Dean fell in love all over again dazzled by Matthew’s smile and

his easy acceptance. He blushed and nodded.

“I don’t think that just because we’re shifters that we have the

right to ride rough shod over anyone else – human or

paranormal.”

“That is why I love you,” Matthew said. “You care about

everyone, regardless of who they are or what species they are.

Your Omega powers wouldn’t work on all paranormals if you

were only meant to save shifters. So we are doing the right

thing in going. Although I do have a few concerns…” he broke

off and Dean looked at him trying to work out what his mate

was trying to say.

“What?” he finally said when it didn’t look like Matthew was

going to say anything.

“Well, you do know that all vampires are really, really good

looking. They are beautiful creatures, just like the Fae. You

might think that a cool vamp is more your style once you meet

them, and want to discard this scruffy bundle of shifter.”

Dean knew by Matthew’s grin that his mate was teasing him,

but he decided to take his mate’s words seriously. Sitting up

and straddling Matthew’s lap, he loped his arms around

Matthew’s neck, looking into the dark eyes he loved so much.

“I love you,” he said firmly. “I am claimed by you, can only get

hard for you and don’t even look at other men. I never have.

How do I know you’re not going to be swept off by some tall

hunk of vampire, leaving me in the dust? After all, I’m just a

skinny Omega.”

“A beautiful, talented, strong Omega,” Matthew corrected him.

“One, I have gladly given my heart too. Now shut up and kiss

me, and let me show you just how much I love everything

about you.”

And while Dean had a horrible feeling that their trip to Atlanta

was going to be one huge clusterfuck, he leaned over and did

as Matthew asked. Life was short, no matter what species you

were, and as far as Dean was concerned he had nowhere near

made up for his six sex-free years. Although over the long

night that followed, Matthew certainly helped him get closer to

his goal.
