The look of sadness in his eyes nearly broke her heart. But he mustered a wan smile and said. “Of course. You know where to find me.”

“Thank you. I’ll let you know as soon as I do know. Ok?”

Nodding he led her to the door. Giving her one last kiss, he opened it.

“Good night Mila.”

“Good night Marty.”

When Mila got to her car, she saw a slew of missed phone calls, voicemails, and texts from Charles and Carly. She deleted them all without even listening or reading them. What they did tonight was unforgivable.

When Mila was younger, she had watched her mother deal with her father’s cheating and the pain her mother went through; Mila would not do that to herself. Not even for Charles. She loved him, but she would not make the same mistakes her mother did.

She was thinking about what Marty said to her tonight. She didn’t know what to do. To herself, she admitted that with Marty’s explanation about leaving, a lot of the resentment that she had for him for the past couple of years was going away. Maybe, she thought, maybe...

Three weeks after the kiss, Mila called her mother and asked her to come right away.

“Hey mom.” She smiled tiredly as she opened the door. “Thanks for coming. How’s your day going?”

“Mila, tell me what’s going on. You tell me to come over right away so we can talk, not to ask about my day. Out with it.” Her mother said.

Sitting down on the couch, Mila motioned for her mom to follow her. When both were sitting she looked at her mom.

“Mom a lot has happened to me in the last couple of weeks. With Charles and Marty and everything. At first I didn’t know what to do it was so overwhelming. I mean I’m only nineteen years old and this was a lot to deal with.”

She took a deep breath and continued. “I talked to Marty. He told me why he left and why he couldn’t come back until now. He asked for my forgiveness, and I gave it to him. He was--no is--my best friend, and I want to go back to that.”

“What about Charles?”

Mila's face hardened. “Charles and Carly are both out of my life. He cheated on me, and once is enough for me. Carly called crying once last week, but I told her I meant what I said that night. If she could step outside our friendship and do something like that to me, she wasn’t my friend to begin with. I don’t need either of them. This leaves me with one final thing.

Her mother looked at her daughter but remained silent.

“Marty asked me to go to Toronto with him. Not permanently, but for a trip to visit his mom and dad, and his new home. I am thinking about going. Besides you, mom, there is nothing at the moment stopping me from going, and I want to see if I can become friends with him again after all that happened. What do you think?”

“Seems like you have given this a lot of thought.”

“I have mom. And I want to know if you're ok with it.”

Her mother took her hand. “Mila, sweetie, you are an adult now. I can't stop you even if I tried. If

this
is something you want, then you'll have to go get it yourself.”

Mila pulled her mother into her arms and held to her tightly. Her heart drummed a thousand beats a second, and for a moment she was sixteen again on the porch swing with Marty next to her. There were so many things she wanted to say to him, so many things and all the time in the world to say to him.

“So how do you like it so far?” Marty asked Mila as snowflakes floated in the cold Canadian air. He had spent the last week taking her to every beautiful sight and place in Toronto that he could think of. He hadn’t yet taken her to the compound. He wanted her to be comfortable before she went, and prepare her for what she would encounter when she finally went inside.

“I love it Marty.” She hugged him. “It's so beautiful here. Cold, but beautiful.”

“After lunch I’ve arranged for us to go and meet the Alphas, Ira and Evelyn. Remember to just be yourself. They're important people, but they are just that. People, okay?”

He had also spent some of the time teaching her little things about pack life, what ranks were, who was above who. He knew she would be fine, but he did sense that she was nervous.

“You’ll be fine Mila, I promise.”

She nodded but her nerves were still all over the place. She still didn’t even know if she wanted this, but she would at least see a glimpse of it all.

Later that day, she rode in the passenger side of an SUV that Marty said belonged to the pack. He owned a car, but he had arranged for this one to be waiting for them.

She snuggled against him when the compound’s buildings started appearing in the distance. They were deep into the woods—so secluded that you'd never know it was here unless you knew to look for it.

About an hour later, after a ride filled with tidbits of information about the pack on how long they had been around, what they owned, and things like that, the SUV pulled up before a large house. It was an estate, but with a homier feel to it. The front door opened, and a young looking couple came out. Marty bowed his head and rushed to follow as she remembered this was a form of respect.

“Alphas, may I introduce Mila Santinni. Mila, this is Alpha Ira and Madame Alpha Evelyn.”

Mila bowed. “It’s nice to meet you excellencies.”

Laughter erupted in the air. “Has Marty been filling your head with nonsense? Call me Evelyn.”

She grabbed Mila and pulled her up the walkway to the door before they disappeared inside the house. Mila didn’t see much of Marty for the next few days.

Mila loved it here. And she loved pack life. It so carefree and family orientated. She had seen Marty’s mom and dad the first day they were there. They had a big dinner at Marty’s parents’ house, and it was lovely.

At first she was a little reserved because of how new all this was, and she knew these people could turn into wolves at any given moment. But they had accepted her and enveloped her as soon as she got there.

She had been there two weeks so far, and she found that they were just like everyone else she knew, if not kinder.

She was walking to the main house to go visit the Alphas new daughters. The babies were beautiful, and she loved to play with the twins.

When she walked in, Marty was there talking to the Alpha. He turned and looked at her with a smile that went straight to her toes. And that scent—it hit her in such an overwhelmingly strong wave that it almost knocked her down.

“Hey.”

“Hey yourself.”

“I was coming to play with the babies, but I wanted to talk to you too. Do you have time?”

“For you, always.”

They walked over to the table. Sitting down she look him straight in his eyes.

“Marty, I've made my decision.”

“And?”

She squeezed his arm. “I'm staying.”

Marty smiled at her so brightly that the world could be plunged into darkness and Mila would still be able to see. “You know what you’re saying right? You’re sure?”

His happiness was infectious and she started smiling too. “Yes, I’m sure, Marty.”

Marty let out a loud shout and grabbed her up and swung her in a wide circle. He kissed her and set her on her feet.

“You have made me so happy. I promise I won’t leave you ever again or ever keep anything from you. I love you Mila. Forever.”

Mila stepped out of the bathroom in her lingerie. The soft light from the lamp on the nightstand made her look like she was glowing.

“Come here beautiful.” Marty said.

Mila walked slowly to the bed, nervous for some reason. As soon as she touched Marty, she relaxed. He was looking at her like she was the most beautiful person in the world.

He kissed her slowly. It was so soft and sweet it made her toes curl. He deepened the kiss and she felt his urgency took over. For a moment, she felt his wolf as well, eager to claim her as their mate.

Laying Mila down on the bed, he kissed her, sucking on her lips and tongue. Going to her neck, he licked
the spot where his mating mark would soon be.

Mila began to moan. The smell of Marty intensified her arousal. He worked his way to her breast and lapped at each nipple before nibbling on the raised tips.

Mila squirmed, grinding her hips against the erection straining at his pants. Abandoning her breast, he positioned his shoulders between her thighs and began his feast. He devoured her pussy, licking and sucking his way up and down her slit. Every once in a while, his tongue probed past the lips to tease out the nectar deeper within.

“Oooh that feels so good. Mmm.”

Mila had never felt this way. Marty made her feel on top of the world. His lips closed on her clit and he began to suck. She wrapped her fingers in his hair and pulled him closer, begging for more. And he was more than happy to deliver, taking her to dizzying heights. Wave after wave of pleasure hit her and Marty continued to dwell at the V of her thighs as aftershocks rippled.

Riding the last waves, she felt the bed shift, and Marty was between her legs ready to enter her.

“You ready?”

“Always.” She stared him in the eyes.

His wolf would wait no longer. Plunging deep with one thrust, he buried himself inside his mate. Nothing had ever felt so right. Setting a slow pace, he grounded his hips against her wet womanhood. Her nectar made each motion smooth. When he plunged deep to the hilt, she cried out his name and dug her nails into his back. He dipped his head and took her nipple into his mouth sucking hard as he drove deeper and deeper.

And suddenly she could hear Marty's wolf, howling even in the back of her own mind.
Claim her!
It howled.
Claim her now!

Yes, Marty, claim me. I'm yours, and you're mine. Forever and ever.

Flipping her over, Marty pound into her from the back. Kissing her up and down her back.

Each thrust fanned the flames of pleasure and when Mila felt his already large cock grow larger inside of her, Mila cried out in pleasure. Arching her back even more she cried his name over and over again. She knew it time when he grabbed her hair and pulled her back against him still pumping into her.

Reaching back, she held on as best she could as his teeth sank down into her flesh. There was pain but just knowing what it was he was doing, made her fall over the edge, and it was bliss as she rode the waves while warmth pooled and gushed between her legs.

***

Marty latched on to her neck and bit deep. The taste of her blood was heaven. His mouth flooded with lavender and honey. Letting the bite go he licked the wound to stop the blood flow, and continued to pump hard into his mate.

Shifting back to his human form, he knew he was near his release. Grabbing her hips hard he pushed deep and spilled his seed inside her.

Keeping them close, he settled them down onto the bed, panting. “You are mine. Forever and always.”

“Yes. Forever. I love you Marty. I always have.” Mila closed her eyes and turned around for a kiss.

“I guess we better get busy.”

“Doing what?”

“Mate. What else?” He nibbled her shoulder and sniffed her fragrance deeply again.

Mila couldn’t help but laugh as Marty's breath tickled her neck and shoulders. “What did I get myself into?”
