“Would you drive my car to the hospital?” Hallock asked Mr. Bills, tossing him the keys to his town car. “I want to ride with my wife, but I’ll need to get home later.”
“We’ll stop and tell Elsa what’s happening,” Emily Devlin said.
Hallock nodded his thanks. Then he and Dr. Sam helped Debora into the front seat of the Contour. Hallock and Kathryn climbed into the back. They were met at the foot of the inn drive by a police car, for Dr. Sam had alerted the local police that they would need an escort. He and Rina came behind Tim’s car while the rest of the guests went home. Mavis knew that Kathryn would call her when there was news.
“I’m glad I’m not carrying twins,” Ashley Mulcahy said, touching her belly. “Just a nice quiet little girl.” Then she remembered. “Sorry, Em.”
Emily Devlin nodded. “Forgiven. I’m hoping for girls too,” she said.
“You don’t know yet?”
“You know my husband. He likes doing things the old-fashioned way,” Emily said. “We’ll know when I push the little darlings out, and not a moment before then.”
“After the first I wanted to know right away,” Ashley admitted. “Night, Em.”
“Night, Ashley.”
The moon had come up over the bay, sparkling on the snow, lighting up the dark shore road. Tim drove carefully, very conscious of his new sister-in-law making funny little noises in the passenger seat. Hallock, seated behind her, kept talking as they drove.
“Breathe into the pain, my dear. That’s it. We’re almost there,” he said.
“We damned well better be,” Debora said, her Devon-shire accent plain now.
“Hang on, Debora,” Kathryn spoke up. “St. Johns don’t get born in cars.”
Debora snorted a laugh. “Then tell your husband to drive faster,” she said.
The entrance to the hospital came into sight. Tim swung up the drive heading straight to the emergency entrance as Dr. Sam had instructed him when he went for his car. A group of nurses, male and female, was waiting. They helped the laboring woman onto a gurney and rushed her into the hospital, Hallock and Dr. Sam following quickly.
“Where’s Lindeman?” Dr. Sam wanted to know.
“He’s away this weekend,” one of the nurses said, “and Dr. Wheeler, who was covering for him, came down with the flu.”
“Then who the hell is on call?” Dr. Sam demanded. He was the small hospital’s chief of staff, and highly respected.
“When was the last time you delivered a baby, Dr. Sam?” the nurse who had earlier spoken asked.
“Shit!” Dr. Sam swore. “All right, get Mrs. St. John into a delivery room. Find me a resident or intern who knows what he’s doing, and let’s go. There is no time left.” He turned to Rina, Tim, and Kathryn. “Waiting room. I’ll let you know.”
“Oh my.” Rina Seligmann chuckled. “He’s having the time of his life. He always loved deliveries. And twins! He’ll be in his glory. Back when he started as a G.P., did everything, but now everyone has to have a specialist. Listen, if you two want to go home I’ll wait for Sam.”
“No, we’re here so I expect we’ll wait,” Kathryn said. “Tim?”
“We’ll wait,” he agreed. “It’s kind of exciting. I’m here for the birth of my nephews.” He put an arm about Kathryn.
“Where is home?” Rina inquired, curious.
They both laughed. “We haven’t decided yet,” Kathryn said. “Tim has an option to buy the Torkelson house, and I love my cottage.”
“We’ll work it out eventually,” Tim told Rina. “And that will give Egret Pointe something to gossip about, won’t it?”
Rina chuckled. “It will indeed. “You two going to have a honeymoon?”
“We haven’t thought about it,” Tim admitted. “I suppose during midwinter break we could go off somewhere warm, or go skiing up north.”
“Seems to me there’s a lot you haven’t discussed yet,” Rina said dryly.
“But, Rina, we love each other. Isn’t that enough?” Kathryn replied.
Rina Seligmann laughed. “Actually it is,” she agreed. “The rest will all fall into place eventually, Kathy.”
“Where’s my brother gotten to?” Kathryn wondered aloud.
“Oh, he’s in with Debora,” Rina told her. “He’s always there for the birth of his children. Didn’t you know that? It was the talk of the hospital the first time it happened. No one could believe that Hallock St. John the Fifth was in the delivery room coaching his wife as she gave birth.”
“I never knew that!” Kathryn exclaimed.
They waited. An hour slipped by and suddenly the doors to the maternity waiting room swung open. Hallock St. John, grinning from ear to ear, stepped into the waiting room. In his arms were three swaddled infants. “Triplets!” he said. “Three identical boys. She had triplets!”
Kathryn burst out laughing. “Really, Hallock, don’t you think that triplets are a bit excessive?” she teased him. Standing, she went over and looked down at the three tiny faces. “What are you going to call them?” she asked him.
“Evan, Maxwell and Jacob,” Hallock replied. “Aren’t they beautiful, sister?” His eyes were actually shining with tears.
Kathryn put a hand on her brother’s arm. “Yes, Hallock,” she said. “They are very beautiful. God bless them!”
Tim now stood next to his bride, admiring the trio.
Dr. Sam came into the waiting room. “Take those boys back to the nursery, Hallock, and go see your wife,” he instructed.
“I thought she was having twins,” Rina said to her husband.
“That’s what the sonogram showed, but the third one was behind the other two. Until she went into labor, we didn’t know. Hah! Lindeman and Wheeler are going to be sorry they missed this.” He chortled. “And considering they were a mite early, their weights are good. Five pounds eight ounces, six, and six pounds one ounce. Their lungs are well developed. They’ll survive quite nicely,” Dr. Sam said. “You want to go see Debora before she goes to sleep?”
“Yes,” Kathryn said.
They went to the pretty hospital room where Debora was now lying in bed.
The room was painted yellow with a mid-wall border of multicolored spring flowers. The furniture was cherry-wood, and the lamps green and white with light shades. There was a down comforter on the bed.
Kathryn went over and kissed her sister-in-law. “Congratulations! Is eight enough? You’ve assured that Egret Pointe will have its contingent of St. Johns for at least another generation. Maybe even into the next century.”
“Sure fooled you all,” Debora joked. She looked happy, but tired. “And I didn’t steal your wedding day. I popped them out at three minutes after midnight, eight minutes after midnight, and ten minutes after midnight.”
“Still,” Tim told her, “we’re not likely to forget.”
Debora grinned.
“We’re going to go,” Kathryn said. “It’s been a long day for everyone.” She and Tim left the maternity wing of the hospital, finding their way to their car, which was parked in the ER parking lot. “Where to, my lord?” she asked him. “Your place or mine?”
“Let’s spend the night at the Wood’s End Way house,” he said. “Rowdy will need to be let out before we can have any peace together, love.”
“You want peace on our wedding night?” she teased him.
“Woman, you are in such trouble with me,” he said. “Didn’t you just promise to love, honor and obey me this afternoon?”
“No, darling, you weren’t listening. I promised to love, honor and
cherish
you,” Kathryn said mischievously.
He chortled, and drove them home. Rowdy greeted them enthusiastically, and then dashed out into the snowy backyard for a few minutes before coming in to be fed.
“We never brought any of my clothes over here,” Kathryn said.
“You won’t need clothing tonight,” he told her. “I’ll get what you want tomorrow. And I’ll make you some space in the closet. We did this so quickly. I should move some stuff into the cottage too, because until we make up our collective mind what to do we’re obviously going to be living in two different domiciles.”
“Not really very practical,” Kathryn admitted as they entered the bedroom.
“I’ll do whatever you want, love,” he told her. “I like this house, but I’m not invested in it yet.”
“The cottage is small,” Kathryn said slowly. “It was never meant for two people.” She sighed. “Maybe we should look for something that we both love.”
“There’s time,” Tim said quietly. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her slowly. “I love you, Mrs. Blair,” he told her. Then turning her around he began to unbutton the little pearl buttons on her tunic.
Kathryn kicked off her low-heeled pumps, and slipped out of her trousers as he removed the soft wool tunic. His eyes widened, and she laughed.
“Holy cow!” Tim said. “Naughty underwear!”
“It’s called a corselette. The rosettes are edible,” Kathryn told him.
“You’re kidding!” His blue eyes were alight with amusement.
“Nope,” she said. “Try one, darling.”
He bent his head and his mouth closed over her left nipple. The pink and white rosette dissolved in his mouth. “Kathy, my Kathy,” he said slowly as he raised his head.
“Do not move,” he said as he hurried to pull off his clothes. Naked, he bent to devour the rosette on the right nipple. Then he began to work down her torso, nipping off each delicate sugar flower as he went.
“The crotch is edible too,” she told him as he moved lower and lower. She spread her legs for him.
He slipped beneath her to eat the soft fabric away until it was gone, and his tongue was pushing past her nether lips to lick her. “You are a very bad girl,” he told her as she began to squirm beneath his facile tongue. “But I want a little attention too, love.” He stood up. “Your turn, Kathy,” he told her.
Kathryn unhooked the corselette, tossed it aside, and went down on her knees. He was only half-aroused. “Bad boy!” she scolded, taking him in her hand and moving his foreskin back and forth. “Open wide for your mistress now,” she said, and sliding beneath him began to lick his balls, taking them in her mouth, and rolling his pouch about until he was groaning. Releasing him she knelt before him, and took his dick into her mouth, running the tip of her tongue around the head of it as she held the foreskin back.
Then she began to suck upon him, slowly, slowly, slowly, awakening his sex gently, but completely and fully. His hand rested atop her head, the fingers kneading it as she worked her magic.
“Enough,” he finally groaned. He was fully aroused. So much so that she was near to gagging as the tip of his penis pressed against the back of her throat. He drew her up, pushed her back upon the edge of the bed and pulled her legs all the way out to rest against his shoulders as he thrust into her wet hot sheath as deeply as he could go.
“Oh God!” she moaned as she felt him fill her up. It was pure heaven. He was so thick and so damned long, and it was wonderful. “Fuck me, darling,” she begged him.
“In a moment, love,” he promised. “I just love feeling myself inside of you, Kathy. You are so deliciously tight, and, ahhh, when you squeeze me like that it is so incredible. It seems to me it gets better every time with us.”
“Uh-huh,” she agreed. “Oh God, Tim, do it to me! I’m going to die from wanting you so damned much. Fuck me! Fuck me!”
He began to move on her. Slowly at first, then with deep, hard strokes of his cock, then quickly, quickly, quickly, until she was dizzy with the pleasure coursing through every inch of her body. Even the soles of her feet were tingling. Then he slowed his pace again, and she protested, reaching out to claw at him, but he was standing. She was unable to reach him. “Okay, love,” he said, seeing her distress. “I can do this again later, so let’s fly.” His tempo increased once again.
She was flying. Every stroke of his penis sent a thrill through her. She couldn’t keep a thought in her head. There was only the heavenly sensation of being fucked. When he found her G-spot she shrieked, and within moments climaxed, bathing the head of his prick with her juices, feeling his juices spurting, spurting into her, and reveling in the perfect moment of union as they were joined not just in body, but soul.
And then it was over. He climbed onto the bed before he collapsed, pulling her into his arms, holding her tightly. “You are one helluva fuck, Mrs. Blair,” he told her, kissing the top of her head. The French twist had come loose, scattering hairpins and her luxurious hair all over the pillows.
“You too, Mr. Blair,” she said happily.
They slept after that until just before dawn, when she awakened to find his engorged cock nestled between the cheeks of her ass as she lay on her side. Aware she was awake he began to play with her round breasts, pinching the nipples and pulling them out as he rubbed his penis within the confinement of her tight butt cheeks. “This feels so good,” he told her. Then one of his hands reached out to push between her nether lips and play with her clitoris, until they were both squirming excitedly as she came on his hand, and he came between her buttocks.
“I never realized you could do something like that,” she said.
“Lots of fun things we can do,” Tim promised, “and we have a lifetime in which to do them, love.” He kissed the nape of her neck softly. “I love you, Kathy, and if anyone had told me a year ago how happy I would be today I wouldn’t have believed them. You’ve become my world. You and Egret Pointe.”
Kathryn cried happily in his arms. If someone had told her a year ago what was going to happen, she would have laughed too. She had The Channel and the library. She didn’t need love or a whole lot of reality in her life. But she did. Everyone needed someone to love, be it a husband, a lover, a child. “I’m so happy, Tim,” she told him. “I never thought I would find love again, but I love you more than I could have ever loved anyone else, darling.” She sniffled against his shoulder.
Kathryn had never thought to be so happy. At Christmas they entertained her brother and his large family. Debora had spent a little extra time in the hospital getting her tubes tied. Eight children were more than enough, and it was obvious to Kathryn that not only had she inherited the Kimborough libido, but her brother had too. She often wondered if he still paid weekly visits to the town dominatrix, but what if he did? He loved his wife, was a good husband and father. His sin was no worse than all the women in town playing in The Channel.
