Chapter Eighteen

The next morning, Adam woke up to the sound of thunder and lightening. He rolled over barely opening his eyes. He looked out the widow and the clock. It said eight-thirty, he wondered if it meant am or pm.

He rolled back over and watched Janette as she continued to sleep. He didn’t want to wake her. He wanted to enjoy the look and sound of her as she quietly snored.

Another clap of thunder shook the room. This time Janette squirmed. She popped one eye open and searched the room.

“My goodness! It’s pouring.”

She sat all the way up, again her gown twisted all over her body, exposing some nice flesh. “Yeah, looks like whatever plans we had are gonna have to wait.”

She sighed and got out of bed. “I was looking forward to the boat ride.”

“It might stop by tonight.” He got up and stretched, then looked out the window. Maybe not. This storm bordered on monsoon.

“So since we’re stranded in here, what do you want to do?”

“Nice place to get stranded, don’t you think?” Adam winked.

“You know what I mean.” Jeanette went into the closet and pulled out another sweater and a pair of stretchy pants.

“This is a perfect time to get to know each other, I think.”

She turned and looked at him, then at the window and nodded. “I agree. Why don’t you order breakfast, and not the regular fair. I want an American breakfast.”

“Something fattening.” Adam chuckled.

“You got it.” She shut the door to the bath. He ordered eggs, sausages, croissants, potatoes, biscuits and gravy. That even put a smile on his face.

After a half hour, Jeanette emerged from the bath. She looked stunning in her tight sweater and even tighter jean leggings. And speaking of tight, it started to get tight in his silk pajama bottoms.

He went to the closet and grabbed his jeans and a knit sweater. They matched like a couple.

“I’ll be back, I ordered breakfast. I think you’ll be pleased. It includes an order of biscuits and gravy.”

“Mmm, sounds good.” She rubbed her hands together licking her lips.

That did it. He needed to leave the room. “Back in a sec.” He went into the bath and leaned against the closed door. A week of this. He didn’t think he could survive. The only saving grace was work on the weekdays. But the nights were getting longer, with no relief in sight.

He quickly got ready and went back into the room. Jeanette sat in the living area and the smell of freshly brewed coffee and potatoes hit his nose.

“Fantastic.” He sat down beside her. “I’m with you. I can only eat so much fruit and yogurt. He grabbed a piece of toast and put some eggs and sausages on his plate. “So, what do you think so far?”

Jeanette put down her cup and took a bite of toast. “About what?”

“The job, this assignment in general.” He figured he would get her talking on work related issues, since she opened up more on those types of topics.

“I didn’t have a chance to acclimate myself back at the office in the States. Before I knew it, I’m being shipped off to Paris.” She snickered. “Not complaining, but I didn’t meet half the staff.” She took a sip of coffee.

“I can understand you might feel a bit overwhelmed.”

“Not so much that, but I do need to take a breath.”

“Today looks like a great day for that.”

She smiled up at him and took a bite of her toast. “I guess so. Tell me, how do you feel about this assignment. A bit if a mystery huh?”

“It is considering all the plans and programs I put into place and it’s still happening. And it’s also very interesting that it’s coming from our Paris office.” Adam took a gulp of coffee, but it was too hot. How Jeanette took a healthy swig of the boiling java kinda impressed him.

“Do you have a list of suspects?”

“Not a clue.”

“We might have to stretch this trip out.”

Adam smiled and reached for Jeanette’s hand. Before she knew what he did, he kissed the back of it. “No hardship here.”

“Adam, be honest with me.”

Usually a statement like that coming from a woman was a landmine. There was never a right answer, statement, nothing! However, that wasn’t going to faze him. He would be honest with her. For one, he already screwed up with omitting the truth about their travel arrangements. Two, he had nothing to hide. He needed to be forthright with her from now on. “Go ahead, shoot,” he said, picking up a croissant.

“What is it about me that you’re so attracted to. There are a lot of younger women at the office, who are much prettier and probably more your type.”

“More, my type? If you mean white, let me tell you. I love women, period. Younger than you? Age is just a number, and if you hadn’t told me your age I would have sworn you were younger than me.

“Prettier? Yeah, there are a lot of pretty women at the office. But there is only one exquisite beauty that works there.” He leaned in and kissed her cheek. “So soft,” he whispered in her ear.

“Adam.” She raised her hand to push him away; instead he took it and kissed it too.

“Hush for a moment. Let me just kiss and hold you, that’s all I want.”

“But…but...it’s going to lead to something else.” She took his face in both her hands and kissed him back. He had her.              That’s all he needed. He kissed her harder, wrapping his arms around her shoulders.

“I promise, only kissing and hugging. I’ll make sure it doesn’t go any further. I just want to make you come in my arms again.” He began kissing her on the neck.

“You can’t do that without…going…all the way.”

“You should know me by now. I can make you come without taking off your clothes.”

Jeanette became putty in his hands once again. She knew sharing a room with him was a bad idea. But she couldn’t pass up the Shangri-La Hotel. Well, this is what she gets.

Now being in his arms again brought memories back to her body. It responded like the day he had her on her desk in the office and back in the elevator in the States. How he did that with a mere kiss was beyond her comprehension. Many of her exes kissed her and she barely warmed up.

Adam took her earlobe and kissed it. Jeanette reacted in way that surprised her. She nearly came. Good God! This man was good.

He moved on to her neck and shoulders, his soft hair rubbed against her creating a sensual experience the likes she’s never felt. She wanted to crawl into his hair naked.

“Let me take you back to the bed,” he breathed in her ear.

“We’ll end up naked again,” Jeanette protested between kisses.

“I told you, no clothes will have to come off. I’ll have you creaming in your panties fully clothed. Not even a button will be unbuttoned.”

She was unable to speak, hypnotized by his voice and words. He lifted her, crossed over to the bed and placed her gently in the middle. He joined her, covering her body with his.

“I love the way you feel underneath me. I want to fall asleep like this.”

“I love the way you feel on top of me and I wouldn’t mind.” She didn’t mean to say that out loud, but it just came out. Adam had a way of pulling out the most wanton feelings from her.

He began grinding his body into hers, almost pushing her into the mattress. But she didn’t care. The harder he grinded into her, the wetter she got and the closer to coming.

She reached into his hair, enjoying the feel of the silkiness. He kissed her hard the more he buried himself into her.

“Adam, this is taking too long. I want to come,” she heard herself pleading.

“You will, but patience.” He lifted himself up a bit and placed his hand on her breast. He massaged it for a few minutes underneath her thick sweater. Her nipples were so hard; she could see them poking through the thick cable knit.

“You like that I see. Let me do this one too.” He massaged her other breast through the sweater, then bent down and kissed her some more. “I love French kissing and since we’re in France, what better way to show our appreciation.”

Jeanette didn’t argue. They kissed and fondled each other for quite a while. Then like he promised, she felt herself reaching her climax. Her kisses became more frantic as he slowed down in his grinding. It was as if he wanted to savor the moment. He stopped his kissing and just dry fucked the hell out of her.

There was a loud clap of thunder and lightening lit up the room. Just then she screamed her release and his lips clapped down on hers. After a few moments of being in a violent lip lock, they both came up for air. Adam rolled on his back and brought her with him.

“That was nice,” Adam said, raining kissing on her face.

“That was amazing,” Jeanette countered.

“Glad you liked. I’m glad it did rain. I rather have you here in my arms all to myself, than out there sharing you with the world. I feel selfish at the moment.”

“Do you have those moments often?”

Adam thought a bit. No. He never felt this possessive of a woman before. But from the first day that they meet, the only word that came to his mind was,
mine.
Jeanette seemed determined not to make it easy for him, but he appreciated her moments of weakness. “I never had them.” And he meant it.

“I see.”

“I promise, this is all we’ll do today. I actually want to talk.”

“About us?”

“Us, work, life.”

“Like you said, today is the perfect day for that.” She stretched out over him. The feel of her body rubbing over his, got him hard again. But he wouldn’t act on it. He would suffer the rest of the day, anything to get to know Jeanette Foster better.

“Perfect indeed.”

***

Jeanette lost it again. She allowed herself to get swept up in the hurricane called Adam. It was so easy. He looked like he wanted to have sex twenty-four seven, even when talking about the purchase orders. He smelled nice and his body was just magnificent.

Maybe she could rethink her principles. After all, they were far from the home office. They were in Paris, the city of romance. Even if word got out here, the employees here seemed to be Team Adam/Jeanette anyway.

But she wasn’t going to tell Adam of her tentative decision—yet. She didn’t want to give him any more ammunition than she had to. Besides, she wanted to know the real Adam. The cerebral one that is.

“So, what made you get into IT?” Jeanette decided to break the ice and start the conversation off on a benign note.

Adam sat up a bit and pulled Jeanette closer to him, almost sitting her on his lap. “As oppose to what. Modeling?” He winked at her.

Conceited much!
“Well, let’s just say, I can’t see you with your head in engineering books.”

“Ahh. Well, you don’t need an engineering degree like the one you’re thinking. Computer technology is relatively easy to study for. If you like pushing buttons and have a natural curiosity, you can really get into it.”

“Hmm. Okay. So you like pushing buttons do you?”

“And I have a natural curiosity.” He bent down and kissed her.

“I see. How did you join the agency and how long have you been there?”

Jeanette wanted to get as much info on him as possible. She wanted to know as much as possible about this man and his past, especially at the firm. She did want to ask the employees back home, but at the same time she didn’t want to raise suspicion. If she started sniffing around, the women would know of her interest there, and the fur would fly; and she risked being pink slipped. So grilling him like fresh salmon was safer.

“I was actually recommended by my brother.”

Jeanette sat up straight. There was another one that looked like him. That’s right, he did mention a brother and two sisters. That was so unfair. All that fine-ness in one family. Or maybe Adam took all the looks. “Your brother, does he look as good as you?”

Adam cocked his head. “Yes, his name is Noah. And hands off. You got the original. But yes, women are sniffing at his doorstep.”

Yep. Unfair. “So, did he work at the firm?”

“Kinda, he was a contracted worker like yourself, but in a different capacity. He actually does freelance artwork.”

“Ahh. Left brain, right brain brothers.”

Adam chuckled. “Yeah, I guess you’re right. Anyway, he heard through the grapevine that there was an opening in the IT department, and he knew I fit the bill. So he put in a good word to Sam and she called me that day. I was hired by the end of the week.”

“It seems like they take no time in hiring people.”

“Nah. Sam is a great judge of character. That’s why she hired you so fast. Several people came through the door for that position, even some inside people from other offices. But Sam told everyone you were the one.”

Wow. Jeanette felt humbled by this revelation. She hoped she wouldn’t disappoint her and the firm. She really wanted to find the problem to this situation. It was getting out of hand.

“Anyway,” Adam continued. “I’ve been there for five years.”

“Question.” Jeanette saw Adam’s left brow go up.
