Why it’s advisable to give you a ‘waiver’ about the fact that eating well is good for you is frankly, beyond me. However, due to the way the world is these days, here it is:
This book is written with high intentions to share information about how to fit more raw fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds and especially leafy green vegetables into your life. Who knows what kind of magic will happen in your life as a result of adapting your eating habits?
What you eat is up to you. You have to be careful to eat a full complement of nutritional foods to satisfy your nutritional needs. You probably won’t get that out of one green smoothie. It comes from an approach that you take for your own good health.
This book makes no warranties, guarantees or promises to heal any illness nor does it promise that it will keep you young, make you look better, feel better, cure diseases, prevent diseases or stop the symptoms or signs of conditions or illnesses.
If you have questions about your own state of health it is always a good idea to consult people whom you trust, medicos and other health professionals. Perhaps you need to be reminded to ‘consult your physician’.
This book is not a source of medical information and this book is not designed to render you any medical service. No book can be a substitute for your actions for direct, personal and or professional medical diagnosis and care. Understanding where you are at medically or nutritionally at this present moment is a great place to start, then make up your mind where you take it. It’s up to you but you’re not on your own.
There! It’s done.
If you’ve ever wondered how to get a child to ‘eat their greens’, or scratched your head at how you could possibly eat enough ‘raw food’ to benefit from this health-boosting diet revolution ...
... then learning to make delicious, healthy ‘green’ smoothies is a must.
I believe the theory is creatively brilliant – it’s such a quick and easy way to benefit from the amazing nutritional punch packed into nature’s green leafy vegetables.
Just blend them together and there you have an instantly healthy drink!
But beware. Not all green smoothie recipes are created equal – some require difficult to find ingredients while others depend on expensive ‘superfoods’. Some combinations are simply horrible! (Believe me I know this from experience – I did the research!)
So while the idea is fantastic in theory, in practice you have to be careful that you end up with a palatable drink – preferably something yummy and delicious.
For example, some of the best raw greens are very strong in taste, so unless you want to feel as if you are drinking grass-clippings every day, then you’ll want to know how to balance them in your recipes.
I recommend you start out with solid foundational recipes, using nature’s easy-to-find and ‘nutritionally dense’ ingredients that you can obtain from your local markets or store.
Then, once you have a repertoire of successful recipes based on ingredients you’ll ALWAYS have on hand, you’ll be happy to adapt and experiment. If you want to add any of the more popular superfoods, (such as chia seeds or acai berries or spirulina for example) I’ll show you how, though in this book, I’ve made sure you don’t
need
them.
If you are brand new to green smoothies you’ll probably want to develop your taste for them first as some combinations are definitely ‘stronger tasting’ than others. In this book you’ll learn to make scrummy-yummy family-friendly smoothies that makes the start of the journey much easier.
EVERY recipe is tested – and contains substitutable ingredients.
I show you how to go about substituting and adapting ingredients ... and even rescuing ‘disasters’.
This drinkable ‘raw-food-revolution’ doesn’t have to be the playground of the fringe-dweller. Green smoothies are well-within every person’s taste, budget and lifestyle.
They ARE the ideal complete and ‘fast’ superfood!
Packed with practical information on how to make delicious green smoothies using easy-to-find ingredients, my hope with this book is you will soon have you wowing your family and friends with your extensive and delicious repertoire!
In it you will discover:
* Yes, extensively tested on myself, my husband, daughter, family, friends and lots of my yoga students around the world!
Let’s get started ...
