My slow and gentle was also beginning to fall to the
wayside, because the connection we seemed to have for each other seemed to have
a will of its own. I’d never lost myself in a kiss before, but I was quickly
losing my control with this one.

I could feel the same thing happening in Maya. Her
breathing got heavier, her mouth opened further, and both her hands came up to
grip my biceps like she was having a hard time staying on her feet.

The feel of her hands on me pushed me to grasp her
face, angling her head so I could deepen the already intense kiss. The desire
to consume her was overwhelming and I sucked and pulled at her lips, leaning in
to press my body against hers, arching my hips to relieve some of the pressure
building in my cock.

She suddenly broke the kiss by turning her head to the
side, gasping my name. “Landon, stop.”

Our chest heaved against each other and I could feel
the sharp points of her nipples poking into my chest. I wanted so badly to
capture her lips once more and resume the most amazingly, hottest kiss of my fucking
life, but I know now was not the time or place.

I pushed myself off her. “Sorry, Maya. I didn’t mean to
take it that far.” Her skin was flushed, and I could feel the heat of our
combined ardor steaming between us.

She swallowed visibly. “It’s okay. I got a little
carried away as well.”

I grinned through my discomfort. “Like you said last
night; this is going to be harder than I thought.”

She exhaled and pushed me away with a wary smile.
“Yeah, I’m going to have to be on my toes around you.”

I gave her a solemn look. “Maya, you tell me no and
I’ll stop.”

Her smile softened. “I know you will, Landon. I’m not
afraid of that. I’m afraid my willpower is just very weak where you’re
concerned.”

I couldn’t help my smug grin at her confession.

She rolled her eyes. “That’s probably the last thing
your ego needed to hear. I’ve got to go in or I’m going to be late.” Giving me
another push she moved past me.

I called after her. “Hey, it’s only fair you give me an
ego boost after criticizing my forehead.”

She threw me a grin over her shoulder. “Did I forget to
tell you that your ears are off center as well?”

I laughed and warmth expanded in my chest at her
comeback. Damn, she made me feel… what was the fucking word...buoyant? Yeah, buoyant.
I hadn’t felt this way in…forever.

“A few of the guys mentioned going to the beach next
weekend. I was wondering if you would want to go, if you think you could get
the weekend off from work?”

Maya and I had been seeing each other almost every day
for two weeks, and it amazed me that each day I grew more fascinated with her
instead of less. I haven’t been able to get my lips or hands below her neck, and
while I wanted, ached for more, I was surprisingly fine with it. I wasn’t
accustomed to waiting for what I wanted, and I wanted her in my bed in a bad
way, but that wasn’t what was keeping my interest.

Everything about her attracted me; her beauty, her
intelligence, her humor, her sweetness, and her body.

What did surprise me was that I’d been to a few parties
during the times that Maya worked at night and hadn’t taken advantage of the
offers thrown my way. I had never gone this long without sex, and let me tell
you, I was primed, but none of those women interested me. Sure, my cock could
have done its business because it was aching in a bad way for something to
stick itself into, but these days I seemed to be more discriminating.

The guys had noticed I wasn’t taking up any of the
offers and had given me a hard time about it, but I just ignored them. A few
had asked if it was because I was getting it from Maya, but I didn’t confirm or
deny it, I just said we were hanging out. Then I’d gotten more flack at their
surprise for sticking it to one girl.

Todd, I think, was the only one that caught the
rephrasing of my words, but he’d only grinned and remained silent.

Maya looked up from the blue golf ball she was
attempting to putt in the hole…
and let me tell you I didn’t miss the irony
in that
. It was Monday night, her date night, and she’d decided on
putt-putt golf. The last time I’d been putt-putt golfing had to have been in my
pre-teens. However, this establishment also offered extreme go-carts and I was
looking forward to that.

Maya and I constantly argued over who was paying for
what, and while I let her spend some of her money I wasn’t going to allow her
to spend too much…her money was more valued than mine since she had to actually
work for it.

“Two days at the beach?” She asked with a frown.

     “Yeah.”

She looked down and tapped her ball, putting it in the
hole; she then looked aback up at me with a troubled expression on her face.
“I’m sure I could get someone to cover for me, but I don’t know what I would
tell my mom.”

I frowned. “She wouldn’t want you going away for two
days to the beach with friends?”

Bending down she grabbed her ball and walked toward me.
“Well, I’ve only gone away for the day before, not overnight, and I wouldn’t be
going with friends. I’d be going with you, and you’re kind of more than a
friend. And I don’t know how I feel about going away with a bunch of guys.” A
peculiar expression crossed her face as she phrased me as ‘more than a friend’.

     “What was that look for?”

“What look?” She avoided my gaze as we moved on to the
next hole.

“You got this really weird look on your face when you
called me ‘more than a friend’.”

She shrugged. “I just wasn’t sure what to label you
there for a second; friend, male-friend, dingle-dork…” She grinned at me and
then bent to set her ball down on the fake green. “Boyfriend.”

Her last categorization had my gut clenching in
foreboding. Was she asking me if we were boyfriend and girlfriend? I wasn’t all
that into labels and defining our relationship kind of freaked me out, so I
skirted around it.

“In regards to the friends, I would hope my friends
could become your friends, but since they’re not yet how about inviting some of
your friends. There would also be more than guys there. Girls always end up at
these things too. And since the beach house we’re staying in is huge there’s
enough room for fifty people, although, not everyone would get a bed if that
many stayed there.”

I didn’t miss the slight disappointed expression that
crossed Maya’s face at my ignorance on what to call myself, and while it caused
a different kind of clenching in my stomach, I just couldn’t go there…yet.

Another peculiar look crossed her face. Turning away
she lined up her putter hitting her ball. She didn’t hit it as well as the
other times. “Girls just end up at these parties of yours, without you asking
them?” She asked, moving out of the way so I could hit my ball.

That’s what the look had been for. “I never ask any of them
to come, but the other guys invite some.” I supplied, setting down my ball and
hitting it, and for the first time I did better than her.

We went through the rest of the hole silently and I
wondered what she was thinking about, because I could tell she was mulling over
something.

At the next hole as I lined up my shot she broke the
silence. “Landon, can I ask you something?”

I halted my shot and glanced toward her hearing the
anxiousness in her tone.  “Yes, of course, anything.” My words shocked me
because it left me open to a multitude of questions I probably didn’t want to
answer, but I’d said them without thinking wanting to reassure her. When had it
become my first concern to reassure her?

She walked toward her ball. “Am I the only girl you’re…
seeing
?”

The way she expressed ‘seeing’ told me that wasn’t the
actual literal word she was looking for. I grinned. “No, Maya, I see girls all
the time.” Her head swiveled around and the hurt expression on her face wiped
the grin off mine. I’d only been trying to tease her but she didn’t seem to be
catching on to that, so I hastily clarified. “I see maybe ten girls right now
on the putting course.” Her eyes narrowed. “But if you are trying to ask me if
I’m fucking other girl’s, than no, I’m not.”

Her mouth pinched, and leaning over she wacked her ball
too hard causing it to bounce over onto another green.

“Whoa there girl, save that swing for a real golf
course.” I continued to rib her but her upset expression caused me feelings of
confliction. I might not want to label our relationship, but I didn’t like seeing
that hurt look on her face either.

She stomped away to go after her ball, muttering loudly
over her shoulder. “You need a swear jar, because you have the worst potty
mouth I’ve ever come across.”

My unrest cleared with hers. “How much we talking about
depositing?” I called after her.

She retrieved her ball, apologizing to the people in
front of us whose game she’d interrupted. It was a couple in their late
twenties and the guy gave Maya a smile that pissed off both me and the woman
with him. Maya tripped back toward me and I saw him checking out her ass which
had the woman smacking his shoulder in anger. He missed my death glare because
her cuff had the desire effect of redirecting his gaze.

“I don’t think a quarter would work for you, being who
you are.” She raised her brows theatrically at me clueless to what just
happened behind her. “I’m not even sure ten dollars would make a difference,
but if I had to watch you put anything more than ten dollars in I would
probably freak out. These last three weeks I’ve been able block out how rich
you are because we’ve been doing some pretty average things, although the party
was a bit over the top, but away from your house and friends, it just Maya and
Landon.” She pointed her finger at each of us.

Her description of our relationship, and of how she
tried to disregard my wealth, affected me significantly. I was forever being
chased because of who I was and it was infuriating. But could I really believe
that Maya saw me for me, and not the bank balance that everyone else saw?

I know I wanted to believe her.

“Does my language really offend you?” I asked the only
thing I could because my thoughts were all over the place.

She shrugged and repositioned her ball. “Sometimes it
shocks me. I’m not used to so many swear words flying around. My other friends
swear, just not like you.” She grinned. “But I do notice that you watch your
mouth when there are other people around, especially kids. That’s all I care
about.” Swinging her golf club, Maya yelled, “Mulligan!”

“Hey! You didn’t say we were allowed those.” I
complained with a laugh.

Lifting the club to her shoulder she sauntered after
her ball. “You didn’t ask, and the way you play you’d be calling them
constantly.” She retorted.

“Cheater, cheater, dirty sock eater.” I countered.

Maya choked on a laugh. “Euw. But hey, now you know.
But you only get two a game, not that it will make that much of a difference
for your score.”

“First my looks, now my game, you are really trying to
make sure I don’t get to full of myself. You know that ear comment had me
scrutinizing my reflection every time I passed a mirror”

“How is that any different from before?” She grinned playfully.

“Smartass.” I mumbled, setting down my ball.

“Thank you, thank you very much.” She said imitating
Elvis.

We finished up the last hole quickly and handed in our
clubs, and then I bought tickets for the extreme go-carting. Maya huffed that
she was supposed to pay for that, but I huffed back, ‘
oh well’
.

“You never answered my question about the beach.” I
reminded her.

Her brows pinched in thought. “I can bring two
friends?”

     “Yes.”

“I’m going to have to find someone to switch with, and
talk to mama and Gabby, but if I can get it all worked out, then yes, I would
love to go.” She gave me a shy smile.

“Cool,” I said as casually as I could, while my heart
and dick thumped with glee. “I’m looking forward to meeting your friends, so I
hope she can make it.”

That was only partially true. While I wouldn’t mind
meeting friends of Maya’s, sharing her for the weekend was actually dissatisfying.

The next week had Maya pulling some double shifts so
she could get the weekend off. Because of that I only got to see her Wednesday
and Friday during the day. If I had known it was going to effect her schedule
this much I might have not had her do it, because losing all that time with her
didn’t seem worth it. I stopped in on her doubles to see her, grabbing
something to eat, but it wasn’t enough. I could only hope that the weekend
would make up for it.

Maya had told her mother that she was going with Gabby
and some other friends, and that her and Gabby would be splitting a room. Maya
said it hadn’t been a lie because she most likely would be sharing a room with Gabby.

I was eager to change her mind about that.

“So how long have you and Gabby been friends?”

It was a little after nine in the morning on Saturday
and Maya was sitting in the passenger seat of my Mustang in black shorts and a
black tank top that outlined her pert breasts perfectly. I’d had to do some
adjusting as I’d watched her walk across the parking lot.
