Loki prayed that she still wanted him, because he couldn’t find it in himself to just let her walk away. A bigger man would have taken their moment of passion and allowed Chantelle her freedom but he couldn’t bear the thought.

Chantelle eyed him and his heart sank. He had only done what he needed to do in the forest to save both their lives. Yet, why after everything that had happened would she still want him?

“I do not wish to force our bond on you.” A tear rolled down her cheek.

Loki couldn’t find words to tell her how much he loved her. How he had searched for centuries for just a glimpse of her. How a life without her wasn’t really a life at all. So he captured her lips in a heated kiss, hoping to pour all of his love into one touch of their lips. Fisting her curls in his hand, Loki deepened the kiss. Dragging her closer to him; making them almost one.

Loki only pulled away from her when their friends began to catcall. Chantelle blushed as she buried her head in his chest, all remnants of her warrior gone. Sleeping, now that her mate was safe and back in her arms; waiting just below the surface if there ever was a need of her again.

“Let us head home, little one. I do believe I should ask Emma for her blessing if we are to be bound properly.” A smile lit her face at Loki’s words.
