“Cami,” he whispered breathlessly, as turned on as she was.

He guided her to a white padded chaise in front of a marble fireplace, and in the flickering light he began to undress them. Every touch, every motion, was nearly more than she could stand. The fire between them was simmering hot, ready to explode.

First his shoes and slacks came off, then her sweater. All Cami wanted was to bare herself to him, and see him at his most vulnerable. With her warm sweater off, she stood before him in a cream-colored bra, warmth from the gas fire seeping into the skin of her back.

When he raked his fingers over her bare skin, Cami shuddered with pleasure. Wetness seeped into her panties and she craved his body, every inch of it. “Bradan…Bradan.”

He cupped her breasts, each one fitting into a palm of his hand, and looked at her with longing. “I’ve wanted to see your bare breasts for so long,” he said in a deep voice. Undoing the back, he removed her bra and let it slip off.

He drank in the sight of her, and Cami felt her distended nipples stiffen. His gaze touched her, arousing her. For a moment, he didn’t move, just looked, heightening her pleasure. “I want to kiss them,” he said. “Your breasts are so beautiful.”

Leaning down, Bradan suckled, first at one nipple then the other. Cami whimpered, unable to contain the ecstasy he elicited. “Ah…ah,” she panted.

He nibbled and licked, savoring her like a long-sought-after treat. Cami had never felt so special, so cared for. Arching her back, she offered her breasts for him to do as he would. As he massaged them with his hands and bit at her nipples, she thought she might come right then.

Leaning back, he said, “I want to see you naked.” Without rushing, enjoying each step of the process, Bradan removed the rest of her clothes, then his own. In the warmth of the room, she stood with him, their desire never more evident. “God, Cami. You look amazing.”

She reached out to touch his lips, wondering at his admiration. Never had she felt more beautiful or more desired. His erection was hard, standing high in front of his lean abdomen, and her clit tensed. The knowledge that she could touch him, that she could have him as intimately as any woman ever had, propelled her to a higher level of excitement.

He stood still, letting her fist his hot cock. The velvet skin over the steel of his desire felt so sensual. Rounding her palm over the thick head, she heard his heavy moan. Knowing his need made it all the more insanely sexy. Cupping his balls, she rolled them in one hand, stroking him with her other. Moisture seeped out the opening at the top, and Bradan grabbed her wrists.

Lifting her arms, he kissed the palm of her hand and then ran his tongue along the tender skin of her forearm. She thought she’d die. It felt better than she could have imagined, and she wondered how he knew her body so well. He did the same to her other hand, going slowly, enjoying his task.

Cami shuddered with pleasure and felt the moisture inside her seep out, wetting her sex. All the way to her toes, she felt light and flushed. Bradan wrapped his arms around her, pressing her to him. Reaching behind to cup her ass in his hands, he squeezed possessively. She pressed against his shaft, wanting to be closer.

With her in his arms, Bradan sat on the chaise and leaned back. It was slanted, allowing for a reclining position. Resting on top of him, Cami felt good. Her breasts pressed against his chest and she could feel his light hair graze her.

“Turn around,” he whispered. And Cami turned so her back rested against his chest with both their legs stretched out on the lounge.

Bradan caressed her breasts and kissed the top of her head. “I want to make you feel good,” he whispered. He pressed her legs apart until her feet hung over the edge of the long chair.

There in the intimate room in front of the purple-orange fire, Cami spread her legs for him. Her feet touched the thick carpet under the chair, and the heat of his cock burned against her spine. The ambient air wafted against her wet pussy, and she whimpered, knowing even before he touched her that she was very close.

With the back of her head against his chest and his arm around her waist, Cami draped her legs open with her feet dangled. Spread wide, she was all his, and willingly so. Gently, Bradan stroked her wet slit, arousing her even more.

Cami licked her lips and half closed her eyes. It felt so good, beyond description. Bradan flicked over her needy clit, and she panted faster to keep up. With his fingers, he pulled back the thin layer of skin protecting her most sensitive spot. She gasped.

Holding her open with one hand, Bradan fingered her with his other. With expert motions, he swirled around her clit, teasing but very close. Cami moaned and panted louder. Relentlessly, he ministered to her, touching just right. He flicked and teased until her clit burned.

“Please. Please, Bradan,” she gasped.

“Yes, baby. Give it to me. I want your pleasure. I want all of it.” The sound of his voice, the compelling meaning of his words, pushed her into climax. With his finger tapping on her clit, her legs spread wide, and her head pressed against his rock-hard chest, Cami spiraled into an explosive orgasm.

It started inside her. Her breasts felt heavy and her loins flooded with warmth. Deep in her core, her muscles clenched and then a wave of pleasure washed through her. Her sex tightened over and over, and she screamed long and hard, giving in to the force.

Bradan held her tight, backing off from her most sensitive area but using his hand to cup her sex. He rubbed, guiding her through her orgasm and moving until she relaxed. Even then he moved his hand back and forth over her sex, allowing her every second of sensation.

When she could move, Cami pulled her knees up with her feet on the chaise beside Bradan’s legs. He felt so hot under her, and his cock felt so hard. Whatever release she’d had, it had been no blight on her desire for him. If anything, she wanted him more than ever. Turning to straddle him, she lowered her mouth over his, tasting him.

His breathing was ragged, his eyes glassy with desire. Cami kissed his mouth again then tugged at his bottom lip with her teeth. “I want you,” she said. “I still want you.”

Bradan reached to the floor for his pants and pulled out a tiny packet. Deftly, he ripped it open and rolled on a condom. Cami grasped his rigid cock and lifting, up on her knees, dipped the tip inside her.

She groaned, drowned out by Bradan’s louder moan. His panting came in faster gasps, and she lowered herself over him slowly, feeling the stretch. As his thickness filled her up, Cami began to whimper. All she wanted was to have him buried in her.

Letting her body go down over him, Cami whimpered non-stop. Bradan rocked his hips, plunging into her over and over. And Cami matched his motion with her own. A sheen covered their skin, the warmth engulfing their bodies.

He was so big, and she pushed, ramming him into her as deep as he would go. Then he moaned loud and long, a painful anguish, before he pulsed. The feeling was so erotic it sent Cami into a powerful orgasm, clashing into him as he released.

They fucked hard and continued to stroke, even after the orgasms had subsided. Neither wanted it to end. Both wanted more. Neither could get enough. Cami’s skin glowed and her body tingled. She could smell Bradan’s post-sex scent, and she closed her eyes with pleasure.

It was the best night of her life; the best night ever. There was no thought of what came before or what came after. Only then. And right then, Cami felt insanely good, like she was a part of Bradan. It was as if their souls had risen together into a state of intimacy that could not be described.

But it was all consuming and fueled a need that could not be satisfied. Cami could not get enough of Bradan, and knew she would never be able to. Her hunger for him had no boundary and could not be controlled or contained. If he was bad for her, she’d go up in flames. Because she couldn’t turn away from him.

Chapter 10

Consciousness crept in slowly, and Cami remembered she’d spent the night with Bradan. Happiness flooded her. It had been good. Reaching across the bed, she felt only smooth sheets. He must have gotten up earlier.

Bunching the covers up and nestling into the warmth of the bed they’d shared, Cami stole a few quiet moments. After making love, they’d been hungry but Bradan hadn’t had anything in the fridge. He took her out for Chinese food and they’d talked about his career.

He was going to find his own apartment in Belltown. He liked the neighborhood and it was close to businesses. Cami got him talking about work, interested in what he did, and Bradan filled her in on his plans. He had big goals, and she admired that. Though she knew little about the type of programming he did, Cami was sure he was good at it.

They managed to avoid any sensitive subjects, and Bradan hadn’t talked any more about his first love, Amber. She imagined he felt more than he let on. He must. Finding out that his girlfriend was sleeping with another guy must have been a bitch.

The conversation went back to her family, and she explained that her mother, Carolyn, lived with her older sister now. Cami had been relieved her mother wasn’t forced by circumstances to live alone. Her aunt, Anna Iverson, had been like a second mother.

Anna was married and had a daughter, Nina, who was the same age as Cami. Growing up, the girls were like sisters. But as adults, things had changed. Now Nina was in college in California, and though they stayed in touch, it wasn’t the same. Cami missed her.

All the time she talked about home and her family, Cami felt the void. She was homesick much of the time, but everything was so different. With her father gone, Nina away, and the winery in the hands of new owners, home wasn’t what it used to be.

Still she had fond memories, some sad or even traumatic, but Bradan had seemed interested in it all. Interested in
her
. Cami really felt like she was getting to know him. He’d been like a regular, if sexy, guy. The person she’d thought he was when they’d had dinner and talked that first time.

He had two sides to him, she decided. There was the messed-up part and the good-person part. She couldn’t see him as a nice guy, but he exhibited sincerity sometimes. Cami hoped more of that side of him would come forth.

There had been no noise coming from the other rooms and, opening her eyes, Cami saw no sign of Bradan. The blinds were lowered and the room was dark. She slid out of bed and went to the bathroom to get presentable, if that were possible.

She really should have stopped at her apartment for some things, but the evening hadn’t been conducive to that. Even in the coffee shop, they’d been pressed close, anxious to go to the penthouse. The first interlude had barely taken the edge off their desire. Judging by what followed later that evening, it had only whetted their appetite.

Just the thought of seeing Bradan’s chiseled body completely unclothed made Cami’s clit hard. His muscles had rippled and flexed in the dim light. When he touched her, Cami melted, loving his strength, his hugeness. When he’d turned away, she’d admired the vee of his back and the strong cords of muscle. Between his shoulder blades, just below the base of his neck, she had seen a tattoo. It was a knot wrapped around the word
dangerous
.

Later, when they snuggled under the sheets, she’d asked about it. Bradan had explained he’d gotten the tattoo in high school along with his brother and two buddies. It signified their unity, and had been a warning to any that threatened them. He said they had fought, using street-fighting techniques they’d learned and perfected. But only when there had been no other way.

Cami replayed the passion they’d experienced with each other just hours before. She had to wonder if it was like that with all his women. Bradan was an experienced lover; that was one thing she could tell. But was the craving for her special or just evidence of his abundant sex drive?

Her heart wanted to believe the former, but it would have been easy to convince her that it was his lust for women that she’d basked in the night before. Her own issues were possibly clouding her judgment, not allowing her to accept his attention with open arms.

Having tended to her grooming as best she could, Cami opened the bathroom door. Still no noise. After finding her way back to the main room, she looked around. It was eerily quiet. The wall of windows drew her, and she went over to take in the view. A rare stream of sun pierced the cloudbank, illuminating the bay with its brilliance.

She wanted to go out to the terrace, but the sun didn’t fool her. She’d lived in the city long enough to know how cold it really was outside. Spotting her clothes draped over the chaise, she went over. The fireplace was still, no cozy flame or heat.

Cami dressed and put on her shoes, thinking Bradan might have gone out for food. There was nothing in the kitchen; she already knew that. The kitchen was spotless except for their two wine glasses and the empty bottle. Next to the bottle was a piece of paper, and she saw it was a note.

The scrawl was masculine with a big, bold sweep to the letters. She read it then read it again. There wasn’t much to it, yet she resisted taking it at face value. Then her heart fell. It must be what he meant. It was all he could have meant.

I had a good time last night. Sorry I don’t have any breakfast for you. I had to get to the gym before work. No commitment, right? See you, Bradan

No commitment
. That was what they’d agreed. Cami had taunted him with her certainty that he couldn’t get to her. There was no way she would fall for him. And despite the amazing sex, neither had said anything different. There were no vows of love or mentions of the future.

It had been a memorable night, one of the best nights of Cami’s life. The note was like a slap in the face. The message handed her flippancy right back to her. “
You can’t get to me, like you do with every other woman. I won’t fall for you
.” She’d said it. Then expected something more.

He’d only done what she claimed to want. But it didn’t mute the heartache. She’d lied. Even before he’d touched her, Cami had fallen for him hard. Sure, she wished that weren’t true, and knew it wasn’t the best thing.
