Chapter Thirty

Max

I could feel her physically trembling
.

I felt it against my mouth that slid
achingly slow against the hot line of her neck. I was aiming to bring her
undone. Little did she know what the soft feel of her skin and the smell of her
was doing to me. Oh yeah, I was trying to be so fucking controlled and yet her
just standing before me was enough to drive a bloke insane. I drew back, a cocky
grin lining my face, taking in the heated depths of her eyes. She was a
terrible liar, bloody awful at hiding her emotions, and in times like this, I
thanked God. I wanted to see it: every single expression that betrayed her, the
deep heaves of her breathing, the deep swallowing, the blinking in an effort to
focus. I revelled in it, bloody glorified in watching the beautiful lines of
her face change as I skimmed my hand up her stomach, playing my fingers along
her ribs seeing her inhale a shocked breath which only caused me to smile
broader. I slid my hands lower peeling the fabric of her dress aside, letting
my fingers feel the soft, silky, smooth skin that made me instantly hard.

My lips brushed against her lobe. “Does he
touch you like this?”

A slight shake of her head had me breathing
out a laugh. She was clearly too focussed on keeping it together—well, we would
see about that. My tongue teasingly trailed a blistering line across her
collarbone before ending the line with a kiss, and a graze of my teeth.

“Does he taste you like this?”

I heard her swallow, her mouth dry of
moisture, something I was looking forward to replenishing, but I had to do this
right, had to play it out as I planned, keep my fuzzy head together before all
thought went out the window and I fucked her against this wall.

“No,” she breathed.

I smiled against her skin.

Of course he didn’t.

Knowing he didn’t exist didn’t alter the
fantasy; the fact I was doing things to her potentially no one had done before
was enough to turn me on, and in
my
mind even if it only was pure
fantasy, the things I wanted to do her … oh, Jesus.

Mel slid her hand under the back of my
shirt, and the heat of her soft hand exploring was enough to throw me. My eyes
ticked across her face; she tentatively bit her lip as she looked up at me from
under her thick lashes. This was not good, I had to reclaim back some control,
my head was spinning. This was not good, not good at all, and just as I planned
to take back control, Mel ran her nails down my back and I was a fucking goner.
I pushed my hand under her dress, touching the damp, hot feel of her against
her knickers.

Mel leaned into me, her hot breath burning
against my neck, her soft whimpers and moans urging me on, her body begging for
more, that what I was doing wasn’t enough and it wasn’t, not for her and
certainly not for me. Against my entire plan, I was about to break the very
first rule, the one that I had adamantly told myself over and over again no
matter what happened, no matter what went down.

Don’t kiss her.

And just as the very demand rang inside my
head, I looked down at her mouth and then into her pleading eyes, and I knew
within that very moment, the Devil on my shoulder said fuck it! And just as
quickly as the Devil gave me the go-ahead all thoughts, all plans went out the
window. I kissed the bloody girl. More than that, I kissed her with such a
reverent need, that if by doing so she was giving me the very air I needed,
taking her mouth with a deep-seated hunger. I thought I had lit a spark merely
by crumbling, but when Mel slid that hot tongue into my mouth, tasting and
tangling with mine, a groan escaped me as my hand fisted into her hair, angling
her head to gain better access to her hot, needy mouth. Why had I wanted to
deny myself of these lips? Walking away with such a sweet mouth untouched, her
taste would linger, and when it disappeared into nothing I could feel myself
needing more, another hit like a drug. If I was in trouble before, I knew
without an ounce of uncertainty that this little experiment, which had
seriously fucking backfired, would be hopefully repeated again before the week
was out. I broke, mostly for the need to breathe but to also look into her
dreamy, heavy-lidded eyes. As I smiled knowingly at her kiss-swollen lips, my laboured
breaths mirroring her own, I reeled my head back into the reality of this
situation.

I swallowed, pressing my lips together,
savouring her taste. “Does he kiss you like that?” I whispered.

“Never,” she breathed.

And with a low chuckle I edged her backwards
until the back of her knees hit the bed. She sat down on the edge of it,
looking up at me with those damn eyes that bewitched me into thinking the most
sordid things. I peeled my shirt over my head, letting it fall to the ground,
and before I could move closer, Mel stilled me, her hands moving to unbutton
the zip of my jeans. Impatiently, she tugged at the button, sliding the zip
down and loosening the denim around my waist. I leant down, kissing her,
gaining control as I moved her back onto the bed, MY bed.

In this moment as I kissed and nipped and
ground against this girl, I couldn’t have cared if she was a liar, or if she
was Bluey’s daughter, or even if Ben fucking Erickson was real or fake. All I
cared about was tasting every inch of the most infuriatingly frustrating girl I
had ever known. The blush of her cheeks now? There was no doubt it was because
I had put it there, and a burst of male pride tightened my chest each time a
small groan or whimper escaped her.

“Shhh, Chris is next door,” I whispered.

“I don’t care,” she sighed, biting me
playfully on the shoulder, which was enough for a bloke to lose it right there
and then. No more gently-gently. I was desperate, moving off the bed so as to
strip myself of shoes, socks, my jeans and briefs. Moving back over her again
her eyes widened, as if this was not exactly something that happened every
night of the week. I cursed myself for not thinking that this probably was new
to her, and was ready to slow down a bit until Mel hitched up her dress revealing
the white scrap of her knickers, knickers that were now peeling down her
thighs. Now I was the one trembling, as I clumsily moved to rip them down her
long legs. Mel giggled at my eagerness, as if I was a child on Christmas
morning unwrapping my present. Mel sat up, peeling off her dress and throwing
it across the room, before sliding the straps of her bra down, and unclipping
the back. There was nothing but skin, mine, hers, no barrier between us as I
lowered my mouth to hers, dipping my tongue in her sweet mouth until her rigid,
upright position on the bed made her melt against the mattress. I worked my way
over the beautiful soft canvas of her body. At this point I couldn’t give a
shit about the noises she made, about who heard. If anything, I wanted her to
be loud to urge me on with every part of her I was tasting, one breast and then
the other, squeezing the bud into my mouth, causing her to buck against me.

I moved back up to her mouth, kissing her
so passionately I worried I wouldn’t be able to hold off much longer. “Open up
for me,” I breathed against her mouth. A small line pinched between her brow as
if she were trying to grasp onto the edges of my words. I smiled, dipping my
hand between her thighs and pushing inside her. “Here,” I said, as her gasp had
her realising what I meant. Her legs widening instantly as she bit her lip and
rocked into my hand. “Oh God,” she moaned, knowing it wouldn’t take much and
feeling as I couldn’t wait either. I had to be inside her and give her a slice
of freedom she had never known.

And just as I was about to go there, I
swore under my breath.

Fuck!

“What’s wrong?” Mel hitched herself onto
her elbows, concern etched on her face. “Did I do something wrong?”

My shoulders slumped. “No, sweetheart. I’m
the grade-A fuck up here.”

Her confused eyes ticked over my face as I
blew out a frustrated breath, rolling to the side, running my hands through my
hair.

Mel quickly grabbed the blanket to her
chest, looking down on me.

“I don’t have any fucking protection.”

There was a silence, a long, drawn-out
silence, before Mel started laughing, like really laughing. This was not what I
expected. “What’s so bloody funny?” I glowered, thinking that this was by far
the least funny situation ever.

“Are you seriously going to lie there and
tell me you don’t have a condom?” Mel said.

What did she think? I had come up here to
bed her? Far from it.

Mel grinned like a Cheshire cat; I was
starting to feel a little unmanly over the fact she was taking this so well.
She simply looked down at me; shaking her head, she leaned over me, her bare
breasts pressing against me as a form of torture until I realised what she was
doing. She slid open the top drawer of the side table, reaching inside and
grabbing out …

Holy shit.

A great long line of condoms that she
playfully swung around. “Ta-da!”

I frowned, sitting myself up. “What the
hell?” I asked, looking from the long line to Mel. “Are these yours?” I asked,
horrified and thinking maybe Mel wasn’t as innocent as I had thought.

“No!” she said quickly, causing relief to
wash over me. “They’re yours.”

“Umm, no, they’re not,” I scoffed.

Mel rolled her eyes. “Don’t act all coy,
they’re in your top drawer.”

“I swear they’re not mine.”

And then I thought back to Adam, or Ringer,
even Sean, and their pranks. “It must have been planted there.” The freakin’
smart arses. “Knowing you were in my room now.”

Mel smirked. “I guess that sounds
plausible.”

“Believe me, with these blokes I’m just
glad there wasn’t a tube of lube and a rubber chicken stuffed in there.”

Mel burst out laughing, “Oh God, what a
mood killer.”

“Well, you’re not likely to forget this
night in a hurry.” Thinking that maybe the interruption was just as well, that
we stopped now. But when Mel placed her hand on my chest and pushed me back
against the bed, slowly straddling me, my breath hitched at the feel of her
heat. She looked at me with wicked determination as she tore a foil square off
the chain and opened it with her teeth, never taking her eyes off me; she took
me into her hand and slowly leaned down and kissed me gently on the mouth. “Let’s
make it a night we will both remember.”

Chapter Thirty-One

Mel

Max sat up, claiming my mouth in a
moment to still me, to fuse my thoughts as he knew his wicked mouth did before
he flipped me onto my back. I giggled at the unexpectedness of it.

“No laughing, this is very serious
business,” he said, kissing a line down over my breasts before moving back up
and claiming my mouth once more.

“You sure about this?” he breathed out and
pressed his forehead against mine.

I couldn’t help but move my head, all
breath being robbed from me any time he touched me
there
as he was now.

I was ready, so ready. I had fantasised
about this with him since I was old enough to have those thoughts. If this was
the first and last time I would be able to experience this feeling with him
then I would just have to live with that. Right now I would rather have a night
of something wonderful than a whole lifetime of nothing. If I had to be
grounded for the rest of my days I wouldn’t care because I would have this
night, a night to remember.

I felt him rub against me, readying to push
into me. Only now did I feel the panic rise in me, the reality of the moment. “You
okay?”

“Yep.” I swallowed, psyching myself up as
he slowly moved into me.

Oh God, there is no way he is going to
fit, there is no way.

“Breathe, Mel. Relax.” Max whispered words
into my neck.

I did as he instructed and was thinking it
was impossible to relax in any way, until he used his thumb to rub against the
sensitive nub.

“Oh.” I bit my lip.

The boy was a genius, I thought, as my hips
began to rock instinctively into his touch, the tension of my body melting as
the pleasure built, further and further until I was begging him to be inside
me, to fuck me. That was such a shocking thing to say out loud, but I didn’t
care. I just let the sensation build until finally, Max pushed inside me, in
one firm, intense stroke that took my breath away, my hands fisting in the
sheets until the searing pain subsided.

“You okay?” Max asked, almost panicked. I
bit my lip, nodding slowly, as I started to rock my hips, slowly urging him on,
trying not to let on that it was a big deal, that I was okay.

Oh God, this was happening, this was really
happening. My thoughts were running rampant but so was every sensation, of
feeling so full and revelling in the new, strange sensation. He slowly moved in
and out of me, gently at first, taking my mouth and whispering words of
encouragement until I was completely lost in the feel of him, and soon the pain
was nothing compared to him looking down on me, his pace becoming more
demanding—more feverish—his arms on either side of me caging me in as he rocked
into me again and again.

“That’s it, let it go,” Max groaned into my
neck, urging me on to topple towards the destination my body was taking me, and
just as my nails dug into Max’s hips and he knowingly captured my scream with
his mouth, just as I was about to lose all control and Max’s name was on the
edge of my lips, the bedroom door flung open and we were flooded with the light
of the hall.

***

“Chris, get the fuck out of here!” Max
yelled, yanking the blankets over us as I screamed and moved to disappear under
the sheet behind Max, hiding every part of me, including my mortified face.

“Oh, shit.” Chris spun around, looking up
at the ceiling, his hands on his head in despair. “Shit, sorry, I didn’t … um—”

“Yeah, well, have you ever heard of fucking
knocking?” Max was furious; if he wasn’t bound by his nakedness I wouldn’t want
to be Chris right now; hell, I didn’t want to be me right now.

“Yeah, well some things can’t wait,” said
Chris.

“It can wait,” gritted Max.

“No, really, it can’t.”

“I swear to God, Chris.” Max peeled on his
jeans, zipping them up. “There better be a fucking murder.”

Chris turned slightly, ensuring his gaze
was directly on Max. “There just might be,” he said, his eyes shifting to me. “Mel,
your dad’s downstairs.”

***

“Oh-my-God-Oh-my-God-Oh- God.”

It was all I could say as I ran around the
room doing up my buttons. Max was putting on his socks and shoes like a mad
man.

“What is he doing back so early?”

“How the hell should I know?” I snapped.

Talk about a night I wouldn’t forget all
right, I would never forget this cardiac arrest I was about to have.

Max had told Chris to stall him, entertain
him somehow while we got our shit together. I went to run out of the room
before Max grabbed me by the arm.

“Mel, just calm down, there’s no use going
down all …” He paused, his brows narrowing. “Shit.”

“What?”

Max grabbed my head, tilting it to the
side. “Did I do that?” he asked.

Oh God, the HICKEY!

I went to the mirror, the foundation having
rubbed off in the heat of the moment. I couldn’t deal with this right now, but
when I caught the cringe in the mirror I knew I didn’t have to.

“Shit, Mel, sorry, I must have got carried
away ...”

I quickly patted on some more foundation
before pushing my hair over to cover it.

This was so not ideal on so many levels. I
looked in the mirror. Here I was, hiding a love bite and having the decidedly
dishevelled, ‘Hey guess what? I just lost my virginity’ look about me.

This was bad, very bad. I was so crap at
hiding my emotions, how would I ever walk down those stairs and face the one
person who could see right through me. I was going to be grounded for the rest
of my life.
