Don’t be discouraged, don’t be drawn in. Take note of comments like these, then let go and move on. In order for you to access your own harmony, you must stand your ground. Be who you really are. It’s your journey.

The third element is simple, but incredibly effective when it comes to making a real connection to the food you eat and your health. Once you “get” the concept, it’ll be so obvious—you’ll wonder why you haven’t always thought this way. I want you always to think of food as energy, which can be positive or negative. Just think of the vibrant energy you can taste as you bite into a ripe yellow peach in the summer, or when you pick and eat blackberries in the autumn. Pure, positive energy. But, on the negative side, think about how your body reacts to a fast-food burger and french fries, or a bottle of bright blue soda, full of sweeteners, colorings, and chemicals. You feel drained and lethargic once the stimulant wears off, and will be more prone to illness.
Once you master the art of seeing food as energy, then you’ll begin to really care about what you’re eating, to want to enjoy foods in their natural, pure state rather than altered and packed full of additives. I want you to see healthy foods as delicious, high vibrational energy bytes. Raw foods contain food enzymes—an amazing source of positive food energy. Just think about the color of vegetables when they are still crunchy and full of flavor, versus the rather unpleasant smell and sad, lifeless look of overcooked cabbage. Simply adding more raw foods to your diet, or lightly steaming your vegetables so they maintain their vibrancy and goodness, will show in how you feel, think, and look—I guarantee it!

OK, I appreciate that it’s not always so easy in the hustle and bustle of today’s world to eat perfectly well. We have so many choices but too little time to make the most of those choices. Food has gradually dropped down our list of priorities—we’ll grab a sandwich at our desks for lunch, pop an overprocessed meal in the microwave, or speed eat in front of the TV. Too many people are addicted to sugar, caffeine, alcohol, and artificial flavorings. How ironic that healthy food, in its natural state, should seem so very inconvenient.

I am here to change all that. In this book, you will discover the convenience factor of healthy food, the tastiness and of course the healthfulness of healing foods. I hope this book will inspire as well as inform. It is in four easy-to-navigate sections: The Key Health Factors, The Foundations of a Healthy Diet, Food and the Stages of Life, and the A to Z of Conditions. If there’s anything you ever need to know about food and health, it’s now at your fingertips. Use it every day for you and your loved ones to be the best you can be. You now have the power to be healthy, vibrant, and in charge of your own life.

Wishing you love and light
