"What?" I replied, not turning and looking at her, keeping my voice as monotone as possible. The other girls at the table craned their necks forward. They were champing at the bit for a fight. They'd been my faithful companions throughout all this, even going so far as to excise Maddie from the group for my benefit. I felt kind of disappointed that I wouldn't be able to give them the fight they wanted, but I had to move forward with this plan.
"We need to talk." Maddie nervously glanced at the other girls. "In private," she added.
I didn't speak for a long time, and didn't even look at her. She began to shift uncomfortably, and that's when I decided. I stood up. "Fine. Let's talk." I started to walk away from the table, and Jess, Ash, and Sophie moved to stand and walk with us. "No," I said, motioning for them to sit back down. "This is between Maddie and me."
"Fine," Jess huffed, but the three remained seated. "If you need help though, just call us."
I smiled at that. I was glad to still have some faithful friends at this school. Unlike the cheating bitch who was now walking directly behind me. When we made it to a more secluded hall, she burst into tears, her mouth opening like a floodgate, babble spewing forth, her brown curled hair falling in tangled locks about her face as she frantically spoke.
"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I had no idea what happened, what came over me, I swear I didn't mean for it to happen, Joey just came up to me and started doing crap to me and I couldn't tell him no, I just couldn't, I didn't know what to do, I didn't feel like I could say anything to so I didn't, I-"
I held up a palm, silently urging quiet from Maddie as well. I stared at her, noticing the crocodile tears welling in her green eyes. This would be hard. I wanted to do nothing more than to punch her in the face right now. But I knew I would need to pull all my skills together for the acting job of a lifetime.
"How could you do this to me?" I said lowly, my breath coming out in a hiss.
"It was an accident!" she said, her eyes pleading at me to believe her. I didn't.
"So, you're saying Joey accidentally had sex with you? That doesn't happen." I shook my head in disbelief. I was now honestly curious as to what had happened.
Maddie shrugged nervously. "He was scared about prom night, and he knew I had... experience. He asked me for advice and it went a little too far, I guess."
"You guess? You
guess
?" I raised my voice now, not having to feign anger. I knew Joey was just a stupid boy. Guys like him were a dime a dozen. But Maddie, Maddie was my
best friend.
She should have known better than that.
"I know, I'm sorry! I'm a horrible person. I understand if you never want to talk to me again." Maddie dropped her gaze, unable to face my steely glare.
"Of course I want to keep talking to you," I lied. "I wouldn't just throw away so many years of friendship."
You already did that for us
, I silently added.
"Oh Krys," Maddie lifted her face now, her eyes shining at me. I forced a smile, and she seemed to accept it as genuine. "You're not mad at me?"
I snorted. I couldn't help it. "Of course I'm mad at you. But I want to try to fix this."
"Please, just give me one more chance. I won't let you down. Just tell me what to do."
I had thought about this already. I knew Maddie would be skeptical if I just let her back into the fold without any demands, and I knew what I was going to say already. "Okay," I paused, pretending to think. "Firstly, Joey no longer exists. You can't talk to him, anymore. At all."
Maddie nodded eagerly. "That's easy, I'm not talking to him anyways."
Yeah right
, my inner monologue said. Out loud, I continued, "and when I get a new boyfriend, you aren't allowed to hang out with him at all. Ever. Period."
"Okay. That seems fair."
"And you can't lie to me ever again, or gossip about me. You can't talk to anyone else about what you did."
Maddie's eyes grew wide, and she merely nodded. My ego grew at her silent compliance. I was in a position of power. Feeling confident, I added one last requirement. "And you owe me. Big time. I'm going to ask a favor of you, or I may take something from you someday, and you can't do or say anything about it."
Maddie gulped now, but she only nodded at my last outrageous demand.
I grinned wide, and my grin had nothing to do with this fake make-up. "Friends?"
Maddie grinned back. "Friends." She went in for a hug, and I had no choice but to return it, though her touch repulsed me. I didn't even want to be within a hundred feet of her, and here I was, hugging her. I deserved an Oscar for this.
Maddie followed me back to the table like an eager little puppy dog, and hastily took her designated seat beside me, before any of the other girls could say anything. Ash raised an eyebrow at that immediately.
“You made up?” Sophie looked at me incredulously.
I nodded. “I’m still mad at her, and Maddie now has some rules she needs to follow, but yeah. She’d good. For now.”
“Wow, you’re more mature than me,” Ash commented, glaring openly at Maddie, who was shrinking backwards. “I’d just deck her and call it a day.”
I squared my shoulders, a little haughtily. “I’m 18 now. I need to act like an adult if I’m going to be one.”
That seemed to shut the other girls up, and they moved on to more mundane topics. I noticed everyone was careful to avoid coming even close to what had happened between Maddie and Joey, and I was glad of it. I didn’t want to think about it. And having this traitor, sitting right next to me, sent my blood boiling. I would have to carry through with this plan soon. I knew I couldn’t keep up this charade for long, though.
Just then, the lunch bell rang. Everyone stood up, gathering their trash and belongings.
“So,” I said, turning to Maddie. “Want to hang out after school?”
“Sure!” Maddie looked elated. I knew she wasn’t expecting this to be so easy. “When should I come over?”
“I’ll come over to your house. I’ll be there at
4:30
. There are some things my parents want me to do, first.”
Maddie nodded eagerly at that. I knew she wasn’t suspecting a thing. Her father came home from work about
5:30
, I was pretty sure, so I knew I would see him. My plan was set in action, for better or for worse. I was going to do this.
At
4:30
on the dot, I pulled my car into Maddie’s driveway. Her dad was rich, or at least exhumed an air of wealth. He lived in a posh neighborhood in our city, and his house loomed large over me now, as I sauntered down the walk towards the front door. The red brick face seemed more menacing to me now than it had in the past. I was nervous.
I’d started out confidently enough. After school let out, I raced home, and began preparing myself. I took a long bath, removing every inch of hair from my body as I shaved, the razor slipping over the smooth surface of my skin. Sliding my fingers between my smooth pussy lips like that was a different experience, and more than a little arousing. But instead of having fun in the bath, I continued with my preparations. After I shaved myself hairless, I did my makeup and hair, and slid on my slutty-but-hopefully-not-too-slutty outfit. The shorts really were rather short, and the top, though it was just a casual t-shirt top, had a big rip right in the middle of the collar so it would expose just the right amount of flesh underneath. I was also wearing a push-up bra underneath, giving my small breasts the biggest boost I could afford.
I thought I looked good.
But now, in front of her house, shivering in the slight chill of the early spring air, I wasn’t so sure. What if he just laughed at my advances? Was this really going to work? I hauled my schoolbag further up my shoulder. I had to take a chance, if I wanted my vengeance.
I knocked on the door, and Maddie immediately answered it. “Krys!” she cried, throwing her arms around me in a hug. Biting back disgust, I returned it grudgingly. She pulled back, and stared at my outfit. “You going somewhere later?”
Damn, I was too slutty. “I have a date later,” I improvised quickly.
“Wow, already?” Maddie said thoughtfully. “With who?”
“None of your business,” I said shortly, and brushed past her as I entered the house. It was just as opulent inside as it was out. There was even a chandelier in the foyer. It was way fancier than my house, that was for sure.
Maddie led me to her room, and we awkwardly did our homework for about 30 minutes. I knew Maddie could sense the tension in the air – she’d have to be a dummy to not have realized something was up. But I didn’t care. I was in.
“You want to get a snack?” I asked her a little after 5. “I’m a little hungry.” I decided to throw a smile in there for good measure.
“Sure!” Maddie said brightly, immediately jumping to her feet. I inwardly smirked. She was so desperate to please me, it was kind of funny. “What do you want? I’ll go get it.”
“No, I’ll come too. I’m a little tired of sitting, anyways.” We both trundled down the stairs. I stopped by a hallway mirror to check my hair and makeup, both of which still looked good.
“I’m sure whoever’s meeting you will love how you look,” Maddie said when she noticed me stop.
I smiled devilishly. “I’m sure too.”
We made our way to the kitchen, and Maddie set about making a plate of celery with peanut butter and raisins. She knew it was my favorite. I quirked another little half-smile at her groveling servitude. I could get used to having my very own slave. I read one of the books I’d brought downstairs while she worked, pointedly ignoring her. After she finished her preparations, she set the plate in front of me, smiling pathetically. I smiled back. I could definitely get used to this.
We were still in the kitchen when I heard her dad’s Porsche pull up the driveway. My heart suddenly leaped into my throat, and I could feel a cold sweat on my palms. This was it. No turning back now.
“Hey
Madison
!” he called as he entered the house, keys jangling in his hand. “Oh, you have a guest. Hi Krystal.” He smiled at me, and I sat in frozen shock.
Now that I had my sights on him in a more amorous nature, I realized how attractive he was. His steel gray hair was cropped close to his head, and his dark brown eyes were currently crinkled with smile lines as he grinned at me. He had a strong jaw too, and wide powerful looking shoulders, even under that suit. I felt girlish and small, and more than a bit weak at the knees.
“Hi Mr. Hendricks,” I replied, completely unsure of myself now.
“How was school?” he asked, oblivious to my jitteriness.
“Oh, it was fine,” Maddie replied. “Just the usual.”
“Ah, well, I’ll leave you girls to it. Dinner at 7? Are you staying for dinner, Krys?” He turned his gaze to me again, and I coyly shrank back.
“I’m not sure yet.”
“Well, let me know.” He smiled and winked at me, and my heart did a back flip.
“Okay,” I said quietly. As Mr. Hendricks left the room, Maddie stared at me.
“What’s up with you?” she asked, suspicious.
“Nothing,” I said, reverting to my old, short self. She couldn’t see through to my plan, not now. I had to stop reacting to her father like this. But it was like some switch had been flipped in me. Now that I wanted to have sex with him, I felt like my every move counted. I couldn’t afford to make a mistake.
After we finished eating, we headed back upstairs. Maddie’s dad was nowhere to be seen. How was I going to flirt with him, if he wasn’t even around? I silently cursed. Maddie shut the door behind us when we made it back to her room, and I sat back down on the floor.
“Okay, what was that all about?” Maddie asked. She no longer seemed so groveling and pathetic all of a sudden.
“What was what about?” I said defensively.
“You were acting really weird around my dad.” Maddie’s eyes widened. “You don’t think I told him, do you?”
“What?” I realized she was talking about Joey. “No! I mean, maybe.” That was a good cover for my strange behavior, actually.
“Jesus Krys, of course I didn’t! Even if I wanted to, I remember my promise.” She nodded firmly, and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. I knew her promises meant nothing.
“Okay,” I said, and then looked around on the floor for my schoolbook. “Shoot, I left my book downstairs. I’ll be right back.”
“I’ll go with you!”
“No, that’s okay. I’ll be just a minute.” I zipped out of her room, and hurtled my body down the stairs, with only my book on my mind. Maddie’s dad took me by complete surprise, when I rounded a corner and nearly ran into him.
“Oh!” I said, caught completely off-guard.
“Oh?” he replied, looking down at me. He was a good head taller than me, and seemed very imposing, all of a sudden. “Need some help?”
“No, I just forgot my book…” I trailed off, realizing that this was my chance. I tried one of those flirting techniques I’d seen. I put one of my hands on my hips, and gave him what I hoped was a seductive smile. “Have you been working out?” I asked. “You look good.”
