Bind off on right side every other row 2 sts 5x, 1 st 11 x. At the same time, at ½” from border bind off on left side as follows: 7 sts 1 x and work the last 4 sts on left YO, slip 1, K1, PSSO, P2, decreasing before these 4 sts every other row 8x, then every row 26x. Decrease by knitting 2 sts together or purling 2 sts together. When piece measures 5” place remaining 6 sts on holder.

Right cup: Work to match left cup, reversing shaping by picking up 34 sts on holder and increasing to 68 sts.

Inside borders: With size 4 needles pick up 50 sts for inside borders of bra. K1, P1 for 5 rows. Bind off in rib.

Neck border: With size 4 needles pick up 6 sts on holder. Knit in garter for 9". Join to the remaining 6 sts on other cup and work three–needle bind–off. Join the 2 cups together. Decorate with either an appliqué flower or a button.

Cord: Either crochet I–cord or make a twist cord for 20". Make 4 pieces 9” long each for side closures.

BACK

Cast on 80 sts with double yarn using 1 strand of each color.

Work in seed stitch until jacket measures 13".

ARMHOLE SHAPING

Bind off 4 sts at beginning of next 2 rows.

Bind off 2 sts at beginning of next 2 rows.

K2tog at each end of needle of every other row 6x.

When armhole measures
8½”
put all sts on stitch holder.

FRONT

Make 2 pieces, reversing shapings.

Cast on 40 sts.

Work in seed stitch until piece measures same as back to armhole.

Start armhole shaping and neck decreases same as back, but on one side only.

At the same time start neck decreases as follows:

K2tog, then alternately (every 3rd row, every 4th row) 13x more for a total of 14 decreases.

When piece measures same as back put remaining 14 sts on stitch holder.

SLEEVES

Cast on 39 sts.

Work in seed stitch.

Increase 1 st at each end of needle every 12th row 6x= 51 sts.

When sleeve measures 17” bind off 4 sts at beginning of next 2 rows.

Bind off 2 sts at beginning of next 2 rows.

K2tog at each end of needle every other row 7x.

When armhole measures 5¾” bind off 2 sts at beginning of next 2 rows.

Bind off 3 sts at beginning of next 2 rows. Bind off remaining 15 sts at once.

FINISHING

Single crochet all around front of sweater by ∗ single crochet 3 sts in a row, skip 1∗.

On second row of single crochet make 5 evenly spaced buttonholes. Make first buttonhole 1 “ from bottom as follows: chain 2, skip 2. Finish with a crab stitch or reverse crochet.

Sew sweater, insert sleeves, and sew Piuma around bottom of sweater and sleeves.

 

 

 

[Dress]

18 balls Katia Gatsby
(9 balls each of two different browns. Yarn is doubled with one strand of each color.)

MEASUREMENT
Size 38, length 34½”

BACK

With size 9 needles cast on 77 sts.

Work in seed stitch for 4 rows.

Change to stockinette. Increase 1 st at each end of needle on every 33rd row 4x (85 sts).

When piece measures 21” start dart decreases as follows:

K21, slip 1, K1, PSSO, K1, K2tog, continue to the last 26 sts, slip 1, K1, PSSO, K1, K2tog, K21.

Knit 20 rows.

Repeat the dart decreases 1 more time.

When piece measures 26½” increase 1 st at end of every 8th row 4x.

When piece measures 34½” shape armholes.

Bind off 5 sts at beginning of next 2 rows.

Bind off 2 sts at beginning of next 2 rows.

K2tog at each end of needle every other row 5x.

When armhole measures 8½” put remaining 61 sts on stitch holder.

FRONT

Proceed same as back until armhole measures 5".

Put the center 23 sts on stitch holder.

Attach another ball of yarn. At neck edge every other row bind off 3 sts 1 x, 2 sts 2x, K2tog every other row 2x.

When piece measures same as back put all sts on holder.

FINISHING

Join shoulder seams with a three–needle bind–off.

With size 7 circular 16” needles pick up and knit 100 sts around neck. Work 6 rows in seed stitch.

Bind off loosely in seed stitch.

Pick up and knit 85 sts around each armhole.

Work 6 rows in seed stitch.

Bind off loosely in seed stitch.

Sew seams together.

Cast on 55 (57) sts.

Work in seed stitch for 4 rows.

Continue in stockinette until piece measures 20½".

ARMHOLE SHAPING

Bind off 3 sts at beginning of next 4 rows.

Bind off 2 sts at beginning of next 2 rows.

K2tog at beginning and end of needle 1x= 37 (39) sts.

When armhole measures∗∗ put all sts on stitch holder.

FRONT

Cast on 41 (43) sts.

Keeping the first 3 sts in seed, continue in stockinette on the remaining 38 (40) sts.
