Yuri didn't know
how to react. As far as kissing went, it was extremely chaste and tame. But it
was still a kiss from a dragon, unexpected and quick and almost intoxicating.
Her heart hammered so hard against her ribs that it ached.
"I am sure we
will see each other soon,"
Kaimana
muttered with
another soft smile. Then she was gone into the crowd of humans.
Yuri stared after
her, trying to get her tired mind to start working again.
Piccolo's laugh
finally pulled her back to the present. She glared at him. "Shut up."
He just smirked in
response. "Some vacation, huh?"
Yuri sighed as she
stood and smoothed her mini skirt. "Yeah, you could say that. Now, if it's
all the same to you, I'm going to get back to it. No more phone calls this
time."
Piccolo spread his hands wide, an
innocent expression on his face. "I was only trying to keep you
safe."
"Yeah, I
know. But I've got the rest of the week off, and I'm going to actually take
it." She poked a finger in his direction. "So buzz off."
Without waiting
for his reaction, she turned on her heel and slipped through the crowd to the
front door, more determined than ever to actually give herself the break she
deserved.
