Note

This is a standalone short story and
is a part of the Owned By Her Alpha series of books. It contains a
happy ending.

Introduction

Again we have an odd
selection for you.
This series is slowly –
very slowly – growing and becoming large enough to sustain us
(Lunatic Ink Publishing) throwing together a more connected set of
stories. However, it is still hard to find a good match in terms of
theme and we are working hard to find more stories that fit with it
from Sophie's older work.

So, this time around we start off an
interesting sci-fi/fantasy piece. A young woman's journey from
freedom to slavery to something so much more profound in around
3000 words.

Following that up, there is a very short,
very odd little story about one man's fetish and the woman who
accommodates it for a heft sum in a sordid inner city sex club with
a sense of humor.

Finally, Minny's Big Day
Off finishes things up. This was something we recently re-published
in a little more tidy form. It's a good read and illustrates
that
Men Must Act...
or face the consequences.

We hope you will enjoy the material that
follows.

Thank you for reading,

The Thief And The Magistrate

The look in his eyes is one of compassion.
For the life of me I would have never expected to see that look in
the eyes of a man like him, but it is there and oddly it is as
alluring and intriguing as it is wrong and off-putting.

“Your name is Geno The Thief, is it
not?”

I bow my head and say nothingness. The
creatures that have me bound pull tightly on the cords that hold be
in place and I cry out. The magistrate's eyes harden as he stares
down at me from the high backed chair of what amounts to a throne
in the parts that he's in.

“You will speak, “ he states, “one way or
another;”

I grit my teeth and turn my eyes up to his.
Where there was compassion before there is frost now. The man's
face is hard as granite and, to me, also quite beautiful. The men I
have been exposed to are hard, true, but it takes a special kind of
hard to be a law man on a world where the law is the last thing on
most people's minds.

“Geno The Thief,” he states, “If you will
not stand to defend yourself then I will have to throw the full
weight of the punishments allowable by the laws at you. Your crimes
in this township are of a kind that have caused harm to law abiding
citizens...” He looks to the wealthy merchant and his daughter
standing in the corner of the town hall. I dared to steal from the
woman and now I'm here in front of this tall rugged man about to
receive what I think will be the death penalty. “...and you must be
punished.”

I straighten my back, firm my eyes and close
my mouth tightly. The beasts to my left and right tighten the bonds
even further, but I do not speak. It is not just me that relies on
my silence. I don't steal for myself. I steal for those that are in
need and if I were to tell my whole twisted story, I'm sure that
there would be a group of young children out there that would
suffer for my words. I will take death over that on my
conscience.

He stands quietly and brings up a hand. For
one moment I see in his eyes an understand, a knowledge of me that
at this point in time I do not understand, and then he gives me a
stare such as I can feel death stalking at my rear.

“You are to be made a slave,“ he says, “and
will be sold at auction in 2 days time.”

He sits.

“That is all.”

I am taken away. Death would have been more
kind. I glance once at him. I thought him a man of justice, but
apparently I was wrong. This man has bought hell down on me. If
only I knew that there was more to it than that.

Heaven and Hell: Two opposite sides of a
coin with a heck of a lot of metal in between. I'm about to learn
that the world has many ways to give us what we need. It will be a
hard lesson to learn.

*****

The day of my sale has come. Two dirty days
in a cell with a bunch of poverty stricken farmers who kept on
moaning and groaning about their fate as peasants under some lord
or another. I sat in the corner listening to them with a grim face.
I'm still young and somewhat attractive. Chances are what they will
experience in the short time that they have left on this planet
will be nothing compared to what I will.

The cage doors are flung open at noon and we
are dragged out into the sunlight. It's hot and the two suns above
boil down on us. I, being a person more used to traveling at night,
cover my face with one hand and squint. It's must be over 50 today.
It's going to be hot.

We are walked through the town to the large
square that occupies the very edge of it. This is where the slave
auctions are. Not all towns have them, but this area is well known
for it's slave trade and, of course, it has a fully stocked set of
cages today.

Buyers stroll about, mostly wealthy
individuals, and check the wares. I am thrown into a big cage in
the center of the square and try to find my way to the middle of
the pack. I already know that I will be sold today. A young woman
like me is a high prize. Most slaves are old or poor or unhealthy
and definitely not anything close to beautiful. They don't wind up
in the pleasure quarters of some far off planet like women like me
do. I'm a good buy and a steal from a slummy town like this.

Hours pass and I get hotter and hotter.
Water is distributed and a little food. We eat in silence and watch
as buyer after buyer inspects the cages. I cannot hide forever and
eventually a few point me out. One man in particular looks hard at
me. He is ugly by a factor of more than I can count and has a nose
that seems nearly bursting with boils from overexposure to the sun.
I can see in his eyes that he is not looking for farmer workers.
The glint that enters them when he notes me is positively
hideous.

Eventually I take the stage. Each slave is
bought up and bid on then disposed to either the cage for those
leaving or those who will return day after day until they are sold
or die. It takes no time at all for the bidding to get hot and
heavy when I am shown off.

“And do we have 50?”

A squat man with a hunch back but fine
clothes throws up his hand.

I look to him. I hope with all my heart that
I am not taken by this one. He is so ugly as to make me want to
puke. Slaves are often 'used' or 'tested' before being sent off to
wherever they are to work. I would not want to lie with that
one.

After a good 10 minutes of bidding it is a
close battle between the hunched one and the man with the ugly
nose. I stand there tenser than I have ever been in my life.
Tonight is going to be one of the worst evenings of my life by the
looks of things. I have done many bad things in my life, but I
think that the punishment that I will receive tonight will be worse
than death.

“100?” is asked by the auctioneer who by now
is looking quite tired with the endless back and forth of these two
men.

“100!” the man with the nose shouts.

There is silence. It is a high number and
probably too much for a woman of my appearance. This would be more
what one would expect of a noble taken slave, not a thief turned
slave like myself.

The hunchbacked man nods his head in defeat
and the sale is finalized. I am moved to the cage with the others
that are to leave and wait. In an hour or more the bidding will
probably be over. I was one of the last few to be sent to the great
stage at the end of the square. There will not be much time before
I am defiled.

When the ugly man comes, he has guards with
him. They are alien and I do not recognize their race. They wrap me
up quickly and carry me over one of their shoulders to a small
waiting cart. I am put in the back and the beast and driver that
they have start off at a slow pace down the road that leads out of
town. The man looks straight ahead throughout the journey and
doesn't bother to look at me. He is a cold one and I am afraid for
the first time that this might not end with me in some pleasure
quarter but in this man's house as a slave to his needs. No worse
fate could be imagined in my mind. I would rather die than lie with
this one for life. The thought alone horrifies me.

We come to a small house. It is a
construction of sand stone and metal. The surrounding pastures are
dry and untiled and there is nothing growing in the near dead
earth. I am taken to the door of the building and thrown inside.
The man with the bad nose looks down at me and for the first time
smiles

Strangely, he has all of his teeth.

“Your first customer will be here within the
hour, girl. Make sure you please him or I'll have you hung and
whipped.”

Just like that I have been made a whore. I
curse the day that I was ever caught by that evil magistrate. He
must have known what he was getting me into. Death would have been
more kind.

The door closes with a thud. Soon, within
the hour, it will begin. The hell that I fear is here.

*****

He enters and I slide to the wall. I thought
about fighting. I thought about taking my life. I even thought
about trying to escape, but in the end I stayed. A slave that runs
get what is coming their way. I know what the man who owns me will
do to me if I don't stay and it isn't pleasant.

The customer is tall, big and powerful
looking. He wears a silver mask they covers his features. It must
be off world, because there are no eye holes or mouth hole, but I
can hear him breathing. It's fast and tense and wild. There's do
doubt that he's going to fuck me in that breath. It's that
clear.

“Your first time?” he asks. The voice is
modified to not sound like whoever the owner of the mask is. I
guess that this is going to be a big part of my life in the future.
A lot of customers are going to want to keep their identity
hidden.

I say nothing. Why would I? This all ends
with me being fucked. I'm a whore now and conversation isn't what
I'm here for.

He bends down to where I am sitting against
the wall and reaches out a hand. It's calloused and has cuts on the
fingers that cross cross them in long odd swirling patterns. The
roughness of his skin on mine is surprising. I glance up. He's no
lord or rich man. If anything this man has used farm tools in the
past. That makes him quite the oddity. Someone who shouldn't be in
this situation but is.

That hand stays on my jaw. It is tender yet
purposeful. I get the feeling from his bearing – so straight and
relaxed regardless of the situation – that he's used to being in
control, to having his orders followed.

I glance downwards as he waits for my
answer.

“You don't have to tell me if you don't want
to. I've purchased you for the hour and no more. After that your
owner will come and take you wherever he plans to.”

There's silence. In the end I break it.

“Why me? “ I blurt out.

He tilts his head to the side and I swear
he's smiling, even though I can't tell.

“Because you are the most beautiful woman
that I've ever seen.”

I stare. No man has ever thought that highly
of me and with such sincerity in his voice. If he was conning me,
I'm sure I'd know. This man told me the truth just now and told it
with the certainty that I would understand that he was sincere.
Quite the oddity indeed.

My lips part as he leans in. Of course I
can't kiss him, but part of me wants to. Rare is it to meet a man
of such honesty in this day in and age. Everyone's a liar in this
world.
