Chapter 1

Andrew Phillips brushed back his long, brown hair, looked out the window and paced around the kitchen. His girlfriend, Vanessa was due to come home from her night out with her friends and she still wasn’t home yet. His suspicions were growing by the day because Vanessa had increased the amount of time that she had been spending away from home claiming that her job as a travel writer was to blame. Every time she’d come home with a fresh excuse that would lead to an argument. Then, the couple would end up having passionate make up sex and all would be forgiven for the time being.

When Andrew felt this way, he would sometimes drive out to the woods and transform to his wolf form and go on a hunt to forget his trouble. It would at least temporarily take his mind off of things. He did the same thing on this night. He drove out to Barker’s Creek Wildlife Management Area and parked his car. Then, he got out, looked around to make certain that there was no one around; and transformed into a mighty, grey wolf. He bounded around in the woods and gave chase to a herd of deer; although he stopped short of making a kill; he just wasn’t feeling it on that particular night. It was as if his declining will to hunt was reflective of his overall mood. He was tired of fighting to keep his relationship with Vanessa alive; but he hung on because he still cared about her and he loved her enough to try and make things work.

Once Vanessa got home, Andrew was already in bed. He pretended to be asleep when she began to undress in front of the mirror in the bedroom; but he noticed that her clothes looked a bit more wrinkled than they were when she left. Her hair seemed to be somewhat of a tangled mess. Also, she smelled faintly of cologne- men’s cologne. She got into her nightgown and lay down beside Andrew. He lay there and debated with himself as to whether or not he should confront Vanessa about her appearance. Finally, he couldn’t help himself, he just came out with his suspicions.

“You’re looking a little disheveled for someone who was just going to a bridge game with her friends,” he said, turning to face her.

“Oh come on, Andrew, knock it off. We got bored with the game so we decided to go out dancing as the night wore on, that’s all,” she said.

“So how do you explain the scent of cologne?” he said.

Vanessa rolled her eyes and got angry, “I just danced with one guy who asked me, that’s all. Nothing happened,” she said, rolling over.

Andrew didn’t know whether to believe her or not; but he was still very angry. He thought about rolling over and going to sleep; but instead he just blurted out the thoughts that had been brewing in his mind.

“You are having an affair, aren’t you Vanessa?” he said.

“What? Are you crazy? Why would I want to do such a thing? I already have everything I want right here with you. I have a muscular, handsome boyfriend and a huge house; and we have all of the money and security we need,” she said.

“So then, why are you spending so much time away from home? I know you travel for a living; but you never used to be gone this much when we first started dating. Jesus, Vanessa, ever since we moved in together I feel like I’m struggling to find time to spend with you,” he said.

“Let me reassure you that things will get better once I’m finished with the book I’m working on. Just a few more weeks and I will home a lot more often. Let me put your mind at ease,” she said as she reached down beneath the covers and put her hand on Andrew’s manhood.

Andrew eyed her for a minute as if he was trying to make up his mind whether he believed her or not. In moments like these, Vanessa would use her allure to change the subject and take his mind off of it. After all, she was gorgeous with her long, brown hair, hazel eyes, and model-like physique. Andrew sighed as his cock rose to prominence in Vanessa’s hands. She cocked an eyebrow suggestively at him; and began to give him a passionate kiss.

“Feeling a little better about things?” she asked him. He didn’t answer; but it was obvious that he was enjoying himself. Soon, Vanessa was mounting him, riding his hard cock slowly as first and then with wild and ruthless abandon. Andrew’s suspicions washed away temporarily in a sea of pleasure. Soon they were switching positions and Andrew was taking her from behind. He thrust into her with angry thrusts as if he were trying to channel his frustration. Vanessa moaned and groaned, taking every one of his aggressive strokes until he finally pulled out and released his frustrations all over her near-perfect ass.

“There,” she said. “All better.” A few minutes later, she turned out the bedside light and went to bed. Andrew rolled over and tried to sleep; but his suspicions began to work their way into his dreams. He dreamed that Vanessa was running in her wolf form with another wolf across an unfamiliar landscape. Then, he saw himself standing there alone watching the couple in his human form. He began to cry out to Vanessa and woke himself up in the process.

Soon, Vanessa was out of town again visiting another destination for her latest book. Andrew got up and got dressed to go into work. He had started a web development company in his twenties called Tech Corp that had grown into a multi-million dollar enterprise that had made him rich. It had gone from one room with three employees to a thriving company with seven floors of offices downtown.

“Good morning, Mr. Phillips,” his secretary said with a smile as he went into his office.

“Morning Felicia,” he said with a smile. He sat down at his large desk and looked through his list of appointments for the day. He noticed that he was due to go to dinner that night with the Johnsons, old friends of the family. They had recently moved to Nashville, so he wanted to reacquaint himself with them. James and Hillary Johnson were wolf shape shifters as well; and had been very close with Andrew’s mother and father. Andrew lost his parents ten years ago in an auto accident; and he hadn’t seen the Johnsons since their funeral. The Johnson’s daughter Emily was a few years younger than Andrew; and she would always follow Andrew around trying to get his attention. When they were growing up, Andrew thought of her like an annoying younger sister that wouldn’t stop bugging him.

The workday ended uneventfully; and Andrew had had a hard time getting his mind off of Vanessa and what she might be up to. He looked at his watch and realized that he was due to meet the Johnsons in just a matter of minutes, so he got his coat and left the office. He went to the Chez Phillipe restaurant and looked around. The Johnsons already had a table and they waved for him to come over and join them. Andrew smiled and shook James and Hillary’s hand. Emily Johnson was hardly recognizable to him. She was now a beautiful woman of twenty-four with strawberry blonde hair; and striking blue eyes, which were kept subdued by her glasses. She wore a modest dress that hid her curves from sight. She was a full-figured, voluptuous woman now; and not the chubby, awkward girl he remembered that used to follow him around.

“So nice to see you all again,” Andrew said as he sat down. Emily blushed slightly as his eyes washed over her. He looked away; but she could not stop staring at him.

“Nice to see you too. It’s hard to believe that it’s been ten years since we’ve seen you,” James said.

“I know, I was only twenty at that time,” Andrew said.

“Too young to lose your parents,” Hillary said sympathetically.

“Well, we are meeting under much better circumstances,” Andrew said.

“You have certainly made a success of yourself in the last decade,” James remarked.

“Yes, things have certainly taken off. I’m so glad that you have decided to move to Nashville. You will be the closest thing I have to family here. There aren’t many of our kind around here,” James said.

“We are aware. Yes, we are looking forward to it as well,” James said.

“I hear that Nashville really has a thriving music scene,” Emily said.

“Yes, there are all kinds of good music going on almost any night of the week, not just country anymore,” Andrew said.

“Well maybe you two could go check some of that night life out some time. You know that Emily is now a talent manager for musicians,” Hillary said anxiously.

“I was not aware of that,” Andrew said with a smile.

“Yes, I’m looking to sign some new artists for Arista,” Emily said as she smiled. “I would love it if you showed me around?” she said. Andrew felt a little awkward. He could tell that the Johnsons were trying to play matchmaker, so he wasn’t sure how to react.

“We could do that,” he said as Emily’s face lit up.

“So, are you currently married?” Hillary finally asked.

“Well, no; but I have been with the same woman for a few years now,” he said. He thought if he took out a picture of Vanessa that they might back down a bit.

“Here’s a picture of her,” he said as he took the photo of Vanessa out of his wallet.

“Well, she certainly is gorgeous,” Hillary said; but Andrew could tell there was a faint hint of disappointment in her voice. Emily fell silent; and the twinkle seemed to go out of her big, beautiful eyes.

“Yes, you will have to meet her sometime. She is a travel writer so she’s out on the road a lot,” Andrew said. After the dinner was over, Andrew told them goodnight. James asked Andrew again if he wouldn’t mind showing Emily some of the night life so that she could check out new musicians. He agreed; and as he left, he noticed that Emily was really checking him out. He still couldn't believe that this gorgeous young woman was the same Emily he remembered.

Chapter 2

Vanessa was out of town yet again; and Andrew couldn’t stop thinking about what she might be up to. He was getting ready to take Emily to the Exit In to show her some of the talented musicians in the area. When he showed up to the Johnson’s house, he was surprised yet again to see how Emily had blossomed. She wore a red dress that showed off some cleavage and high heels. Andrew tried not to stare; but he couldn’t help but drink in her appearance.

“You look quite lovely,” he said, trying to keep his complements on a casual level.

“You look quite handsome yourself,” she said giving him a once-over. They went to the club and waited to listen to a new alt-country band called Dead Soldiers that were due to play. Emily wanted to see if they might be worthy of a deal with Electra records.

“You know I have to say, things have changed a lot since we were kids,” Andrew said, trying to make polite conversation.

“Yes they have. I always had a crush on you back in those days. I should apologize for following you around like a lost puppy,” she said.

“No need,” he said with a smile.

“Thank you so much for coming out with me tonight. I hope your girlfriend doesn’t mind,” she said.

“Oh her, I wouldn’t worry about that. She’s off in Virginia checking out the charm of the mountains. She isn’t worried about what I’m doing. Besides, you’re an old friend of the family; I can’t see why she would object to us hanging out,” he said, putting his hand on hers for a second. As he did this, something passed between them. Andrew couldn’t be certain what is was; but he felt something.

“Well I’m glad that she doesn’t mind. She looks quite gorgeous,” Emily said.

“Yes, well, she is gone so much I could almost forget what she looks like,” he said, shaking his head.

“I’m sorry to hear that she’s gone all of the time,” Emily said.

“Never mind that, let’s try and enjoy ourselves, shall we?” Andrew said. They watched the band and had a couple of drinks. Once the band was done, they got up to leave. Emily looked at her cell phone and saw that it was only ten o’ clock.

“I was wondering,” Emily said when they got to the privacy of the car.

“Is there a place that you can go around here if you’re feeling the urge for the hunt?” she said.

“Yes,” he said. “If you’re feeling like it- I’ll take you there.” Andrew felt like blowing off some steam in his wolf form anyway so he drove her out to the Wildlife Management Area where he liked to blow off steam.

“I’ve never seen another human being out here this time of night, so I think it’s safe enough,” he said.

“Great, I haven’t been on a hunt or even shape shifted since we left Evansville,” she said.

“Well let’s have a go at it then,” Andrew said. Soon he transformed into a mighty wolf with a healthy, shiny coat. Emily transformed into a muscular, lithe wolf and for a second the two animals looked over one another. Andrew turned and ran into the woods and Emily followed close behind. Soon, they were on the trail of a herd of deer and they began to give chase. Andrew was about to pounce on one of the deer at the rear of the herd when suddenly, he heard a shot ring out ahead of him. One of the deer at the front of the herd suddenly fell to the ground. Andrew looked at Emily for a second and then turned around to run back towards the car. She followed close behind them.

Once they got back to the car, Andrew and Emily transformed back into their human forms. He caught a quick glance of her standing naked in the moonlight; and he couldn’t help but take in the vision. She too let her eyes wash over his muscular chest and down for a second at his crotch. Then, she quickly looked away. Once they were both dressed again, they got in the car and sped away.

“Whew, that was a close one,” he said. “All of the times I’ve been out here, I never encountered any night hunters. I will have to be more careful I see,” he said.

“Yes; but it felt good to transform. Like I said, it’s been a while,” she said. Andrew smiled at her, thinking about how gorgeous her eyes looked; then he quickly looked away. He drove her home.

“Thanks for a lovely night,” she said.

“No thank you,” he said as she got out of the car. He watched to make sure she got in the house safely. Once he got home, he thought about their evening together and how pleasant it was. She had made him forget his unhealthy relationship for a while. As a matter of act, he didn’t have the usual unpleasant paranoid feelings that night that he usually felt when Vanessa was out of town.
