I ran for
the phone and dialed Shaun's number. He answered in seconds.

I've been kidnapped, Mae and Boris have me in some place and there is

I wandered

His gruff

The line
went silent as he put together the circumstances and events that

I heard
the footsteps and I tossed the phone back inside the cell where my
daughter stood .

I trotted
back to the room and dislodged Boris’s gun from the holster. I was
going to have to display my ugly side. I waited for them at the door.
Gun pointed and aimed at the first person who would attempt to
