"I said what are you going to do next...call me a nigger?" Jazzlyn said with fire in her eyes.

" That's what I thought your silly ass just said to me." Tyson said grabbing his keys and taking the key to her apartment off handing it to her." Give me my key." Tyson said walking through his place and picking up items he knew were hers.

Jazzlyn laid his key on the table and Tyson gave her a pile of anything that was hers he'd found. " If I have anything at your place of mine just throw it away. I don't want nothing out that muthafucka. Take my name out your phone. Don't call me for
shit

because I don't have a fuckin thing to say to you Jazzlyn, you hear me? You see me walking around here. Ignore me and I'll do the same. The day you get tired of bumping into me...move. " Tyson said opening up the door for her to leave.

" Get your fuckin ass out of my sight."

"Tyson..." Jazzlyn said immediately regretting what she'd said.

" I said don't say shit to me. You're weak. You're a weak ass woman, used to weak ass men and your family runs your life and you let them. Here I was thinking you just need to get used to a few thing but we could make this work."Tyson said laughing angrily." I know without a
doubt
now I could never be with you. I could kick my own ass for
ever
thinking there was anything special about you. Simple ass. Forget everything I said to you this morning. Leave."

Jazzlyn grabbed her things and walked down the hall to her apartment. Opened the door, walked in,shut the door and sat on the floor and cried.

The Love Chronicles

Volumes 5

*Part 2*

Life Goes On

" Girl we're making these dollars today aint we?" Deja' said stepping into the office where Trendi was sitting trying to grab a quick bite to eat between clients.

" I know! We're usually busy every Saturday but today is out of control. I think I may cal my girl Sherica's little sister Monica over here to shampoo clients and clean up and run behind the stylists today. I know her little teeny bopper ass wont mind making some money today. Matter of fact let me do that now so she can hurry on over." Trendi said picking up the phone to call Monica.

After talking to Monica and getting permission from her mother as well Monica was on her way over to help out.

"Trendi you seem to be doing better" Deja said

" Girl you know after we had that talk a few weeks ago I had to give myself a much needed pep talk. What real y helped me so much is I broke down and went to the rape counseling group that was suggested to me. I was hesitant at first because I was like what would they think about me sitting there surrounded by a bunch of "real" women you know? But just like my group leader and some of the members let me know, my sexual orientation has
nothing
to do with the rape. Rape is rape regardless of the gender it's committed against." Trendi said.

"Absolutely. I'm so happy you went Trendi! Please keep going because I can see a world of difference in you ."

" Oh baby don't get it twisted...my added confidence is also due to my gun lessons and staying my ass at the range practicing. Girl let me tell you, I have a shot like no bodies business! I refuse to
ever
let something like that ever happen to me again Deja'!"

" Girl I feel you on that one. I never pictured myself owning a gun or anything but I wonder if I should get me one?"

" You better get your ass something! Girls like us need to protect ourselves just as much as every other woman out here Deja'. I know we've talked about this so much before but Deja' you have to admit, a lot of men have been fooled by looking at you.

What if you meet someone who's violent ? I wouldn't wish what happened to me on my worst enemy. Are you prepared to defend yourself ?" Trendi asked finishing up her lunch and looking at the clock real fast." Let me get out here,Tamesha should be walking in any minute for her weekly ghetto diva hairstyle so let me get ready to oblige her." Trendi said laughing.

Trendi walked back into the shop area and customers and staff alike were talking and having a good time. Everyone one was sharing the latest gossip as usual.

Monica arrived at the shop excited to help out and make some extra money. Anytime Ms. Trendi asked her to come by the shop she was more than happy to help and make herself some spending money.

" Monica I've been so caught up with things lately I need to give Sherica a call to see what her pretty self is up to!" Trendi said.

"Call her Ms. Trendi , I think she has a boyfriend but she's not real y telling us too much about him. See if you can get the scoop on him Ms. Trendi ! " Monica said .

"What! Oh you know I'm already on it Ms. Thang! Shericas ass been on lock down so long if I didn't see little Isiah as proof I wouldn't think she'd ever gotten any at all!" Trendi said laughing.

" Now do this for me baby. Right now everyone is under control, so I want you to do a quick sweep of the shop and make sure the floor is looking good. Then of course I don't have to remind you to wash your hands between everything you do. Go into the kitchenette pull out the wine glasses and set them on the rol ing bar along with ice, and sodas. You know how we do over here! Give the clients something to sip on while they're getting their hair done." Trendi said firing off instructions to Monica.

" I'm right on it."

" I know you are Monica and I sure appreciate you coming through for your girl Trendi on such short notice. You already know imma hook your hair up and send you home with some money in your pocket before we close up tonight."Trendi said.

" Thank you Ms.Trendi! You already know I love working for you." Monica said making her way to the back to start her work for the day.

Jazzlyn walked into her parents house " Mommy. It's me." Jazzlyn said walking to the kitchen to see where everyone was." Do you know what that man has done now Jazzlyn? Your brother was served with court papers today! After attacking Rashad they way he did he has the nerve to have charged pressed on Rashad! We're getting a lawyer for your brother on Monday to fight these charges ." Jazzlyns mother said angrily.

Rashad, his girlfriend Tamika her father were also in the kitchen.

" It seems like since the day we were introduced to that man there's been nothing but trouble." Jazzlyns father said looking at Jazzlyn and getting up to leave the kitchen.

"Rashad baby let me help you to your room. You really should be getting your rest. It's the main reason I wanted you to stay over here for awhile so I could look after you"

Jazzlyns mother said looking pointedly at Tamika.

" Mommy where are the papers? It doesn't sound like something Tyson would do pressing charges and dragging this all out."

" Jazzlyn you don't know
what
kind of man that is...did you think he was a man that would violently attack your own brother?" her mother asked helping Rashad out of the chair.

Rashad seemed to be soaking up the attention.

Jazzlyn read the paperwork from the courts that was laying on the table." You know these papers don't say Tyson is pressing charges. The state picked up the charges. "

Jazzlyn said.

" I know girl. Look I'm going to go ahead and keep it real with you. You
do
know that whole situation was brought on by Rashad right? You and I don't really talk like that so I really don't too much know what the deal is with that fine ass white man that whipped Rashads ass that day, but I
told
Rashad to mind his own damn business!"

"So what exactly happened?"

" Wel it happened so fast. We pulled up in front of the cafe' and you know how there they have the tables and everything outside ? Well I guess Rashad saw him sitting at the table with whoever the woman was and just went off. When he mentioned your name I could only guess you had been dating him or something. Rashad was out of line. Calling him and the lady he was with al out of their names, loud talking him and all that mess. It was so childish and embarrassing!" Tamika said.

"This Tyson guy didn't even stand up to do anything until Rashad started cal ing the sista he was with all kinda bitches and ho's and tel ing her she was swinging from a white mans dick." Tamika said crossing her arms.

"
Your
brother" Tamika said " Deserved
all
that ass whupping he got and then some!

Look my girl Shannon is on her way to pick me up. Just tell Rashad not to even call me anymore OK? Hell he was taking me to get something to eat trying to talk me out of quitting his ass then he went and started that dumb shit...
and
got his ass beat in the process? How
you
gonna start some shit and then get
your
ass beat? I don't even know if I can look at him the same! Your mom is over here talking about I can be a witness for Rashad? Witness my ass. I'm not lying in court for no damn body. " Tamika said picking up her cell phone to read her incoming text.

" Besides your mom has never been nice to me before. Now she want me to be a witness to something? Ya mama can really miss me with that one. This my girl Shannon outside so I'm bout to leave. I will say this before I go,if you let that fine ass man go behind that ass whupping Rashad brought on and your family? You crazy as hell. I'll fuck the shit outta that white boy. Bye." Tamika said grabbing her purse and walking out to leave with her friend.

Jazzlyn had only met Tamika a handful of times but she'd always come across as very straight up. Her mother just cal ed Tamika ghetto and wanted Rashad to get rid of her. Jazzlyn shook her head thinking why is it I'm just discovering my families flaws?

No one was in the kitchen so Jazzlyn grabbed her bag and left headed home.

Jazzlyn walked into the building and and made it to the elevator just as it was about to close. Tyson was in the elevator dressed as if he'd just come from the gym.

Jazzlyn stepped inside the elevator and the door closed. Jazzlyn felt like she couldn't breath standing so close to him.

" Tyson. " Jazzlyn started to say but before she could get a word out they were on their floor and Tyson walked out. I don't care what he told me, we real y need to talk Jazzlyn thought to herself following behind him.

"Tyson I know you said you don't want to talk to me but do you really want to leave things this way between us? " Jazzlyn asked while Tyson was unlocking his door" Tyson please let's just talk about this." Jazzlyn said reaching out to touch his arm.

" Jazzlyn look, I told you I don't want anything to do with you. Leave the shit alone OK? Aint a damn thing changed between last Saturday til now. So what could you possibly have to say to me that you haven't already said? Shit you ran your mouth too goddamn much as it is." Tyson said angrily.

" Tyson I talked to Tamika the girl that was with Rashad that day and she told me exactly what happened."

Tyson looked at her with a bewildered look on his face " What the hel is that supposed to do? I wasn't looking for anyone to "verify" what happened. Or tell you I wasn't lying about what happened. I'm perfectly capable of doing that myself Jazzlyn. It comes down to this, you never even
asked
me what happened."

"Can I come in so we talk about this Tyson?" Jazzlyn asked her throat growing tight, trying not to break down crying.

" No. I don't want you to come in. I don't want to even look at you right now. We're way past any explanations. The shit you said to me I'll never forgive you for. Ever.

What's so fucked up about the whole thing is I love your ass. I'm in love with you .But to say the shit to me that you did ? You don't care anything about me."

" Tyson please." Jazzlyn said unable to hold her tears back any longer and completely breaking down in tears" I didn't mean that. I know you'd never say that."

Neighbors were walking by and looking at them curiously seeing Jazzlyn openly crying. Tyson pul ed her inside his apartment quickly. "Stop crying Jazzlyn, damn. For you to stand your ass right there and say you know I'd never say anything like that only makes it worse. What? You're just resorting to saying any and everything to hurt me now? " Tyson said walking into his living room.

" Jazzlyn say what you need to say so you can leave. I'm not the man for you and you damn sure aint the woman for me." Tyson said sighing" Let's just leave it at that."

" We are good together Tyson, why are you acting like you can't forgive me? When people are upset they say things to each other they don't mean." Jazzlyn said pleading with him." I'm trying to apologize to you and I'll do anything to make it right."

" That's just it right there Jazzlyn. You're always goddamn sorry and apologizing for some shit you did. I'm sick of it. You're standing here talking about people saying things they don't mean when they're mad.... baby people speak the
truth
when they're mad. I don't know if I could ever forgive you for saying some foul shit like that to me Jazzlyn and the reality of the situation is this...why the fuck should I? You just eluded that the black people I love more than anything in this world, the people I owe my life to...that if I got mad at them I would say some shit like that to my family? To you? Jazzlyn right now I can barely stand the sight of you. This week " Tyson said looking at her like he wanted to cry himself " Has been fucked up for me behind this shit with you. I love you. I miss being around you, your laugh, your smile and I miss your touch but I'll deal with it and move on.It's one thing after another with you Jazzlyn."

"Baby you said last week you could see us together and married ...me being the mother of your kids. Why are you willing to give up on me so fast? Please don't do this Tyson."

"No Jazzlyn. I think me loving you was clouding my judgment on some things I should have never overlooked. You worry about what other people think. Even your family. You would be perfectly happy if I sat around kissing their asses to make them happy and that wasn't ever going to happen. Just leave Jazzlyn,I can't keep doing this with you, I can't."

" I love you Tyson." Jazzlyn said walking out the door. Jazzlyn walked up the hall to her apartment and walked into her living room and sat down thinking about the conversation they'd just had.
