waking up next to you,” he said.

Scarlett’s heart skipped a beat. She liked waking up next to him, too. She lightly kissed his lips.

“As nice as this is,” Kurt said, “we should probably get back to our rooms before someone finds us out here.” Scarlett smiled and nodded.

Kurt walked her back to her bungalow, holding her hand. A comfortable silence fell between them, and Scarlett smiled to herself. This was the first time she was actually comfortable being silent around someone. With Adam she always felt she needed to fill in the gaps with conversation, but with Kurt she could happily walk in silence, holding his strong hand.

In the short amount of time she had known Kurt, she was starting to fall for him. She was nervous about falling too quickly, but there was something about Kurt that made everything feel right. She felt a powerful force between them that she couldn’t fully explain, but she loved how it felt.

They reached her door and Scarlett slowly turned to face Kurt. He reached up and lightly brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. Scarlett bit her lip and smiled. Kurt leaned in and gently kissed her lips.

“I would like to see you later,” Kurt said. “If you are interested.”

“I’d love to,” Scarlett said honestly.

Kurt smiled. “I will come by this afternoon, and we can skip the rest of the mandatory activities together.”

Scarlett smiled and nodded. She turned to her door and inserted the key. She gave Kurt a slight wave and walked inside.

Once the door closed behind her, she leaned against it and let out a long sigh.

“Well, I see you have been having some fun,” Blair said. Scarlett jumped at her voice.

“Blair? What are you doing here?” Scarlett asked.

Blair walked out of Scarlett’s bedroom. “I was worried about you,” she said. “You know me, always the protective one.” Scarlett walked up to Blair and gave her a hug.

“Thanks for being protective, B.”

Blair moved over to the couch and sat down. “So, tell me about him.” A huge smile spread across Scarlett’s face. She sat down on the couch next to Blair and told her about the night at the library and her night on the beach.

Blair let out a laugh. “And you were so upset when you first got here. See, a fling like this is going to be great for you.”

Scarlett smiled. Meeting Kurt had made this vacation worth it. Scarlett knew she was already in trouble, though, because she was falling and falling fast for the sexy clan leader.
This can’t be just a fling
, Scarlett thought.

Kurt

K
urt lounged
on the private dock of his bungalow and closed his eyes. Flashes of Scarlett’s body underneath his went through his mind. He loved the way her breath caught when he had pushed himself inside of her. She had this sweet, innocent exterior, but once he got his hands on her, her wild side rushed to the surface and Kurt couldn’t get enough of it.

That night in the library was only supposed to be a one-time thing. He had been drinking heavily and that morning he regretted what he had done. Yes, he had loved her touch, but he didn’t think it was real. It was just the booze that was making him feel the way that he did.

When he saw her that next day at the beach something changed inside of him. A force deep inside him called out to her and made him want to claim her as his own. He had to talk to her again to see what it all meant.

After last night, Kurt knew that he was hooked. He had not felt this way about a woman since Callie, and that both surprised and terrified him.
Callie would be happy for me
, he thought. Maybe Scarlett was the start of an overdue healing process.

Kurt looked down at his watch. He was supposed to meet Scarlett in half an hour. He pushed his large frame off the lounge chair and walked into the large bathroom and jumped in the shower. Water cascaded down his chest as his body melted under the heat of the shower. Kurt let the water rush down him and he imagined that with it went the pain and anger that he had been harboring for years. Scarlett would bring him back to life.

K
urt gently knocked
on Scarlett’s door. His bear bristled inside of him in anticipation of seeing her again.

Scarlett opened the door and walked out in a long, flowing beach dress. It was a green color which looking amazing with her hair and her eyes.

“You look beautiful,” Kurt said as he leaned in to kiss her. Sparks flew between them, and it took everything Kurt had not to pick her up, wrap her legs around his waist and take her right on the porch of her bungalow. Kurt broke their kiss and grabbed her hand.

Scarlett looked up at him. “So what is the plan for today?”

Kurt smiled down at her. “It’s a surprise.”

Scarlett let out a light sigh. “For future reference, I kinda hate surprises,” she teased.

Kurt chuckled. “This surprise is worth it.”

Kurt walked Scarlett up the path from the bungalows towards the water. They passed by several of his clan members chatting up various girls, and they all turned to stare at them. Kurt gripped Scarlett’s hand a little tighter.

“Why are they all staring?” Scarlett asked.

“Let’s just say it’s been a long time since any of my clan has seen me take an interest in someone.”

Kurt led Scarlett away from all the onlookers down a path that led them to a secluded area on the beach. Palm trees covered the area from the sun, and in the middle was a large blanket with a picnic basket.

“Oh, this is amazing!” Scarlett said.

Kurt smiled happily as they lay down on the blanket. Scarlett immediately dove into the basket, which made Kurt let out a light laugh.

“What is so funny?” Scarlett asked as she playfully put her hands on her hips.

“Nothing is funny,” Kurt said. “I just love that you aren’t afraid to eat.”

Scarlett let out a laugh. “That is one thing you will never have to worry about with me. I will always eat.”

Scarlett turned her attention back to the basket and pulled out the items. There were sandwiches, a large salad, fruit, cheese, and champagne.

“How did you manage to do all of this?” Scarlett asked.

Kurt chuckled lightly. “I may have had some connections.”

“You spoke to Blair, didn’t you?” Scarlett asked.

“I have no idea who Blair is,” Kurt said as he tried to hide the smile on his face

Scarlett lightly hit him on the shoulder. “You are such a liar.”

“Maybe,” Kurt said. “But I will only lie when it comes to surprising you in some way.”

Scarlett leaned towards Kurt and pulled his face towards hers. Their lips crashed together. Kurt loved how Scarlett took full control of what she wanted. She was not a sit-there-and-wait type of girl. If she wanted to kiss him, she did, and he couldn’t get enough of it. Kurt wrapped his arms around her curves and pulled her closer to him. Kurt let Scarlett’s sweet scent consume his senses. Nothing else mattered except her.

The wind shifted and blew towards them. With it came a scent that had Kurt’s bear immediately go on high alert. His whole body went rigid, and Scarlett broke their kiss in confusion.

“Is something wrong?”

Kurt lifted his head and smelled the air around him. Something was not right, and his bear would not settle down. A loud
snap
came from behind them, and Kurt pulled Scarlett behind him and let out a low growl.

“Dude,” Frank said. “It’s just me.”

Anger coursed off Kurt’s body. “What do you want, Frank?”

“We need to have a clan meeting,” Frank said. “The other clan of bears just arrived on the island.”
