I walk up close to him.” You really sold your company and your house and purchased this house before you even knew how I would react?”

“You said it yourself. I needed a change. You asked me,
what’s next August?”
He looks around the room.” This is what’s
next
. I love you. I was determined to win you back.”

“I love that you have done all this for me. But, is this what is going to make you happy? You’re a city boy at heart. Can you live like this?”

“My heart belongs to you and our daughter, nothing else matters to me anymore. I’ve had all the finer things in life, I’ve traveled to beautiful places, but none of it means anything to me without you. We still have more money than we will ever spend and we can have a great life together, but I want that life with you. If that means learning how to be a country boy then so be it.”

“It doesn’t all have to be about me August, we just need to compromise.”

“Don’t worry. I will still be controlling and you will want for nothing.”

I step up and kiss him on the cheek.” I like some of your controlling ways.”

“Good, because I like when you let me control you.” Our kiss heats up.

I feel the baby kick. Those kicks are getting stronger. I break our kiss and place his hand on my belly.” Feel this.”

“It feels like a flutter.”

“That’s your daughter kicking me.”

He gets on his knees and kisses my belly. “I love you little one. I promise I will take good care of you and your mommy if she will let me.”

I run my hands through his hair. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small box. He opens it and there is a simple silver ring with a square diamond in the middle.” Will you marry me, Nash?”

My eyes begin to water. Two days ago I thought I had lost this beautiful man forever, and now here he is in front of me asking me to be his wife. There is only one possible answer for him.

“Yes, August, I will marry you.” He places the ring on my finger and I pull him up to me. We kiss deeply.

“Do you think we could do it soon because I don’t know how much longer I can keep my hands off of you.” He says between kisses.

“We can find the justice of the peace today.”

He picks me up and twirls me around the room.

“August, put me down, you’re making me dizzy. I still get queasy pretty easily.”

“I love you, Nash.”

“I love you, too. But I need two more promises from you.”

“I’m afraid to ask.”

“One. I want you to at least try a pair of cowboy boots because I would love to peel them off of you like you do me.”

“Deal.”

“Two. I want to name our little girl Sara.”

I see tears form in his deep brown eyes. He kisses me again. He rubs my belly.” Sara Rylan,” he whispers it, and it sounds just right.
