We stared at one another, our faces only inches apart as we came together. He gave, I took, and then we were done. It was five a.m. and the sun was preparing to make its heated debut.

Chapter 4

At six that evening I was astounded to find myself standing in the midst of Reigning Towers Hotel in the heart of the Sin City. My mind could barely fathom how Asanti had damn near yanked me out of bed that morning after we were well satiated, dressed himself, wrapped my coat around me again, strapped on my heels, and swiftly droved us to the airport. I was once more in a public place with this man and under the coat I was stark naked.

Again
!

The flight seemed to be a blur except for when we snuck into the bathroom and mated like wild rabbits, quickly becoming very well satisfied members of the mile high club. It was only during that sexcapade that time seemed to stand still, but before I knew what was happening, things sped up again and I was in Las Vegas. Walking through the doors of a very swanky hotel room on the arm of a man that I had only known for a little less than thirty six hours. I had officially lost my mind.

And I’ll be damned if it didn’t feel good!

One of the first things Asanti did after we settled into our room was order dinner. I was famished after a day packed with unexpected events and no food. When the attendant showed up at the door with the meal, I actually wanted to bite through the silver serving trays to get at whatever smelled so good under those expensive domes.

In the dining room of our hotel suite where the food had been set up at the table, Asanti waited for me. As I neared him, he removed my coat from me and I was clad in only my heels. He eyed me hard then told me to have a seat before sitting down and devouring his meal.

“What’s it like being a journalist?” He asked me that when he was finally done.

I wasn’t expecting that question, but I gave him the best answer that I could. “It’s very rewarding.”

“How so?” He asked me, quizzically.

“Well,” I began after getting a sample of the most succulent steak in the world, “I go from city to city and sometimes country to country to get the best story. The traveling aspect of it is unsurpassed.”

“Who do you write for?” He asked me between bites.

“I’m freelance. I write for whoever demands me at the moment, but I do have a main base in my home town.”

“Are you in
high
demand?”

“I wouldn’t say high demand, but I am good at what I do. I’ve won my fair share of awards.”

“Congratulations,” he offered. “How long have you been writing?”

“Professionally, for a living, or period?”

“Period.”

“Since I could hold a pencil. I think the written word is one of the most beautiful things in the world and I do it as much and as often as possible.”

“Sounds like you love your job.”

“Yes, I do,” I replied emphatically, “there’s nothing else in the world that I would rather be doing.”

“It’s a very rare thing to get paid for your passion.”

“I know. Is cooking and catering what you love?” I asked him.

“Yes. As you said there is nothing in this world I would rather be doing.” He paused for a moment, “Except you.”

The look in his eyes said it all. I knew that he craved me like a pregnant woman craved weird foods. My body immediately picked up on his sexual vibe and it wasn’t long before I wanted him too. Asanti and I sat staring at one another, visually undressing each other even though I was already naked.

“Why me? Why Vegas?” I asked him, desperate to figure out what it was about me that had him fixated.

“You’re beautiful,” he said in a tone that told me volumes. “You’re sexually free, and you’re just what I need.”

“How do you know I’m just what you need after only thirty six hours of knowing that I exist?” I asked him as I laid my fork on the plate before me and focused on his handsome face.

Asanti chuckled, his look telling me that he thought the answer to that question was extremely obvious. “Rather than tell you, I’ll show you. Come on,” he stood and made his way toward the balcony with the breathtaking view.

I was up and on his trail in a heartbeat, eagerly following him to whatever destination he had in mind. There was no thought in my actions, only movements propelled by a strong desire to be conquered by the man who had me mesmerized from moment one. Asanti slid the doors of the balcony open and stepped into the Vegas night air. He walked to the edge of the opening and looked over, it was beautiful.

The skyline was lit up like a much larger version of Times Square. He turned to me and said nothing. His expression directed me into his arms. I stepped out of the room and up to him. I was naked, standing high above the Vegas Strip ready to share my everything with Asanti. He grabbed me, then held me, then kissed me until I began to feel dizzy and unbalanced.

Feeling my knees go weak, Asanti grabbed me tighter and held on to me. He was so solid and strong. I felt as though I could lean on him forever and for anything. It was a few minutes before he finally let me go. Slowly, he began turning me toward the beautiful skyline again with my back to him. Then he spoke.

“How many women do you know would meet a man and in a matter of hours of knowing him, trust him enough to follow him to the ends of the earth, or a few thousand miles away from home?” He asked me calmly as he held me from behind.

I was stunned at his question and even more stunned at the answer that immediately flowed out of me. “None!” The shock of hearing myself reveal such craziness had me flabbergasted.

“Exactly,” Asanti said as he wrapped his arms around me and began to glide his fingers over my nipples. “You trusted me from the very beginning.” He lowered his mouth to my neck and began to nuzzle on my delicate flesh. “Something deep in you told you that I wouldn’t harm you yesterday morning,” he continued as I began to melt like hot butter on an August afternoon. I reflected on his words, the previous day, the morning we met. “You trusted me enough to show up at my house later, not knowing if I was Hannibal Lecter or Jason Voorhees.”

His words were beginning to scare me, but his touch was keeping me stock-still. I felt the dangerous excitement zapping me like a bolt of lightning. “You got into my car and allowed me to drive you to dinner when I could have been driving you God knows where, to do God knows what.”

His words were sinking in deeper as he began to slide his fingers away from my belly and down my quickly scorching flesh. My mind was beginning to register what he was saying, how crazily I had behaved. But my body was registering something completely different.
Lust!
I was torn between my fear and my desire. My desire won. Slowly, languidly, I leaned my body back into him, completely ready to give into his every command no matter how deranged and precarious it may have been.

“And now you’re here, in Vegas, thousands of miles away from home with me, a complete stranger and you don’t even know why I brought you here.” His words dug deep into me as he lowered his hands to my tasty treat and used his fingers to dig even deeper. I was pouring.

“Only a soul mate could do something like that, someone who knows you on a level that touches deeper than the eye can see. Deeper than any words can ever get.” I was slipping away as he nibbled softly on my ear while whispering in it as I stared at the beautiful Las Vegas Strip. His fingers glided in and out of me. “Can you feel it, Legaci?” He asked, his strong voice having dropped a notch. “Can you feel the connection between us?” He breathed out deeply. “Can you now see why you’re just what I need?” He questioned, almost demanded as his nuzzling turned into little electrifying bites.

Suddenly he turned me, spun me to face him. The movement was so fast that it left me dizzy and off balance. Asanti snaked out his arms and quickly grabbed me again, holding me tightly, harshly, almost as if he was trying to bind me to him forever. With the quickest movement he raised one of my legs and placed my foot on the balcony rail. His fingers immediately took their place back inside of me, going deeper now with the easier access.

I allowed my head to fall back as I looked up at the sky, my world spinning out of control. The emotion in his eyes was so intense, so encompassing, my heart raced a mile a minute and it scared the hell out of me. I really believed I was in danger. But I was too much in lust to care.

“It turns me on to know how much you trust me, how much you trust me to do what’s right by you. And in you,” he stated as he slid yet another finger into me.” My mind was gone. I was under his seductive spell and ready to serve any purpose he had in mind. “Most women have too many issues, too much baggage,” he said as he brought his face closer to mine. He smiled deviously before licking my full bottom lip. “They’re too afraid to explore their world, to just let go and be natural, wild, and free,” he whispered as he began to lower himself to his knees. I knew what was coming next and shook with anticipation. “But not you, Legaci. You’re free and wild and uninhibited, just as I am,” he said as he brought his face to my core.

“Mmmm,” I couldn’t stop the moan from escaping me.

Asanti went for the gold. He delved in me, in places that were desperate for his touch, places that yearned for the feel of him. He knew just how to please me, just how to taste me. I dug my fingers into his hair. Gripped it tightly. I allowed my head to fall back. I was spinning. Spinning. Out of control. All sanity was gone. I was his for the taking.

“Marry me, Legaci,” he stated calmly as I teetered on the edge of depravity while he tongued my diamond licentiously.

I shook hard. My toes curled. The tears rolled down my face. My sweet juices eagerly escaped me. Asanti never stopped lapping at my apex.

“Yes, Asanti,” I whispered.

The moan that followed was deep and beautiful.

And so was Asanti’s smile.

When I woke it was a little after nine in the morning the next day. The room smelled delicious. Breakfast. I was starving. When I opened my eyes I was a little stunned to be in a new place, but this time I knew exactly where I was and who I was with.

I was with my husband.

I was Mrs. Asanti Styles.

I smiled broadly at that thought as I stretched the kinks out of my sore body.

Then terror like I had never known set in.

How in the hell could I have just up and run off to Vegas and married a man that I hardly knew?
I looked slowly around the room.
I’ve lost my mind, gone stark raving mad.
Asanti was nowhere in sight, but I could hear the shower running. Good.
I need to get out of here and get my sanity back.
I breathed a deep sigh and quickly sat up in bed in an attempt to begin dressing myself. There was just one problem. I had no clothes! Not a strip of material to speak of. Not even my infamous coat, the coat I’d gotten married in while stark naked underneath, was anywhere to be found.
What in the world have I done?

Placing my feet on the floor, I was quick to get out of bed and run frantically, but quietly, around the hotel suite looking for anything that I could throw on. I needed to escape the madness that was holding me captive. My heart raced as I searched and searched each room for anything to don so that I could get to the airport and away from the man who drove me to the point of insanity. But there was nothing. Not a single stitch. The only way for me to leave that suite was to do it in my birthday suit.

Then he was there.

“Looking for something?” He asked me quizzically. There was nothing but hurt in his eyes.

“I… I was looking for my coat,” I stammered, embarrassed and ashamed at my behavior. Both last night and now.

“Are you trying to leave me?” He asked gently as he stood in the midst of the living room draped in nothing but a towel as water slowly rolled off of his rippling flesh and onto the plush carpet beneath him.

I said nothing.

How could I tell my new groom that I was attempting to run away from him only to never be seen or heard from again?

“Please answer me, Legaci,” he spoke so calmly, so peacefully as his eyes bored into my soul.

“Yes,” I could only be honest.

“Why?” He asked as though any answer I could possibly give would tear his soul apart.

“Because I’m terrified.” I told him the truth.

“Don’t be,” he said as he closed the distance between us.

His lips were on mine in an instant. Crushing them. I surrendered in no time. Asanti’s tongue slipped easily between my slightly opened lips. He licked them softly before using his tongue to seek out my tongue. Our mouths danced intimately. Suddenly his hands were on me. Everywhere. I could feel my moistness.

Slowly I was being lowered to the carpeted floor. Asanti’s towel was tossed far into the distance. My husband was on top of me, spreading my legs swiftly. He wasted no time entering me. I melted.

“You’re my wife, Legaci,” he said as he thrust with feeling and passion. “Never fear me.”

At that moment I didn’t. I couldn’t. There was not a drop of fear present in me. All I could feel was fire.

Asanti made love to me like it would be the last time. Fierce and rough, yet so gentle and loving. My body was stunned into submission. Stunned into obedience. He seemed to possess me. To own me. I was no longer my own person, but his.
