Chapter 34

A GIFT OF WINGS

Luciferael spent the night with Lillith in Jarahmael's palace. Surrounded by Jarahmael's fourteen mirrors, he
enjoyed
Lillith all night. They had little rest and he decided to remain in the palace to spend the following day together.

Luciferael's comment that she was the First Born of Humans just as he was the First Born of the Beings of Light ran through her mind — the two of them had that very much in common. She knew that she loved Jarahmael, but he was gone. She did not want to be alone anymore, and here was Luciferael, a powerful creature, one who had told her he had conquered all the Heavens. And he wanted to be with her. He could keep her safe, and with him she could have anything she wanted.

There was something dangerous about Luciferael though, even though he had an immense level of love all around him. She could feel that love coming off his very being without him saying or doing anything. It reminded her of something. Searching her memory, she finally recalled where she had felt that level of love: in the presence of the Almighty Himself. But Luciferael also had this pocket of energy within him that was closed off, self-contained, focused solely on himself. She sensed that this side of him
was a seductive trap, he could attract someone in, and then turn on them,
and destroy
them without
the slightest compassion or remorse on Luciferael's part. Like Adam, he was concerned about his own pleasure and not hers. Not like Jarahmael, who was open and giving with his love towards her. But
that wave of sadness swept across her again:
Jarahmael is gone, she reminded herself. This Archangel is here, he is alive, and he is with me.

She could speak freely with Jarahmael, tell him about what she felt, what she had experienced, what she was thinking. With Luciferael it was nothing like that. He did not want to hear much about her. He wanted to talk about himself and his successes in his war and conquest of the Heavens.

“We have won the Heavens and tomorrow we will finish the conquest when we attack and take over the Earth,” he said to her, repositioning himself as he rolled over so he could see himself in the opposing mirror. He ran his fingers through his hair, getting all his golden locks back in place. “The loyal Angels will not last long under our attacks. We went right through their legions, forcing them out of the Heavens one right after the other. Now they are trapped on the Earth and they do not have the advantage of knowing their own territory there. It should not be a long set of battles before Beelzebael and my lieutenants have them all captive.”

He broke his gaze off himself in the mirror to look down into Lillith's eyes. Taking his hand, he brushed her hair off her forehead. “Then we will take care of the remaining Simians and Humans.”

She shuddered deep inside when he said those words. Was she one that was going to be destroyed?

After a moment Luciferael continued. “They are not as beautiful as you, Lillith. What should I do with them?” he asked her, stroking her forehead as one would stroke the hair of a pet. She sensed that he did not care what her answer would be, because he already had his mind set on destroying them. She needed to be cautious with her answer, as this creature might have the ability to destroy her as well.

“Whatever my
l
ord Luciferael wants to do with them is fine. I am not like them anyway. The Simians on the Earth were never of the same class as Adam and I, and now, even Adam and Eve are both mortal from what you have told me. I have nothing in common with them anymore,” she said, watching his eyes carefully, her voice tentative, making sure she was providing him with the answer he wanted.

“Good,” he answered. “I am going to destroy them all, actually. I had to destroy my creatures the dinosaurs to protect the Humans at the Almighty's orders. They needed too much attention, and they cannot travel or move like us, the Beings of Light!” He pulled Lillith closer with his one hand. “You don't look very happy here in Jarahmael's palace.”

“I am not, my
l
ord. I have been trapped up here for days and days with no way to get out. I am sure these palaces are wonderful for you Angels. But I miss the Garden of Eden, with the running streams, trees, plants and animals. I am a creature of the Earth and not of the Light.”

Luciferael looked into her eyes. And for a brief moment she felt that he genuinely cared about her, felt compassion for her.

Luciferael then continued, speaking softly. “I am in charge of the Heavens now. I can give you the entire Garden of Eden if you like, Lillith. Adam and Eve have been cast out. The Guardian Angels have the rest of the First Heaven for themselves and I am sure they have little interest in residing in the Garden of Eden, just as you have little desire to live in an Angel's palace.” He started to laugh, “Your idea of paradise and our idea of paradise are much different.”

He thought for a few moments more and then said to her, “Come to think of it, it’s a shame you don't have wings, Lillith. You could fly yourself back and forth if you like. I wonder if there is some way I can remedy that.”

“Could you give me wings?” she said, suddenly excited at the prospect that he may be able to turn her into an Angel, too.

“Perhaps,” he said while he was still thinking.

“I would do anything to have wings!” she said. She thought how wonderful it would be to be changed into an Angel, a Being of Light, to fly on her own, and to have the powers that the Angels had.

He thought back to the Words he used to alter details on the dinosaurs when he created them using spells from the Book of Creation. “Stand up! Let's try this. What was that spell again?
Muto Somes Habeo Pennae!”
As the words left his lips, Lillith began to grow wings. They grew proportionate to her smaller body size. Luciferael stood back and admired his handiwork.

Lillith moved closer to one of the mirrors and moved around so she could see her new wings from various angles.

Luciferael was delighted that he could make her body sprout wings. “You look even more beautiful!” he said to her.

As she walked around she said to Luciferael, “These wings are beautiful. But they have me off balance, I feel like I am going to fall.” Then she looked down. “My
l
ord, my feet!” she shrieked. “You have ruined them!”

Lillith's feet had changed into a bird's talons. The delight of new wings was eclipsed by the horror of losing her beautiful feet. “You have turned me into a bird!” she said angrily.

“Silence! You forget yourself! You are never to speak to me in that tone!” he bellowed. His presence overwhelmed her as his anger turned his body from a light golden hue to a deep shade of red.

She quickly bowed herself to the ground before him, frightened that he would destroy her on the spot.

“You wanted wings. I gave them to you. You need to know your place. I will work on changing your feet once I get back to the Throne Room and get the Book of Creation for the right spell.
Muto Somes Ut Aufero Pennae!”
Those words changed her back, causing her wings to grow back into her body and her talons to turn back into her feet. “Remember those phrases and you can change yourself, to have wings, or to remove them.”

Looking down and seeing her feet return, she was delighted.
None of this was permanent. I can change myself, what a great thing! And this Archangel taught me how to do that.
She looked up, her eyes apologizing to him, opening herself up to him once again
to reward him for this gift
and they entwined once more.

Chapter 35

WEAPONS ARRIVE

Faumiel was descending along with his band of loyal Cherubim with the weapons they had carried all the way from the Sixth Heaven, down to the pyramid halfway around the Earth at O
ccidentus
. He had hoped that Dubriel had succeeded in contacting Cerebriel, the head of the loyal Cherubim, to assist him ward off the attack from the larger group of pursuing rebel Cherubim led by Glabolas. But as far as Faumiel could see his plan had failed, and now they must do their best to fight off and eliminate as many of the rebel Angels before he and his band were captured or
destroyed
themselves. The desperately needed weapons would never get to the loyal Angels and help stave off Luciferael’s army in conquering the Heavens and the Earth.

Faumiel looked up and saw the pursuing rebel Angels dropping out of the skies, having finally overtaken his small group. Glabolas
had his sword drawn and was ready to attack Faumiel, causing Faumiel to draw his own as he prepared to defend himself and the weapons cache. It wasn't Glabolas that worried him, as he was sure he could take him. It was what to do about the rest of the rebel Cherubim as they greatly outnumbered Faumiel's loyals.

Outnumbered
at least five
to one, Faumiel’s Cherubim kept sinking backwards, trying to protect the sleds with weapons. Another group of rebel angels were positioning themselves to get beneath Faumiel’s group and then they would be totally surrounded.

Suddenly, a mass of various
loyal
Angels came streaming out from the pyramid below. A
rmed with the laser cutters used on the pyramid sites, bright flashes wounded or stunned many of Glabolas’s Cherubim, thwarting the attack.
Cerebriel himself took aim at Glabolas
and
wounded him and made him tumble earthward.
Another of Cerebriel's Cherubim took out the rebel leader Haagenti as he tried to rally his
rebel
Angels. With the two leaders incapacitated, the rebel Cherubim Angels were unable to continue fighting, the remainder of them surprised and in disarray. Within a few moments
the rebel
Cherubim found themselves surrounded and captured.

Faumiel was delighted. It was a good move, securing the weapons and making sure that none of the pursuers could go back to Luciferael and tell him where the weapons had been taken. With none of his Cherubim returning to him, Luciferael would not know where they had gone. Hopefully, the rebel Angels would not even realize that Glabolas
was in pursuit of any loyal Cherubim who were transporting weapons out of the Heavens. That would give the loyal Angels an element of surprise for once against the rebel Angels.

Cerebriel himself had led the attack to protect Faumiel and they greeted one another with large smiles, happy to see one another safe and sound.

“You are a welcome sight!” Faumiel said to Cerebriel.

“As are you! Not to mention the weapons you succeeded in bringing to us, Faumiel,” said Cerebriel. “It was a great idea sending Dubriel down to the pyramids so we would be warned and get into position here. We have been trying to fight without any Heavenly weapons, and have been losing one Heaven after another,” Cerebriel said to Faumiel.

“I did not expect to see you here ahead of me,” said Faumiel as he thought about it. “I anticipated that you would come up from behind and attack them that way.”

“That is the beauty of the pyramid system,” said Cerebriel as he pointed to the pyramid below them. “The portals allow us to move much faster than simple flight. Now we can start making preparations to fight back! But rest first, you have had a long and dangerous journey getting those weapons down here to us.”

Faumiel's Cherubim concealed the four sleds that carried the weapons from the Sixth Heaven in trenches around the O
ccidental p
yramid that they covered over with palm tree fronds and undergrowth. They took the captives
and wounded
of the rebel Cherubim and confined them deep within the pyramid.
Cerebriel then
placed armed loyal Cherubim as guards to keep them from causing anymore havoc.

Cerebriel and Faumiel went through the new weapons stores. Although they had brought a large cache of weapons, it was still not enough to arm all of the Angels who were now stranded on the Earth. Cerebriel decided that it would be best to arm the Archangels and Cherubim first with the actual weapons, and disperse
the remainder to as many Angels of the lower Orders as they could
. They also made sure that construction tools were
spread among the
Dominions and Principalities
who
were more familiar with using those tools, so the transition
for use as weapons
would not be difficult
for them
.

Cerebriel and a number of his fellow Cherubim helped move the weapons to the other Angels in the pyramids around the world. They knew that it was only a matter of time before Luciferael and his armies would come out of the Heavens to finish the conquests of the Earth. They wanted to be prepared for the next set of attacks when
and wherever
that happened.

It took all night and the next day to move the weapons, as they could only move so many at a time through the portals from one pyramid to another. They then had to distribute them among the Cherubim and make sure that the other Orders of Angels who were given weapons knew how to use them. The pyramids became the focal points and shelters for the loyal Angels who were no longer able to return to the Heavens after Luciferael's conquest. Cerebriel was taking advantage of these encampments by making them training centers, and assigned groups of his Cherubim as trainers for the other Orders of Angels. By using the pyramids
for travel
, all movements were concealed from observation by Luciferael’s scouts in the skies. They could easily move weapons and loyal Angels from pyramid to pyramid, which allowed them to build a
nd train a
loyal army without Luciferael's knowledge.
