Zane caught her in midmotion with a firm grip of his hands on her hips and held her suspended there with only the head of his cock penetrating her quaking pussy.

Danica narrowed her eyes at him and gritted her teeth. “I was just starting to have fun.”

“You will be again very soon, too, baby, just as soon as Lowell is inside you.”

A tsunami of anticipation drowned the trickle of fear that slid down her spine as Zane’s words sank in. She sensed more than saw Lowell settled behind her and knew the time had finally come for him to be inside her the way he wanted.

“Are you ready to feel my cock inside you, darlin’?” Lowell lubed her entrance as he spoke, probing with his fingers, teasing her even as he prepared her.

“Yes.” His prodding turned her answer into a moan, and when he pulled his fingers free, she nearly protested before she caught herself. If they had taught her anything at all tonight, it was patience. Only a few seconds more and she would have both of them, two thick, long cocks inside her aching body.

Lowell folded his body over hers, pushing her hair aside so he could brush his lips to the back of her shoulder. “I love you, Danica. I always have and I always will.”

Her gaze locked with Zane’s, Danica felt her eyes fill. Understanding and compassion swirled in the depths of Zane’s eyes as he stared back at her.

“I love you, too,” Zane whispered. “And I always will.”

Danica closed her eyes as a single tear escaped. By the Gods, she couldn’t handle this. Not now. Not when she knew in a few days, quite probably a few short hours, both of them would be gone from her life again.

She couldn’t say it in return to either of them. She couldn’t open her heart any more than she had already done tonight. She was already committing emotional suicide. How in the hell was she going to pick up the pieces again after this?

“Please,” she whispered, swallowing the lump in her throat and forcing back the tears. “Just make love to me now, please.”

Zane’s thumbs drew lazy circles on her hips while he continued to hold her still. “Relax on my cock, Dannie. Lowell will do the rest.”

Danica nodded and did as he told her, sucking in a sharp breath a half a heartbeat later when she felt the engorged head of Lowell’s cock pressing against her anus.

“Stay still for now, darlin’,” Lowell coached softly. “I’ll do everything. All you have to do is feel.”

Even with the blindfold no longer anywhere in sight, Danica felt as though it were over her eyes again as Lowell’s hands joined Zane’s on her hips and Lowell eased his cock into her anus a maddening inch at a time. All she could do
was
feel. The way they guided her so that her body would accept the intrusion of Lowell’s cock more easily. The way they took their time to make sure they were giving her pleasure despite the double-edged swords of pain that came along with having a cock the size of Lowell’s invade her ass. The double penetration put her on board a super-speeding flight to a world of ecstasy that blew all of her imaginings to smithereens.

“How are you handling this, Dannie?” Zane asked. “Do you need us to stop?”

“Gods, n—” Her eyes flew open, her gaze slamming into Zane’s. Surely she could say the word now, in this context, and he would take it as she meant it. Still, she didn’t want to take the chance. “It. Feels. So…” She gave up, each word becoming a sentence of its own that she couldn’t complete as they started moving at a snail-paced rhythm.

“Good?” Lowell supplied as he thrust his cock further inside her anus. Her body fell down onto Zane’s dick, pushing him further inside her pussy.

The sensation of having them both inside her, filling her the way they had done so many nights in her dreams, was simply too much. They controlled her, Lowell setting the pace with his thrusts into her ass, and Zane following with his pounding in her pussy.

A riot of splendid commotion reverberated through her system, rendering her senseless, breathless, and compelling her to explode. Her resistance dissolved even more when one of them, she couldn’t tell exactly who, somehow managed to find her clit with the pad of his thumb and began a pressured massage.

Dear Goddess of hormones, no way could she hold back now. “Lowell. Zane.” She screamed their names on ragged breaths. “I need to come. Please, can I come?”

“Yes.” Lowell growled the word, riding her ass as effectively as she rode Zane’s cock. “Damn, darlin’, you better before I come without you.”

Danica laughed, the sound morphing into a scream as she detonated. The orgasm tore through her, ripped out of her in a sanity-stealing rush that left her body convulsing, paralyzing every muscle until she couldn’t do anything more than collapse in their embraces.

As the darkness of exhaustion threatened to close around her, she heard Zane grunt his release almost at the same time she felt Lowell flood his ass with her seed. Spent, breathless, and out of her mind, she gave in to the fatigue and passed out between the men who had not only so exquisitely possessed her body, but had stolen her heart and soul.

The distant sound of Lowell’s southern drawl pulled Danica from sleep. She didn’t open her eyes, taking a minute to simply lie there, to think, and to feel. Lying flat on her back hurt, and she didn’t need to look to know she had never made it off the living room floor where she had fallen asleep, though she had been on top of Zane when she had drifted off. Thinking proved to hurt, too. She didn’t know what time it was. She only knew the night, the hours with Zane and Lowell that had swept her into a fantasy world, had ended. It was time to face reality, and only the Gods knew how that was going to turn out. She could already sense the impending emotional disaster, but the tender glide of the fingertip tracing the outline of one of her nipples felt fantastic.

She opened her eyes, blinked, and rolled her head to the side to find Zane lying next to her, his upper body propped on one elbow as he gazed down at her.

A wide smile lit his handsome face. “Good afternoon.”

Danica started to sit up, but thought better of it when she realized the movement might discourage his perusal of her breast. Fiery embers of desire sparked in her system, awakening hormones that should have been completely spent and dormant after last night.

She licked her dry lips and swallowed. “Is it afternoon already?”

“Pretty close. How do you feel?”

Danica stretched her arms over her head, pushed out with the heels of her feet, and felt every muscle in her body extend in a blissful sigh of relief. “Like I slept on a bed on concrete.” She angled her gaze to the floor and pursed her lips. “I supposed that’s only fitting since I did sleep on a bed on concrete. Mental note to self, have softer carpet installed on the living-room floor.”

Zane chuckled. “Actually, most of your body was on either me or Lowell the whole time.”

Danica slanted him a look. “Like that helped. I’ll have you know neither of you make a very soft pillow.” Both men were rock-solid, exquisitely packed muscles and firm planes.

“No, I guess not.” His fingers danced across her chest to her other nipple, leaving a trail of blazing heat in its wake. “I’m sorry. We should have taken you to the bed. All three of us sort of passed out after that last time.”

Danica smiled. “There’s nothing like a bout of good, hot sex to send the body in full shut-down mode.”

“You got that right.” Zane leaned down, brushed his lips over her nipple, then drew it between his teeth for a tender bite.

Danica’s eyes started to close as the pleasure snaked through her. Her back arched, lifting her breast to his mouth, seeking more.

“Christ, I can’t get enough of you.” He took as much of her breast in his mouth as he could get to fit, sucked, and circled the pebbled surface around her nipple with his tongue. The enjoyment lasted only a heartbeat before he eased back and looked at her again.

Danica met his gaze with a narrow-eyed stare. “Are you teasing me again already?”

He gave a half laugh. “No. I just needed a little sample. There won’t be any more teasing for a while. I promise.”

Something twisted in Danica’s belly. Disappointment? Sadness? Yeah, she was certain it was both of those and likely more.

“Where is Lowell?” She could hear him speaking in a hushed voice, but couldn’t quite determine what direction it was coming from. She couldn’t make out the words he was saying either, but his tone was just loud enough for her to pick up on the seriousness that put a firm edge to his voice.

Zane flicked a glance down the hallway. “He’s wandered to the back of the house. He’s on the phone.” He pushed a hard breath from his lungs. “Apparently things got pretty sticky in Miami last night. We have Diego Lorena in custody, as well as several of his top men, but it didn’t go down well. An agent was killed, another is in critical condition, and two more were treated for minor gunshot wounds.”

Danica studied him even as her heart started to break. She could see what he wasn’t telling her in the depths of his eyes. He was wishing he had been there, beating himself up for not being in the center of the action. Lowell was likely doing the same.

“You should have left as soon as you got Chelsea’s statement.” She pushed herself up, pulled her legs close to her chest, and wrapped her arms around her knees. “Both of you should have gone back so you could have been in on the takedown.”

Zane shook his head. “We wouldn’t have been called in to assist. There’s been a team of agents on Lorena for months. The only reason Lowell and I are in on this to start with is because of his association with this town and the fact that I’m his partner.”

Danica didn’t believe that, but she didn’t see the need to argue the point. “You’ll be leaving now though, right? That’s what this phone call he’s making is about?”

“We have to leave for a while, yeah.” Lowell walked into the room, stopped in front of her, and extended his hands.

Danica let her gaze climb his long, powerful legs. Her attention paused on his cock, still impossibly long and thick even in its softened state. She dragged her focus away, skimming it up his flat stomach, six-pack abs, hard pecs, and finally met his gaze. Her heart in her throat, she put her hands in his and let him pull her to her feet. She sensed more than saw Zane stand, too.

Lowell pulled her against the hard planes of his body, his strong arms encircling her waist. “We’ll be back.”

Danica tipped her head back so she could hold his gaze. Emotions danced in his eyes. Regret. Hope. Love. Sorrow. She saw it all and more, felt an echo of every bit of it in her soul, and knew what she had to do.

She pried herself from his embrace and stepped back, glancing behind her to be sure she didn’t end up in Zane’s arms. Zane hadn’t moved from the spot where he had been lying. He had only gotten to his feet and now stood barely an arm’s length from Lowell. Good. She could easily put distance between herself and both of them. She didn’t want either of them touching her when she said what she had to say.

“No, you won’t.” She didn’t allow any of the emotions she was feeling into her voice. She kept her tone level and absolute and hoped her expression was as blank as she attempted to make it.

Lowell stared at her unspeaking for several heartbeats. He didn’t need to say anything for her to know what he was thinking. It was all there in his expression. Confusion came first, followed by caution, and finally anger.

“If you think I’m walkin’ away again, darlin’, you better think again.”

Danica squared her shoulders and prepared herself to go head-to-head with him. “If you think you’re going to take over my life after one night of sex, no matter how great it was,
you
better think again.”

Dear Gods, the hurt in his eyes nearly shattered what remained intact of her heart. She knew what he had planned, and she couldn’t let him do it. He would give up everything for her. He had already tried it once, would have succeeded, too, if everything that had happened with her father hadn’t driven a wedge between them. All their lives he had dreamed of joining the FBI, but instead of following that dream when he had finished high school, he had stayed in Horn Hill because of her.

“Dannie—”

Zane took a step toward her, and she took a step back, cutting off whatever he had been about to say. “We called a truce last night. We eventually broke it, got some things out in the open. I told you I don’t blame you for anything anymore”—she shifted her attention to Zane—“and I told you I’m not angry for the way you deceived me. We enjoyed a night together. That night is over. All three of us have lives to live, and they don’t include one another.”

“The hell they don’t.” Lowell started to move toward her, the muscle ticking in his jaw so pronounced it was a wonder it didn’t pulse right through his flesh.

Danica backed away, instinctively knowing where the doorway to the hall was and making sure to move toward it so she didn’t back herself against a wall. “Don’t touch me, Lowell Tucker. You’re not going to pull your dominant shit on me this morning. It’s done. Accept it and move on.”

She didn’t expect him to listen, and when he froze, she got a mixed sense of relief and alarm.

“So, what was last night, Danica?” Lowell’s tone was so hard a jigsaw couldn’t have sliced through it. “Are you trying to tell me you used us? You wanted a couple of men to take control of that lovely body, give you the experiences you write about, and then let you get back to your regularly scheduled program? Was it research for you just like you claimed a meeting with The Service Club would be if you ever got to go?”
