Chapter Thirteen
The club was
incredible and Roman was right, the VIP section was certainly something to see,
impeccably designed and decorated in deep plums with low lighting and smoky
mirrors. It was seductive and classy with high end furnishings and a bar that
curved the entire length of the diamond encrusted dance floor. The lights from
the small flecks bounced across the walls, and I’d remember this place for future
events. It was unusual and distinctive and a waitress in a tasteful cocktail
dress had delivered Cristal on ice before we’d even taken our seats.
Apparently tonight
was quiet, which only reinforced the fact that this must be one of London’s
more happening new venues. The club below was bouncing with bodies and from our
prime spot, with an incredible view of everything, it looked as though Roman’s
friend was keen to impress. Either that or he wanted the association with Tyler
Hunter, whose new found celebrity was already getting him some serious
attention. As the other lone male in the group, so was Charlie.
Roman grabbed my
hand and my glass, leading me to the bar where a giant of a man was leaning
casually against the curved, polished wood in a five thousand pound suit,
grinning broadly. He was built like Roman and there was an air about him that
suggested military. I couldn’t place exactly what it was, but it seemed to me
as obvious as the nose that was broken across his face.
Roman released my
hand as the two embraced like brothers, warm smiles reflecting a bond that was
close and genuine. “A.K. meet Chastity Evangelista,” Roman said as he flashed
his eyebrows, casting his friend a quick glance before taking my outstretched
hand.
“Pleased to meet
you, A.K?” I said, betraying my curiosity at the odd name as he laughed.
“Does she have
security clearance,” he grinned at Roman as he nodded, leaning in to whisper to
me, “Weapon of choice.” I knew it.
Roman spoke
quietly to his friend. I couldn’t make out the words, trying to get a better
glimpse of whatever he was taking from A.K. and I wondered what the hell that
was all about. I couldn’t see what it was, hoping that they wouldn’t continue
to exclude me from the conversation. I decided to take matters into my own
hands.
“So how do you two
know each other then?” I asked as Roman laughed.
“A gentleman never
tells, babe,” he smiled.
“Well you’re no
gent, so that rules you out of that particular get out clause. Now spill,” I
smiled as A.K. laughed.
“It looks like you
might have met your match, brother,” he grinned as Roman nodded.
“Damn right. We
met in Afghanistan. A.K. was trying to tickle the Taliban into submission and I
had to save his arse,” Roman laughed as A.K. shook his head.
“Not quite how I
remember it. That shrapnel clearly did more damage than I thought.”
“Be careful,”
Roman growled with a distinct humour in his voice as A.K. glanced across at our
booth.
“How’s the young
one doing?” he asked as I turned to see Tyler with three women, all of whom
looked like they were ready to pounce.
“He’s making the
most of his new found celebrity status, as you can see.”
“I wonder which
one of those he’ll take home. If he’s anything like his brother, he’ll take all
of them. I never met another man who can get three beautiful women naked in his
room in ten minutes flat, without so much as buying them a drink,” he laughed
as Roman glowered at him.
‘Okaaaay’ I thought, not particularly wanting
to hear about Roman’s past conquests, looking towards the booth as Charlie
caught my eye, smiling as he rose and walked towards us.
“It’s a nice
place, isn’t it, Chas?” he asked, clearly trying for a neutral conversation,
but I was grateful of the distraction.
“It’s beautiful,”
I replied, seeing A.K. move away in my peripheral vision, caught in a rather
awkward moment, sandwiched between Charlie and Roman. I sipped my champagne and
groaned audibly as I looked up to see none other than Brad Johnson striding
towards me and looking none too happy.
“Charlie,” he
nodded, glancing briefly at Roman before setting his gaze firmly on me. “Aren’t
you just the funny little prick tease?” he said, staring at me as I felt the
two men tense beside me. Jesus, any more aggravation was the last thing we
needed.
“Yeah, I think I am,” I quipped, taking
another sip on my drink as Brad put his hand on my arm. Oh no, bad move.
“The leap year
trick was a cute little stunt, Chas, but you do know that eventually you’ll be
down on your knees and my victory will be all the sweeter for it,” he grinned
as I closed my eyes and in a split second it had happened. I didn’t even feel
him move, but I heard his fist connect, recoiling backwards.
Brad regained his
balance, striking back as Roman ducked, before another five bodies were on him
and Charlie was in there. There were fists flying, the cracking sound of
knuckles on bone, a mass of limbs, flesh, blood and noise as Tyler ran,
catching Brads friend with a banging uppercut that sent him stumbling. “For
fucks sake,” I heard Lucas mutter beside me, wading into the group. I wondered
for a second whether he was there to break it up, until I saw him take a punch,
landing three back and deciding he wasn’t.
I was scanning the
room, searching for A.K. and his team of security, thanking the Gods of sense
as they ran to the edge of the area to break up the fight, until A.K. held his
hand up to stop them, grinning broadly.
Jess was screaming
hysterically, but her voice was barely audible above the music, the cries and
the deafening sound of the punches. One by one people were inching away,
retreating from the fight until only the Hunter brothers were left standing.
As Roman turned,
my breath hitched at the sight of blood on his knuckles and his face. I should
have been angry, but all that overwhelmed me was concern and the desire to know
that he was okay. It shouldn’t have been, but it was, until I saw the smile on
his face and I knew instantly in some sick, twisted way that Roman Hunter had
actually enjoyed that.
Lucas broke away
first, moving to Jess and trying to soothe her, pulling her onto his lap and
making sure she was alright. Tyler was buzzing with adrenaline and so was
Charlie, walking to the bar and ordering two shots. “Fucking Hell, Charlie,
it’s a long time since we’ve done that,” Tyler grinned and Charlie was grinning
too.
“What the hell is
wrong with you,” I snapped, but neither heard, turning instead to the three
women who’d been talking to Tyler before the fight. They’d been joined by a
couple more who were obviously pinning their hopes on a hook up with Charlie.
“Well that was
fucking juvenile,” I snapped at Roman as he moved in front of me, softening as
he smiled and I noticed again the blood that was covering his cheek and his
knuckles.
“I was defending
my girl’s honour,” he winked and the words warmed me from the inside out. I was
annoyed about the fight, but ‘
my girl’?
They
were not the kind of words I ever expected to hear from Roman and they melted
me, breaking through my anger as I took his hand in mine.
“We need to get
you cleaned up. Are you hurt?” I asked, but he didn’t answer, leading me by my
hand down a dark corridor at the back of the VIP area, swiping a card and
pulling me inside what looked like an office. “What are you doing?” I was
confused as he moved away to the sink, washing his hands with soapy water and
cleaning the blood from his face.
“You said we
needed to clean me up, so here we are, cleaning me up,” he turned, smirking at
me as I narrowed my eyes. He dried himself down, striding across to me as I
backed up, my arse hitting a desk as I stopped and looked up. His eyes were
blazing and I knew without question that Roman had other ideas on his mind.
“Are you hurt?” I
asked again as he smiled, shaking his head. “The blood?” I gasped, looking up
at his handsome face then back at his reddened knuckles.
“Someone else’s,”
he grinned as I pursed my lips, trying to stifle my smile. “So you brought me
back here for what? So you could fuck me in a nightclub?”
“Yep,” he said,
without apology, nuzzling my neck with his full soft lips as my head tipped
back of its own accord before I could even argue.
“Roman I’m not
doing this, not here. I’m pissed that you fought and I thought you were
hurt...” I started as he enveloped my lips with a kiss every bit as strong as
the punches I’d seen on that dance floor and my knees weakened. He pulled back,
running his hands up my thighs as he held my gaze.
“If you thought I
could wait all night for you, baby, then you shouldn’t have worn this dress.
I’ve spent the last hour trying to figure out where the underwear goes, but the
distinct lack of lines suggests you’re not wearing any,” he said as I caught my
breath, hands weaving across the fabric of my arse, before tentatively playing
with the zip at the base of my spine. If that came down, I was naked.
His breath was
ragged and the tenting in his pants was undeniable. I moaned as he ground his
solid erection against me, pushing into me and unleashing that burning need
between my thighs. “One thing you should know, sweetheart,” he whispered
between soft, chaste kisses. “You fuck with my senses and turn me on like no
one I’ve ever known,” he said as my breath caught, and that warmth engulfed me
once again. “And violence turns me on. So you, a fight over you, that dress and
your lack of panties, baby, is just about the sexiest, horniest fucking
combination I’ve ever come across.”
He ground against
me again as if to prove his point as my legs slid apart involuntarily, his
mouth buried in the sensitive curve of my neck. Electrical shivers scattered
across my skin in a blissful explosion that I was powerless to resist. It was
wrong, this was wrong, but at this moment I didn’t care, discarding my rules as
quickly as I’d discarded my list. Roman Hunter had me in his grasp and I didn’t
want him to let go.
I felt the zipper
slide down as he pulled off the dress with a simple tug on each sleeve, gasping
and groaning in sheer pleasure as his gaze swept across my exposed flesh, eyes
dark and intense as he unzipped his pants, pulling me towards him and crushing
my will with an incredible kiss. I no longer cared it was A.K.’s desk, I only
cared about him, my burning need matching his own as he rolled on a condom and
plunged inside me.
I wrapped my legs
tightly around his waist as he buried himself deeper and deeper. He was regulating
his movements, trying to slow things down and I could see from his tormented
expression that the self control was killing him. I wanted him to let go, to
unleash that testosterone that was raging inside him as I held his cloudy gaze,
biting his full bottom lip.
“Harder,” I moaned
and it was the only encouragement he needed, pounding into me with such force that
I grabbed the desk for support, sending papers flying as he rocked me against
it, his hard shaft stimulating every inch of my insides as familiar waves of
pleasure began to unfurl.
“Fuck, Chas,
you’re beautiful,” he shouted, a low rumble deep in his throat betraying his
desire as my body clenched around him, tightening its grip on his pulsing cock.
He was moaning loudly as I shouted his name, beginning to unravel cell by
glorious cell, pulling him, harder tighter and deeper. Our bodies were
blissfully merged on the brink of release. “Come for me, baby,” he growled and
that was all it took. I was over the precipice and so was he, panting and
gasping and finally satisfied.
We gripped each
other tightly, neither wanting to move, but bask in the afterglow of just how
incredibly intense that had been. It was special, but everything was special
with Roman. I mentally slapped myself, pulling away and reminding myself he
wasn’t for keeps as the warm knot he’d created inside me began to disperse.
“That was...” he
said, still catching his breath.
“Yes it was,” I
said as he smiled, taking my hand and leading me over to the wash basin on the
wall. He removed a small white cloth from its cellophane wrapping before
running it through the warm water and placing it between my legs as I gasped,
flushing at the intimacy of the act.
His hands were
soft as they moved front to back and across my thighs. “I can’t let you go out
there with the scent of sex on you, sweetheart. You’re not wearing panties and
men are like animals. One hint of that intoxicating odour and I’ll be fighting them
off all night,” he said, kissing me lightly as he swept the cloth between my
legs again and my cheeks burned crimson.
He was probably
right. My thighs were slick with moisture and this skirt was short, but no one,
even boyfriends had ever done something as personal as this. I tried to swallow
back the warmth that was growing inside me again.
“You’re beautiful,
baby,” he smiled, kissing me gently as I stood there naked before he dressed me
slowly, kissing his way the length of my spine as he pulled up the zipper.
“We’d better get back before we’re missed,” he said, straightening up the mess on
the desk as he took my hand and led me back to the bar where Tyler and Charlie
were still chatting with the girls.
