"You want another drink?" Jake asked, breaking me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah, sure, I'll come with you," I said as I tried to avoid Aiden's gaze.
"Not offering anyone else then?" Aiden asked Jake with a straight face.
"Sorry dude, you all looked kind of busy," Jake joked.
"Whatever," Aiden said, turning back to
Trixy
.
That was rude.
"Hey, just ignore him. Crystal said that he's been having mood swings for the past few days," I said as I walked to the counter with Jake.
"It's cool, I know what's up with him anyway," he said as we stopped at the counter.
"You do?"
"Yeah him and that Cayce finished, didn't they. I think he must have really liked her but I don't mention it," he said.
If only you knew.
"Yeah," I said as I leaned against the counter so that I could catch a glimpse of
Trixy
and Aiden.
I wasn't too impressed when I saw her stroking his face and making some stupid joke. He also seemed to be enjoying the attention a little too much. I knew that I couldn't hide my expression in front of Jake and I needed to get away.
"Hey, you order the drinks, I'm just going to the restroom," I said, already making my way there.
"Oh, ok, what do you want?"
"Surprise me," I said as I speed off in the direction of the ladies.
I slammed through the double doors in search of the stupid little sign that told me that it was the ladies. Once I spotted it, I slammed through that door too. When I realised that no one else was in there, I let out a frustrated scream. This was not my ideal night! I was so annoyed. I had actually been having a great night with Jake and then along he comes and spoils it all. Who does tha
t
Trixy
girl think she is anyway? She’s out there t
hrowing herself all over him and giggling like a hyena.
ARHHGHHHHHH!
Why did this have to bother me so much?
Aiden wasn't
mine,
in fact it was silly to even think about him in this way. He was Crystal's brother for goodness sakes!
So
,
why was I so bothered every
time that I visualised that silly brunette
’s
stu
pid little fingers all over him?
Right, calm down April, y
ou need to compose yourself. Walk back out there and act normal.
As I walked out
of
the door, I noticed that some tissue paper was stuck to my foot. As I bent down to take it off
of my foot
I fell
,
head first into something. At first I thought that it was a wall but it was soft and when I looked up, I was not impressed with what I saw.
"You really ought to watch where you're walking," he snapped as he helped me up and raised an eyebrow in the air.
"Well,
if you didn't just appear everywh
ere that I went
then I wouldn't need to
watch where I was going would?" I whisper
, shouted back at him.
"I didn't know that you were coming here. Do you actually think that
I'd want to come and watch that?" H
e said.
"Well I don't know what goes on inside that head of yours
, do I?
Maybe this was all a part of some weird plan of yours," I said, knowing that he had no idea that I was here. I was mad, so I didn't care
whether or not it
was the truth right now.
"How desperate do you think I am? Sorry but you're not that irresistible," he snorted back at me.
Was he trying to make me angry?
"Yeah and neither are you, I was having a great time with Jake until you and the rest of sesame street turned up!"
"Wow, you're real mature," he replied.
"Yeah, says the one that ha
s been a total jerk
to his friend since he got here. Do you know that Jake hasn't done a thing to you?
" I said as I felt my cheeks become hotter with every word that rolled off of my tongue.
"Whatever!" He said as he stared me dead in the eyes.
"Yeah, whatever, w
hy don't you go back out there and go
and play with
Flixy
Trixy
some more?
"
"Yeah I will and you can go and massage Jake's hand some more. Why don't you use some oils this time, then you can really set the mood!" He spat back at me.
"Yeah right,
you must be mistaking me for your little piece of meat out there!" I growled as I thought about
Trixy
again.
"Whatever," he grunted.
"Yeah, well what are you waiting for?" I said as I tried to stop my heart from beating so fast.
I watched him stood there, staring at me with the strangest expression on his face and before I even got the chance to throw out another sarcastic comment, his lips crashed into mine as he pushed me back inside of the ladies restroom. As my back banged against the wooden door, it was as if I was oblivious to the pain, I would think about that later. As he kissed me deeper and harder I didn't even care that I was in the diner's restroom or that Jake and the guys were sat outside, I just wanted him. As I felt his hands slide around my waist as my back hit the wall, I let
out a tiny
moan. E
verything about this moment was breath taking. I felt his smile against my lips and it felt amazing. I didn't want this
moment to end. I
t was
like I was supposed to do this.
I
t felt right and so natural. I almost dragged him back as he pulled away from me.
"April," he whispered.
"What?" I asked, wondering why he had to talk.
“I have to tell you something,” he said as he took a step back so that he could look me in the eyes.
I don’t know why but my stomach dropped. This night was already crazy enough, so what now?
"You've got tissue paper stuck on your shoe," he said as he burst out laughing.
"You're such a jerk," I said as I hit him playfully on the arm.
"I know," he said as he gently grabbed the middle of my tank top and pulled me towards him.
This kiss was slower than the last one but equally amazing and I didn't miss the feeling that his fingers gave me as they traced the shape of my spine. To say that kissing Aiden was good was a co
mplete understatement. I
love
d
Kyle and not one kiss felt even close to this. This was different
,
it was-
Suddenly the sound of voices caused me to drag Aiden into one of the empty cubicles, shut the door and take a deep breath. I recognised the voices instantly, it was
Trixy
and Kelly, oh great.
"Oh, these shoes
are killing my feet," Kelly said.
"Mine too
and it's so hot in this diner."
"I know
, right. N
ot that you will have to worry about that for much longer," Kelly replied.
"What do you mean?"
Trixy
asked.
"Well Aiden's practically undressing you with his eyes, it shouldn't take much for you two to hook up tonight," she said as they both burst out laughing.
"You noticed that too?
"
"Of course
I did
and I h
ave some plans for Anthony too."
"Won't this be like the tenth time that you two have hooked up?"
Trixy
asked.
"Yep and it gets better each time," Kelly replied as they started to giggle again.
"Anyway let's go, we might bump into Aiden on the way out,"
Trixy
said before they walked out the door, laughing.
Once I knew that the coast was clear I slammed out of the cubicle and headed towards the door.
"Hey," Aiden said as he gently grabbed my arm.
"What?" I ask in a frustrated tone.
"What's up?" He asked in a confused tone.
"Nothing," I lied.
"I know when you're lying April," He said as he raised one eyebrow at me.
"I'm fine, just go, you might catch up with your little fan
club
on the way out," I mumbled.
"Seriously?
You're jealous of her? You have no idea do you?" He said as he began to smile at me.
"I'm not jealous," I lied.
"You are," he said with a smirk on his face.
"I'm not! Look this just isn't good, every time we get close, someone walks in or we have to sneak around. It's not fair, I'm supposed to be on a d
ate with Jake,
he's
your friend. D
oesn't that at least make you feel bad?" I asked.
"Yeah but-"
"But nothing.
I can't do this, it's wrong and you know it just as much as I do," I said before walking out of the door and heading back into the diner.
As much as it killed me to say that to Aiden after what was the best moment in my life, I had to. We were being selfish and every time that we did this, we didn't even think about all
of
the other people that were involved. Jake had been nothing but sweet to me tonight and he didn't deserve that.
"Hey," Jake said as I walked up to the table.
"Hey, can we go? I'm not feeling too good," I said.
“What about your drink?” He asked.
“Anyone want this?” I said, holding the glass of what looked like lemonade up in the air. I hate lemonade.
“Yeah, sweet,” Taise said as he practically dragged the glass out of my hand.
“Now can we go?” I said, turning to face Jake.
"Yeah, sure.
Guys
,
we're off, April doesn't feel too good," he said as he stood up and came to stand next to me.
"Yeah, cool. Hope you feel better soon," Anthony said, looking up at me.
After a couple of minutes of goodbyes and it was nice meeting you, we were out the door and in Jake's truck. I didn't look back to see if Aiden was there, I couldn't.
Riding home with Jake was awkward and all I could think about was Aiden anyway. I could still taste him on my lips and smell him on my clothes and I was ashamed to say that liked it.
"You, cold?"
Jake asked.
"No, I'm good," I replied.
"Hope it wasn't the date that made you feel ill," he said with a smile on his face.
