And to all of the readers
who sent emails asking for this next installment. Although it’s not
in the Men of Three X series, it’s Julio’s story. This story picks
up from the third book in the series,
Where there’s Smoke
. Julio leaves
the construction company after handing over the criminal Geary, to
Smoke, Red and Ross, who tried to destroy the company.

You may remember Tex
from
Run to You
,
Brenda’s ex-boyfriend. Anyway, Julio and Tex are heading south to
handle a job that will change their lives. It’s not what he wanted,
but it turned out to be what he needed.

Thanks for your all of your support and I
hope you come to love Julio and Pam as much as I have.

Loving a Bad Boy

Julio Cardenas didn’t want to be a member of
the Cartel; he’d rather make wood cabinets or work construction.
But through a series of events he was next in line for the head
position. Pam Burrows loved caring for the sick and as a hospice
care nurse she made sure her patients last days were comfortable
and dignified. It never occurred to her that she had been denied
her most important patient.

On the best days, you’d never put these two
together. They had contradicting points of view on life. One
believed in saving life at all costs, the other – not so much. One
valued honesty; the other believed truth should be couched in
shades of gray. One believes in love, the other refuses to think
long term. Nevertheless, they become the breath the other needs to
survive, proving once again, everyone needs love. Even Bad
Boys.

Julio looked down and spit on the man who’d
kidnapped and tried to destroy his best friend, Smoke.

Geary or Top as he was known in prison sat
naked on the concrete floor, both hands tied in front of his waist,
with a blackened eye and swollen jaw snarling like a dog.

Looking at his watch, Julio wondered how
much longer before Smoke and his partners would arrived at the
warehouse to pick up their prize. He turned and surveyed all the
stolen building materials, as well as merchandise ordered for jobs
that would never be completed. Geary’s accomplices had stolen the
name of Smoke’s construction company and run it in the ground by
doing shoddy work, taking deposits for jobs and never completing
them. If Geary had continued, there’d be nothing left of Three X
construction. Even now, Red, Ross and Smoke were in courts all over
Michigan, trying to restore their name from this legal nightmare.
With the help of someone working inside the construction company
this asshole had almost pulled it off. But Geary had gotten cocky
and tried to kill Smoke. That’s where he made his biggest
mistake.

Powerless in his fury over his best friend’s
kidnapping brought home just how vulnerable he and his friends
were. Although they were all angry over Smoke’s disappearance, he
was the only one in a position to solve the problem to a satisfying
conclusion. It didn’t take him long to make up his mind to call his
godfather, Francisco Molleri, the current leader of the South
American Cartel.

Within hours of Smoke’s kidnapping,
Francisco had found the men who’d taken his friend. By the time he
reached the hotel, Smoke had disappeared. Boiling anger, so
intense, the bitter taste had choked him when the trail grew cold.
He’d set a course to discover and eliminate everyone who
participated in the scheme, which brought him back to the asshole
at his feet.
