EXTRA TIPS

Dry skin brush daily to get the lymphatic and circulatory systems moving. Follow this with a hot then cold shower to further improve circulation. Switch from hot to cold twice to three times for even greater effects.

Avoid getting cold. Wrap up warmly, wear gloves and warm socks if the weather is cold.

Massage the arms, legs, hands, and feet with a few drops of rosemary oil in a tablespoon of olive oil. Rosemary is warming, and massaging can improve circulation.

RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, inflammatory condition and what is called an autoimmune disease, where the body is actually attacking its own tissues and cells.

Symptoms include swelling and joint pain, which seems to start gradually in the small joints of the hands, wrists, feet, elbows, hips, knees, or shoulders. One or more of these areas may disfigure and end up deformed. The skin turns ruddy and purple in color over the swollen areas, too. Most sufferers also complain of general malaise, fever, tiredness, and lack of appetite.

CAUSES

Hereditary predisposition.
