“Why did you leave me?” I said.
“I’m so sorry, my love. I’m so sorry.”

I was inside of her. My cock was in her pussy, which was as wet as if she was still alive. I could feel her clit, her cervix, everything. I could feel it. Her hips, back and forth, the dance began again.

The dance began again.
The dance would never end.
She held my lips to her nipples and I licked and sucked like a newborn child.
I opened my eyes.
She was gone.
It was a dream.
Nothing but a fantasy. More like a nightmare.

If it was all a dream, though,
as the morning sunshine came through
,
I thought
, if it’s all a dream, then why is her ripped nightgown from the first time we made love on my bedroom floor?

There it was. I picked it up, smelled it to my face, it was hers, all right.

What is going on?

What is this?

What IS this???

I fucked a lot of girls. Ever since Nicole. It always felt like I was cheating.

I was obsessed.

I had to end this. I had to get her out of my mind. All I could think about was her wet pussy taking over my hard, hard cock. Her wet pussy. Swallowing my loving penis. God. We were one. The way she fucked me, with her on top, grinding.

The next night, I went back to the strip club, and hid across the street. I watched, and waited. Was she still alive? Was this all a dream?

What was happening to me?

What was happening?

Eventually, I saw Flair. Again.

He walked out with the bouncer. They both were leaving together.

Why?

I followed on foot.

It was a crowded night in the Quarter, so it was easy to stay hidden. Inconspicuous. More difficult to follow them, though, I passed all the revelers, but kept my eye on the target.

Where are they going?

They walked with purpose. They were going somewhere. I could just tell. My instincts told me. They were not going somewhere for anything but a bad horrible purpose.
Flair, you are supposed to be an officer of the law. What law? Fuck the law.

Please. New Orleans cops are all corrupt, I can see now. All on the take in some way. All part of the Big Easy. How easy it is to fall into sin and despair. That’s all I am. In sin and despair. What sin? The sin of heartbreak.

They walked into a church.

A church? What the hell are they doing in a church?

I was intrigued, scared, I didn’t know what the hell they were doing. But I had to find out. And I would. The church looked like it was built recently, not old and ancient like everything else around New Orleans. Not beautiful or ornate in that beautiful American southern way.

I tried to go in the front door after them. But it was locked. I snuck around the back, and looked in through a window.

There were people praying and worshipping. A priest was giving a sermon, about what, I could not tell. But I could see Flair and the bouncer walk around the worshippers and into a room in the back. I continued down the side of the church and found that a door was unlocked. I entered just to see them go down a set of steps.

I snuck in, hid to the side of the staircase and watched them. They walked down the stairs to a door at the bottom, which had an electronic keypad. I could see the numbers they entered as they went in and shut the door.

666.

Subtle
, I thought, as I waited a minute, and then followed them through.

I was stepping into a nightmare. I knew it. I was descending into hell. Not THE hell, but I continued. Unarmed, and unprepared for what I was about to see. I didn’t bring my gun.

I don’t know why I made that mistake.

The hallway was dark. Stone. Dirty. I could see a doorway at the other end of the hall. I tiptoed down and peered in.

Pews. Candles. Pumpkins. Skeletons. Blood. An altar. An upside-down cross. A naked girl, no older than 16, tied to the altar. An upside-down cross and a pentangle painted in blood on her naked chest. She was getting fucked by several men at once. They all took their turns. It was a ritual of some kind.

Hell.

Rape.

Her eyes were in the back of her head. She was in some kind of trance. I didn’t know if it was rape, but I knew it was wrong. I turned away, but I was hard.

Why? No!

The priest, dressed completely in black, hooded, chanted something. Satanic. What else could it be? The crowd, composed of men and women, chanted with him.

The room vibrated slightly.

What God could let this happen?

I could see Flair take his turn on the girl. The bouncer shoved his cock into her mouth. She accepted it, I didn’t know why. But then…

What is going on?

Who is that?

Who is the Priest?

He took off the hood.

No…no…NO!

I shook when I saw who it was.
Benjamin Boucher.
Nicole’s husband and murderer.
That son of a bitch is alive.
Boucher’s eyes glowed red as he plunged a dagger into the girl’s heart. She was dead instantly.

I ran down the hall. I had to run. They just murdered an innocent young girl.
What the fuck did I just step into? Nicole, I need you, where are you?

I ran home and ran into my bedroom, got my gun, loaded it. Got two clips. And went to action.

I went back to the church and waited. Eventually Flair came outside, alone. I followed him. He walked up to his apartment building, and I put the gun to his head after sneaking up behind him.

“You’re coming with me.”
He put his hands up, and without turning around, said, “Did you enjoy what you saw, Eric?”
“You’re going to hell.”
“Oh, Eric. Looks like you are in a lot of trouble.”
I hit him over the head with my gun. He fell to the ground.

“I’m in a lot of trouble?” I said, pointing the gun to his head, “You’re right. But I’m willing to die for a good cause or for a good reason, unlike that little girl you just murdered.”

“She went willingly, Eric. She knew what she was doing. She is with her master now. And she is very happy.”

“I don’t see…what kind of drugs did you put her on? Murderer! I should just kill you right now. But first I need you to tell me what the fuck Benjamin Boucher is doing not dead!”

“Isn’t it obvious?”
“No, nothing is obvious to me anymore. You are going to tell me…”
People were coming down the street. I grabbed him and shoved him inside.
“Now we can add kidnapping to your list of charges, Eric.”
“Clearly, you have a lot more to lose than I do, Flair. Fucking talk. Now. What is Boucher doing alive?”

“He never died, Eric. He never died. He made a deal with our Lord and Master. Our savior. But not the Lord and Savior you are thinking of.”

“What kind of deal?”

“Oh you know, the kind that helps our Master regain a foothold on the world. He is still so angry. He is still so angry. He can’t ever forgive God. His father. For what God did to him. Benjamin made a deal with our Lord Satani. His soul for a seat on the chain. The chain of power.”

“This is insane,” I said, “And it makes no sense why you would give up the goods so quickly. I should just kill you right now, this is bullshit.”

“She’s alive, Eric.”
I took a step back, but kept the gun on him.
“You’re lying.”

“No, no, I’m not. She is alive, and if you want her, you’re going to have to listen to me, young man. She has good in her. That is why she found you. That is why she isn’t gone forever. We’ve been trying to break her for years. She keeps holding on. Holding on, to you. She is alive, but the Master wants her. Our Lord wants her for his own.”

I had enough, so I fired a bullet into his shoulder. He screamed out in pain. And smiled.
“You’re going to bleed to death, you son of a bitch,” I said, “Where is she? WHERE IS SHE?”
“You want her back? You need to go to Voulette Island. Right now, you need to go there. Your life, for hers.”
“You’re changing your story, fuck-head.”

“I thought the Master wanted her for his own. But now I can see that he wants you. We’ll take you, over her. You’re so good, Eric. So good, such a good soul. The Master likes it both ways.”

“I will die for her. Let her live, take me instead.”
“Do you know where Voulette Island is?”
“Yes, in the middle of the Bayou. Private island, owned by, owned by…you have got to be kidding me.”

“That’s right, the Mayor of New Orleans. We are everywhere. Of course, I could be lying. We are going to kill you anyway, Eric. So you might as well believe me. Our Master honors his bargains. Too bad most people never read the fine print. But there isn’t any here. You come quietly and do what we say, we will let her live.”

“Fine, I’m going to go there now. Thank you for your help.”
“Good, we should get moving…”
BLAM.
I put two in his head and walked away.

If I’m going to die, you are coming with me, prick, my way.

I would get her back.

I am going to save her. I’ll die happy. I’ll die happy, thinking of her naked body. Oh the heaven that came with her pussy, the way she kissed me. Paradise found in her arms, her loving embrace. Even for the brief time that I had, it would last a lifetime. It was all I needed to go into the next world. What next world would there ever be?

I rented a small boat, took my gun and every bullet I had. I had my gun, this time. I would be armed, and ready to take as many of those bastards with me before I was to die.

The sun set and the sky went crimson.

I could feel the ghosts of my past following me. Leading me to my death. It would be worth it. I would save her. Nicole would be alive.

Every girl I fucked never compared to Nicole. Never.
It got darker as I traveled deeper into the swamp.
I had no idea where I was, but I knew I had arrived.
Voulette Island.

It was a mansion on the small island. Other boats were docked. It was silent, way too quiet to be anything but completely full of dread. Horrible.

Death waiting for me.
I pulled the boat up to the dock and got out. I walked to the front door and before I could knock, it opened.
“Where is she?” I had my gun pointed at the three guards. They were all dressed in black.
“You come with us, we let her go.”
“No, she leaves first in my boat. Once she is safe, I come quietly.”
“Put down the gun, Eric.”
“No dice, asshole.”
“GET HIM!”

I fired my gun into all three of them, and down they went. I ran into the house. I heard someone shout to ‘sound the alarm’. I kept going. I didn’t know where I was going, but something led me to the proper spot. Down a staircase and into a hallway. There was a room amongst all the other rooms; the door was wired. I kicked the door down, and there she was, Nicole, tied to chair.

She looked up at me and said, “My love.”
I ran up to her, kissed her and untied her.
“Nicole, we have to get out of here. You need to get out of her, now.”
“What are you doing here, Eric?”
“What are you doing alive? We’ll talk later, come on, let’s go.”
I turned around, saying, “Stay behind me.”
I felt the knife enter my shoulder blade.
I dropped to my knees. Looked up.
She stood there, a dagger in her hand.
“You have finally come to us, Eric. So glad to see you again. You made it.”
Just as Benjamin Boucher and three of his minions entered.
I was bleeding. I didn’t care.
I wanted to die.
My love had betrayed me.

“Isn’t this just so sad? Hello my darling,” Boucher said, kissing Nicole on the lips. It made me sick. But I was too weak to protest. I was dying, literally, but I didn’t care. I wanted to die.

Boucher continued, “I see that cop Flair was finally good for something. To think, he almost gave it away five years ago that we were faking our deaths, just to get to you. It’s you we’ve wanted all along, Eric. You’re such an Angel. We have wanted you for a long time. But we needed you to be just the right kind of vulnerable. I have been waiting for tonight for so long. Such a long time.”
