“More,” he
urged.

He tried to wrench his arms out of his sleeves and realized he’d
forgotten
to unbutton it at the
cuffs.

Fuck
it.

He finally pulled his hands free. The buttons either came off
or he tore the shirt.
He
didn’t much care which as he tossed it
aside.

His
heart
slammed
against
his
ribs
at
the
look
in
her
eyes
as
she
checked
out
his
chest, her gaze skimmed down over his abs and locked onto his hands as he made
quick
work of the belt, jerking at his fly, struggling to get his fingers to
work. When she
licked her lips as he
took down his pants, he could’ve come right then and
there.

I’m
not going to last any time at
all.

The
realization
slammed
into
him.
Rex
grabbed
a
rubber
from
where
he’d
stashed them earlier in the bedside
table.

“I
need to do this now,” he bit
out.

She
watched
wide-eyed
as
he
tore
open
the
packet
and
rolled
it
down
his
length.
Her
lips
parted
and
the
pulse
at
the
bottom
of
her
throat
throbbed
as
he
hissed
at
his own touch. Never had he
been so hard, so sensitive and so much at the edge of
his control.
He
wanted
her
with
a
force
that
was
primitive
and
staggering
in
its
intensity and completely removed from
anything he’d ever experienced
before.

Once
he
touched
her,
he
knew
he
was
likely
to
forget
everything
and
anything, even
his own fucking
name.

Lanie
tried
not
to
stare
at
it
,
at
him,
but
it
was
useless.
He
was
thick
and
hard
and
the stinging ache between her legs burned at the thought of taking him inside
her.
The
sight of him touching himself sent a scorching heat through her
body that sucked all
the breath from
her.

“I
need to taste you again,” he
warned.

Oh
God.

Her heart slammed hard in her chest and the jolt in her
stomach arrowed
down between
her
legs
in
a
hot,
wet
rush.
He
was
lean
and
powerfully
built,
all
sinew
and muscle
encased
in
sleek
skin—broad
shoulders,
flat
stomach
and
muscled
thighs
and between them… She knew
,
she just knew he’d
be beautiful, beautiful and thick, and
she
wanted
to
be
stretched
out
beneath
him,
at
the
mercy
of
that
big
body
more
than
anything.

“Rex,
please…”

He moved onto the bed and slid down her body, licking and
kissing a
scorching path
straight
down
to
the
sensitive
flesh
between
her
legs.
Before
she
had
a
chance
to
catch
her
breath
he’d
lifted
her
legs,
anchored
them
over
his
shoulders
and
put
his
mouth
on her again and the world as she knew it exploded with
sensation.

He
licked
and
kissed
and
sucked
on
her,
changing
his
rhythm,
his
tempo,
so
that
she
was
balanced
on
a
knife
edge
of
pained
pleasure,
her
body
shuddering,
without respite, struggling to find
relief.

“Please,”
she
panted,
her
breath
coming
in
loud
rasps.
She
wasn’t
sure
how
much
more
she could take.
“Now.
Please.”

She
grabbed
at
him,
tried
to
urge
him
up
and
onto
her
but
he
wasn’t
moving,
not unless he wanted to, his wicked tongue
continuing to lash at
her.

“Rex,
please. What’s taking you so
long?”

His hand tightened on her hip. “It’s called foreplay,” he
growled against her.
“You should try
it some
time.”

She was ready, more than ready,
more
ready than she’d ever been.
Ignoring
the hard edge to his voice, her hands fisted in his hair.

Enough,
” she cried.
“Please.”

His body tensed against hers but he gave her a final lick and
made his way back
up her body. She
couldn’t stop shaking as he used a rough hand on her hip to turn her
onto her
side
until
they
were
lying
facing
each
other.
Her
stomach
jolted
when
he
lifted
her leg
and
placed
it
high
on
his
hip.
The
sensation
of
his
hair-roughened
leg
against
her sensitive skin made her
gasp.

She
swallowed,
her
fingers
clenching
on
his
hard
biceps
when
he
gripped
himself and eased against her
opening.

“Damn,”
he
ground
out
as
he
traced
up
and
down
her
slit
with
his
thick
length, spreading her moisture, coating
himself in
it.

He
wedged
himself
against
her
and
stopped.
His
gaze
lifted
to
hers,
watching
her carefully as he pushed into her. He shuddered. “I’ll get more
creative.
Next
time.”

Lanie
held her breath and dug her
nails into his shoulder as his body stretched
her, full
and
hot,
and
the
sensations
centered
between
her
legs
rippled
out
and
spread
to
every part of her body. He groaned as he rocked his cock against and into her,
slow,
but with
shallow,
forceful
thrusts.
She
clenched
around
him
and
he
grunted,
the
sound
wild, his gray eyes almost feral as they
blazed into
hers.

“Rex,”
she
whimpered.

“Yeah.
I
know.”

“How
can
it—”

“Don’t
know.”

“I—”

“Are you done talking?” he hissed. “Because I’m not sure I
have enough blood
flow
to my brain to follow along right
now.”

He eased out, almost all the way and then back in. But his
movements into her
body were still
shallow, the thick, ridged head of his cock rocking back and forth, in and
out of her, the only part of him inside
her.

“Rex,” she moaned. She wanted him deep and hard, all the way
in, wanted it with
a desperation that
should have shocked
her.

His
chest
heaved
with
his
heavy
breaths.
His
eyes
went
dark,
the
skin
of
his
face
drawn tight as he eased one hand between
them to stroke her clit with his
fingertips.

She
jerked
at
the
contact,
tried
to
draw
a
deep
breath.
She
was
on
fire,
burning, stinging with need, the dual
sensations of his heavy body just inside hers and the
mind-destroying pressure against her clit was almost more than
she could stand. And he
was looking
at her, watching her, his gaze locked to
hers.

She closed her eyes and laid her forehead against the hot
skin of his chest. The
look
in his eyes was too intense, too
searching, too intimate, stripping her bare of
any defenses.

“Come for me,
Lanie
,” he groaned
against her. “I can’t— I can’t hold back
much
longer.”

He pinched her clit with gentle pressure and she was gone,
exploding in a surge
of pleasure so
intense it was almost
painful.

Yes.

She
cried
out
as
he
slammed
his
body
into
hers,
all
the
way
in,
in
one
powerful thrust, forcing her onto her back
as he began to pound into
her.

Once.

Fuck,

he
snarled.

Twice
and
a
third
time
before
he
froze
and
then
jerked
against
her
in
a
series
of frenzied movements, deep groans
rumbling from his massive chest, his breathing
harsh at her
ear.

She held onto his muscled shoulders, awash in a pleasure that
went on and on
until she wasn’t sure
if she was coming or not, so intense were the waves of
sensation rocketing
through
every
part
of
her.
She
struggled
to
draw
air
into
her
lungs,
her heartbeat
galloping
out
of
control
as
she
curled
a
hand
into
the
hair
at
the
back
of
his head,
holding
him
to
her.
His
chest
still
heaved
against
her,
his
hot
skin
damp
with
sweat, his body lodged firmly inside
her.

Lanie
had had lovers—not many—but
they’d been full-blown, sexual
relationships,
some
more
fulfilling
than
others.
And
she’d
been
married
for
God’s
sake,
but
she’d never had an orgasm like that.
Never.
Ever.
Nowhere
near
it.

She still tingled and burned, the sensations chasing across
her skin, the
flesh between
her
legs
and
the
nub
of
nerves
of
her
clitoris
still
alive
with
a
pleasure
she’d only fantasized about. And she was wet. Very, very
wet.

“I
don’t need lube,” she
managed.

“Not
even close,” he ground out, raising his head to look down at
her.

Dark strands of damp hair stuck to his broad forehead, his
eyes glittered. She could see
every
eyelash,
the
darker
gray
specs
in
his
eyes
and
every
individual
hair
of
his
rough
beard. The lines of tension had eased from his face, but he was
frowning.

“It’s
not me,” she
added.

“No.”

“I’ve
had lousy
lovers.”

What’s more, she probably hadn’t wanted them, not really, not
the way she
should have, not the way
she did
Rex.

“Yeah,
you probably have,” he
muttered.

Lanie
gasped as he leveraged
himself up, his jaw flexed tight as he withdrew
from
her
body.
She
couldn’t
drag
her
gaze
away
as
he
got
off
the
bed,
even
if
she’d
wanted
to. If she thought the front of him was impressive, that was nothing to the
broad expanse
of
his
back,
his
spectacular
ass,
the
muscles
flexing
and
sliding
as
he
walked.
She
swallowed. And there it was, the tattoo—an eagle—its wings spread wide
covering most of the back of his right
shoulder.

He gave her a quick glance before he strode into the
bathroom. He didn’t close
the door,
but
it
felt
as
if
he’d
put
a
wall
between
them
all
the
same.
She
heard
the
shower
turn
on.

She
sucked. She’d totally sucked at
it.

She hadn’t done any of the things to him she’d wanted to and
after all the
pleasure he
given
her—unselfishly—she
hadn’t
even
touched
him
back,
not
even
once.
Her
ex had always said—
No
.
No, no,
no
. She wasn’t going there.
Another promise.
She
wasn’t going to let all that
affect her anymore. She’d put it all behind
her.

The
old
Lanie
would
have
taken
his
actions
as
a
rejection
plain
and
simple
and
hightailed
it out of there as fast as she
could. Actually, the old
Lanie
would
have probably already left. She would have
resigned herself forever to lube and
fantasizing.
But not the new
Lanie
.
She
took a deep breath. Nope. The new
Lanie
would be
damned if
she’d
let
it
end
like
this.
The
new
Lanie
wanted
to
know
what
the
hell
his
problem
was and if he’d be willing to give her a second
chance.

Rex
stood
with
his
head
bowed
under
the
steaming
water,
directing
it
right
at
the
base of his skull where the ache had started. Now it’d spread to his chest and
he
didn’t think hot, scorching water
could do anything about
that.

He
was
still
shaky.
He’d
never
trembled
before,
not
after
sex,
but
he
felt
it
now
along
his
limbs,
deep
in
his
muscles
and
even
in
his
fingers
as
he
stood
with
his
hands
braced against the tile. Christ, she’d turned him inside out with the
pleasure.

This
is
not
how
he’d
planned
it,
how
he’d
anticipated
this
going
down.
For
a
start
he’d
had
more
patience,
a
hell
of
a
lot
more
finesse
and
he’d
made
it
last
hours,
not fucking
minutes.

Dammit
.

He’d
known
it’d
be
hot
and
wild,
but
it
hadn’t
been
the
way
he’d
imagined
with
Lanie
at all. It was more, so much more
and while he stood in here like an idiot, she
was probably already
gone.

He
shook
his
head.
And
he
was
still
hard.
It
would
have
been
hard
to
miss.
With the
way
he
was
standing
he
was
looking
right
at
it.
When
was
the
last
time
that
had
happened? It was almost as if it was taunting
him.
