The flint weapons of these early dawn men were quite excellently chiseled, done
with painstaking care, and an amazing accurateness. They were far superior to
the rough, crude hand axes of the Neanderthal. Their edges were sometimes razor
sharp, and their shapes ranged from perfect spear tips, to a variety of axes
(to which handles were cleverly attached) to slim-bladcd knives and even
double-edged tools.—Ed.
