“More already went before him. We had to spend much of our
hinjenjo
to hide this from your people
.
Our population has dwindled for many, many seasons. Those who remain need all the strength they can get to survive.”

“But why? Why do you stay if you know you will die here?”

“Who shall trade with the other colonies? Who will supervise the deliveries for our home? We cannot allow the transports to stop.”

Kianto almost laughed, but the misery in her words stopped it in his throat.

“If you just fear for more food, why don’t you teach the Rahenians how to use the machines? Why don’t you tell them of your problems? We may be a dumb people compared to you, but we can learn.”

The assistant and two guards appeared at the doorframe while Won Ta Ki pondered over his words. She waved them off.

“Thank you,” Kianto said, honestly relieved.

She looked at him curiously.

“You don’t have to thank me.”

“I do. You kept them from binding me to that machine once again.”

“I will still gain your semen. We have two elders who need it today.”

“But you will make it more pleasantly than they did.”

“Yes.” She ordered him to lie down and fastened his wrists and ankles. It was easy, since he had to walk in shackles all of the time. Donego even took care that Kianto was bound both hand and feet for the night in such a fashion that he could not get up.

“If you want to make me feel good, get Sariti. You can still collect my semen before it is spilled on the floor.”

“It was never spilled on the floor. And no,” she went on impassibly, “there will be no human female in my chamber.”

“Then at least don’t use the
muri
.”

“Your feelings are less important than gaining what we need.” She produced the
muri
out of a small pocket and let them wander up his private parts. Kianto grimaced at the contact. “If you shed your human way of thinking you would enjoy them much more.”

“Sorry to say that I would enjoy a touch and kisses much more than animals forcing an arousal.”

Won Ta Ki barred her teeth.

“Kissing is an act of subduing a lower female. I will not suffer to see that.”

“Oh, that is news to me. Like many pieces of information you feed me. If you and yours had played more openly in the beginning, all of this would not have happened.”

Won Ta Ki purred, but it was not laughter out of being merry.

“If we had shared our wisdom with your rural peasants, they would have used it against us. They would have sucked up every drop of information to run home and discuss it and come up with more ideas how to push us back to space without even a morsel of food.” She watched him shudder with the
muri
going about their work. “All of your glorious companions found their reassurance in fighting us.”

“You are an invasive people, Won. This is our planet, not yours.”

“But long ago, your people had nothing. Only due to a meteor crash did you prosper. Be grateful for it and share. Don’t try to keep every bite for yourself.”

Kianto squirmed with discomfort as the worms intensified their work on him.

“Why do you use them?” he squeezed between clenched teeth.

“They are clean. They don’t harm you. And they deliver what we need without claiming a part for themselves.”

“And why Sariti? And the other women? Why did you let me do them? My semen was lost in them.”

“Yes. However, that was only a test.”

Kianto blew out air. All of his beliefs shattered on the harsh Mawany reality.

“How old are you?”

She did not answer and though her features had little means of expressing her feelings, he knew she had not much time left.

Sariti’s hot mouth covered his cock, sucking on the soft skin, poking here and there without breaking it. Her tongue wound around his glans, catapulting his arousal up and through the ceiling of emotion. He stretched, but could not touch her. Some weights kept him down, but it did not matter as long as her tongue and lips remained at the right spot. Her long hair rested on his inner thighs and tickled his balls. He was shaven so smooth he felt every touch twice as strong and he enjoyed it in a way he had never felt before. He did not want this to end. He moaned and begged without words for her to go on. Higher he climbed, longing for the moment of release and yet hoping the building tension would last for another hour. He gasped with the intensity of contact. Sariti’s mouth worked with love and experience, giving and giving. He balled his fists and contracted the muscles in his legs until the climax was reached.

His body bent high against something much harder than Sariti’s body. It was stiff like wood and the warm mouth was suddenly gone. No loving words followed. Instead he heard a male voice through the pulsing blood. Kianto’s emotional high dropped in a second.

He opened his eyes, panting, to see Donego stand beside his head.

“Well, it gets easier by doing, right? Though I prefer a more personal contact.” He frowned. “I think, I will ask Won Ta Ki to take you to my chamber.”

Kianto made clear with an angry glare that he would rather hit and rip him apart instead of making love, but Donego laughed.

“Yes, I understand. You are still angry with me because I took you away from your Mawany princess. But you have to understand that she has more important things to take care of than having you in her bed.” He patted the machine that had collected Kianto’s semen. “You help prolong the life of the Mawanies around. That is a good, a very noble task.” He turned to a Mawany guard. “Yes?”

“Release him and send him to Won Ta Ki,” the guard grumbled deep in his throat.

Both Donego and Kianto needed a moment to get the meaning.

Donego frowned.

“You want me to release him? But he’s not done yet! He’s to be here until the light fades.”

“Now.” The guard pressed a button and the machine lifted. Then he opened the shackles and took away the muzzle. “Get up.”

Kianto hurried to leave the wooden table before the guard pulled him.

“Just show the way,” he said and left a fuming Donego behind.

The guard did not speak another word. Obviously, he had not been taught much or did not like to talk at all. Kianto’s questions were left unanswered. However, when he entered Won Ta Ki’s private chamber, he understood.

She lay on the red, slightly moving floor and looked at him, teeth bared. A friend sat beside her, knees drawn up.

“I thought you would not come,” Won Ta Ki said when he sat down on the other side.

“The guard just freed me.”

“Good.” She closed her eyes for a moment. “I ordered Hanjek and his men to be sent home. If they want to go elsewhere…” She lifted her hand and let it drop again. “We stayed too long. Our time is over.”

“Trade is still possible,” Kianto replied and took her hand in his. He had never before held her and felt bold but also content. She did not pull her hand away so he gently massaged her fingers until they became warm. “You could send some of your people here and the farmers will deliver grain. Maybe other things you need.” Once the words were out, he could not believe he had said them.

“The peasants don’t need anything else but food and huts. You said so. And you were right.” She looked at him and through her fingers he felt love and admiration. No words were necessary. “Our people have searched for planets to sustain us without bringing harm to the people already living there. Maybe they will find a way.”

“You could still find a way here.” He stroked her hand and bent to kiss her cheek. It was cool and dry under his lips. Again, his feelings for her astonished him. “If you tell the Rahenians what you need, we will help. We have enough grain and fruits. If you don’t take it by force and explain your situation, the elders will understand and cooperate.”

“Do you believe that, Kianto? Don’t you think your people will dance the victory’s dance once we are dead?”

Kianto would have loved to tell her she was wrong, but he knew better. The farmers wanted to regain their fields and live without strangers controlling them. He held her hand and stroked her arm, insecure what to do or say. Her skin grew warmer and soft under his touch.

“I hope your people will find peace.”

Won Ta Ki took a deep breath.

“I will leave in a short while. The place will be emptied within a day. Go home, Kianto, take your coin.” And when he smiled, she added, “Yes, you don’t need the coin anymore, but take it as a gift, then. Return to your life as a farmer or herder. Start a family. I’m sure you will find a good wife.” She pressed his hand. “Help me to my ship, Kianto.”

The other woman made a sound of protest, but Won Ta Ki stuck to her decision. They helped her stand and guided her down the long corridor to the main exit of the palace. A small space ship hovered over the roof and landed nearby.

Along the ramp and into the ship Mawany guards looked surprised to see a Rahenian accompany a high ranking member of the leading family, but they did not comment. Kianto took in all there was to see. His mind ran amok with the overflow of alien technology within his reach. None of the instruments looked like any tool he had ever used. He felt small and stupid to gawk and still could not stop.

“You were a great help for us,” Won Ta Ki said when they reached a place for her to sit. The chair enclosed her like a blanket. “I will cherish the memory of having known you, Kianto.”

“Be assured we won’t forget you, too.”

He held her hands, unwilling to go and not knowing why. His heart and mind were in turmoil. Won Ta Ki’s friend tweeted urgently, but Won Ta Ki only purred, leaving Kianto in between without knowing what went on.

“She says, I shall have to let you go.”

“But I don’t want to go,” Kianto blurted out in spite of his attitude. He felt as if he was looking at his body from above, wondering what was happening to him. He was convinced that staying with Won Ta Ki was his destiny, and that both would be doomed if he left. The feeling got stronger every second. “Let me stay, I beg you.”

“You have to go. I’m sorry, Kianto, it is the contact with me. Once you hold my hand or embrace me, your human emotions are overruled and bind you to me.”

“What’s so bad about that?”

The other Mawany tweeted and finally turned to yell an order that sounded harsh in Kianto’s ears.

“It is not meant to be. I can control what I let you feel, but if you start the contact, you are doomed. But we will help you.”

“Help? I don’t need help. Just let me go with you. Your love is all I need.”

She put her hand over his.

“Believe me, Kianto, all the love of both worlds cannot give you what you seek in life.”

“But I—”

“No more, Kianto. You are such a good man. I will see you in good hands, better than mine.”

He followed her gaze. Sariti was led into the ship, frightened and miserable.

“Kianto? Please, help me! They just took me here! I don’t want to be here! Please, let me go back!”

“Sariti?” He turned to Won Ta Ki. “Why did you bring her here?”

She reached out for the young woman’s hand. She took it frightened like a child, still begging to be released.

“To help you find the one who will be your wife.” Won Ta Ki placed Sariti’s hand and Kianto’s hand on each other, enveloped by Won Ta Ki’s long fingers. The gesture was very intimate and Sariti fell silent, looking solemnly into Kianto’s eyes.

“I have to leave,” Won Ta Ki said quietly, “but I wish you both to stay together to start a family and live a happy and long life with many little ones around for the story to tell.”

“I will be a good wife,” Sariti said. “I will live with you and give birth to your children and they will be as strong as you.”

Kianto frowned and looked into Won Ta Ki’s big eyes.

“Is that what you want?” She nodded. “Sariti, I will cherish you for my life to live and stay with you as long as the harvest goddess grants us to live.”

Won Ta Ki took her hands away and clapped them. The other Mawanies joined in while outside more and more ships arrived.

Hanjek and the Ferocious Five
destroyed the
hinjenjo
production before they left the palace. They shunned the nearest village and turned north. If the rumors are true, they found homes and wives far away without anyone knowing their true origins. Instead, they brought Mawany technology to life that the owners forgot to carry away. They became rich in the Rahenian meaning and started families with many and more children.

Donego used his last supply of the drink to relieve all peasants close by of the memory of Mawany occupation and became famous for his long stories about strangers from space and how they had tried to win over brave Rahenians. Naturally, the stories always ended with the failure of the intruders.

Rahenia remains a peaceful planet, rainy and prosperous. And the only brawls are about women, wine and who has the biggest cabbage and other important things.
