Scooter made his way over to Red’s writing room while she was in the shower. “Time to check up on you, little girl,” he mumbled to himself as he booted up her computer. The fact that she was an aspiring author worked out quite well for him and meshed with his untrusting nature. He knew authors always put a piece of themselves in what they wrote. As far as he was concerned, any writer who said they didn’t was a fucking liar.

Red wasn’t aware of the fact that he read her stories. She wrote some twisted shit and it turned him on. Where in the hell did she come up with this shit?

“First thing we’re doing, little girl, is checking your history.” He talked to himself when he worked sometimes. It was a habit he hadn’t been able to break.

“What the fuck?! What are you looking for, girl?”

He eyed the website he had only heard about that had a serial killer’s blog. Was she here doing research, or what?

“This is some twisted shit.”

He grabbed his cell phone and dialed a number. The man named Miller, on the other end, picked up on the second ring.

“Yeah, what’s up Scoot?”

“I’m not quite sure. My old lady has been writing a crime novel and I just found some website she’s been visiting.”

“What is it?”

“Some dude named
Black Rose
.”

“Oh boy, she’s doing some heavy duty research, isn’t she?”

“You know this guy?”

“Hell yeah, I know him. He’s part of the
Bound by Blood Brotherhood.

“That’s the group of guys you served with over in Afghanistan, right?”

“Yep, and as much as I love ya, bro, there isn’t a whole lot more I can tell you. I can tell you this, though. Either your woman is doing research for the book she’s writing, or… she has a stalker.”

“Would this guy stalk her?”

“Nope, he’s got some chick he rescued from a serial killer so it wouldn’t be him but there are plenty of crazies out there who worship him. Like I said, she could just be doing research but if she is being stalked, we’re dealing with a copycat…

Chapter Thirty Seven

Tiny leaned into the SUV window and eyed Preacher who was seated in the backseat with Daisy. “You got that Glock, bro?”

“You know I do.”

He stroked Raven’s arm but never took his eyes off of Preacher. “You have my heart in your hands. Don’t let anything happen to her.”

“You know me better than that, Prez.”

Tiny patted the SUV after he kissed Raven goodbye. It was true; Preacher held Tiny’s heart in the palm of his hand by being responsible for Raven. They both knew any of the brothers would kill anyone who tried to harm the President’s old lady. They had decided it would be smarter to leave Tiny guarding the compound and send Preacher to watch over the club and Daisy. All of the brothers were on high alert and only time would tell how all of this would play out.

They made their way down the familiar River Road in silence. Red wanted to ask Raven if she had said anything about the black roses she had received but she knew not to in front of Preacher and Daisy.

An awkward silence filled the cage as they made their way to the club. Everyone was nervous about the rival MC and Daisy couldn’t help but feel like she was the cause of all the drama. All of the tension and feeling like the outsider was making her chest tighten up with anxiety.

She looked over in the backseat at the hard profile of the stranger who owned her. The streetlights travelled over his darkened features that seemed obscured not only due to the lack of lighting, but because of his tough outward demeanor. She knew instinctively that he had told her the truth when he said he was a hard man. Her fingers meekly made their way over towards his hand and he jerked around, looking at her with hard eyes. Though his expression didn’t change, he wrapped his fingers around her hand in a tight, possessive grip. It was enough for now. She would take whatever she could get from this stranger to whom she belonged. She found herself hoping he might someday care about her because she was more than a little intrigued by this enigma of a man.

His eyes stared at her, holding her in a cold, hard, relentless gaze. She squirmed in her seat as she remembered the dirty things he had made her do for him. A devious grin spread over his face as he leaned in to whisper in her ear, “It makes your pussy wet for me when you think about the nasty things I’m going to make you do for me. Just wait until I make you fuck yourself with a dildo when we get home.” He chuckled as she turned away to hide the bright crimson hue of embarrassment on her face. She squirmed again, trying to alleviate the discomfort from the wet spot between her thighs, but that just wasn’t going to happen with him sitting so close.

Raven quickly went through the process of putting on her make-up on and getting dressed. Her best customer was coming in tonight and she needed the money. He’d been known to give her as much as five thousand dollars in one night and she loved giving Tiny gifts. He told her all the time that he didn’t care about her money, or need it, but Raven was a biker chick at heart and everything she had, or did, was for her old man.

Men stared as she made her way through the crowded bar in a tight, leather miniskirt and a beaded, black, crop top that was triangular in shape and tied up in the back with leather lace. Businessmen, independent bikers who rode solo, suburban dads—they all stared. Raven was beautiful with her jet-black hair, feathered towards her face, and her mysterious, onyx eyes. She could have any man she wanted but her heart belonged to Tiny.

She eyed the trust fund baby who was sure he was in love with her even though she belonged to another. If Raven dancing in her clothes and sitting to talk with him was all he could get, well, then, that was enough for him.

“Hey Raven,” Rupert piped out.

Who the fuck would be so cruel as to name their kid Rupert?
she thought.

“Hi Rupert. I see you got me a magnum of champagne and red roses. You’re so sweet.” She bent down and kissed his cheek. “Did you send me black roses the other day?”

“Oh no! Even though I know they’re your favorite, I just couldn’t, not knowing that they mean… I couldn’t send you anything that signifies death and mourning.”

She patted his leg as he pushed his glasses up on his nose. She almost felt sorry for the poor guy; he was so dorky. The mystery of who sent the roses was pushed from her mind as she heard a disturbance up front.

She turned her attention back to the matter at hand—Rupert. The poor guy did deserve her undivided attention with all he did for her. Besides, Preacher would deal with whatever was going on anyway…

Daisy stood around the corner and watched Preacher as he dealt with Billy’s temper tantrum. Billy might be a danger to her, but he wasn’t a danger to another man, and judging by what she was witnessing right now, she wouldn’t have to worry about him anymore. Preacher was fucking crazy.

Preacher shoved the gun into Billy’s mouth and cocked his head sideways. “I will blow the back of your fucking head off, you little weasel.”

Billy pulled back enough to speak but his voice shook with fright. “I just came to talk to my old lady, man. I don’t want no trouble.”

“She ain’t your old lady no more. She’s mine now! As far as trouble, you got that when you walked into Dauntless territory with those raggedy ass colors you’re sportin’.”

“Man, you can have her, man. Just please don’t kill me.”

“You’re a pussy motherfucker, aren’t you? Say it… and save your life.”

“I’m a pussy motherfucker. I’m whatever the fuck you want me to be. Just let me go, man.”

“Run, motherfucker. I said run!” Preacher’s voice boomed and that’s exactly what Billy did. He ran for his life.
