Veggie juices and broths, which are safe bets. Cabbage juice is a well-known remedy for ulcers.

Chicken, fish, and turkey, which seem to be fine with this condition.

Fresh figs (every other day). If you can’t find fresh figs, then get dried ones and soak them in water overnight.

AVOID

Dairy, yeast, and wheat, which have been shown to cause varying levels of inflammation in the bowel. So avoid cheese, milk, and even yogurt for now.

Junk food, fast food such as hamburgers, greasy chips, deep-fried fish, or kebabs.

Raw food; that means food that is not cooked. It will irritate the already inflamed colon.

White flour, white pasta, and sugar.

Caffeine, as that can be a trigger. The same goes for colas, fizzy drinks, and alcohol.

HERBS AND SUPPLEMENTS

With supplements that I recommend, you can open up capsules and mix them into juice or a smoothie. I do not expect you to take them all at once.

Take a powdered probiotic to help to keep levels of good bacterias high.

Take slippery elm powder or tea.

Drink flax-seed tea. Place 1 tablespoon of flax seeds in a large mug of hot water. Leave to cool overnight. Strain and drink the broth in the morning.

Silica gel will also help to reduce inflammation in the gut.

The herb boswellia has been reported to help with ulcerative colitis.
