Trent looked into her eyes. “How'd you know I'd be here?”

Callie laughed. “Kent told me where you were meeting her.”

  “That's my dude,” Trent said nodding his head.

  “He thought she was might try to make you snap and catch a case or try to say that you'd done something to her against her will, and you have too much at stake here,” Callie explained. “Chicks like that will ruin a black man's future and not bat an eye. We've seen it before…too many times.”

  “We weren't going to let her jeopardize what you've worked so hard for,” she finished.

Trent shook his head. “I can't believe you're here...” he said in disbelief.

  “You want Elle to be here?” she asked raising a brow.

  “Nah, I don't want anybody but you Callie.” He smiled at her.

  She smiled back. “I'm sorry for tripping about Elle. I just know that I love you so much and I don't want to lose you, because my heart would be broken forever.”

  Trent took her hand. “I love you so much Callie Jones, and I will always be the
Guardian
of your heart.”
