"You're an alpha?" Wesley asked,
finally lifting up to look over his shoulder.

Ryan shrugged. "I didn't…think so."
But by werewolf standards he was still kind of young. There were other born
alphas in the pack, but the ones he knew had apparently sensed they were
different to other werewolves long before his age.

"Oh fuck," Wesley groaned,
suddenly convulsing in Ryan's embrace. He didn't know what was happening until
the smell of fresh spunk reached his nose.

He gentled his lover through the orgasm,
smiling when he realized his cock must have been pressing against Wesley's
prostate. He rolled them carefully onto their sides and held his exhausted mate
close, just breathing with him as their arousal seemed to ebb and flow between
them. A few moments later his lover shivered, groaned, and came again in his
arms.

"See, baby," Ryan whispered as he
rocked them together, not really moving his cock inside Wesley's ass, but
sliding their bodies against each other as arousal wound them higher once more.
"We were made for each other."

Wesley nodded, lifting his hand up and
behind him to rest it at the back of Ryan's neck. "I'm still glad I stayed
away though," he said tiredly, breathlessly. "I wanted more for you
than just me."

"Baby, now that I know you're my mate
and know how incredible we are together, you'll never keep me away." His
swallowed hard. He had no idea what he'd do if his mate rejected him now.
"Please don't send me away."

Wesley moved under him, twisting his upper
body into an awkward position so that they could see each other clearly.
"I know it's the right thing to do. You're so young. You have so much life
yet to live, but I don't have the strength to push you away. I'm sorry, Ryan,
but you're stuck with me."

Ryan laughed softly. Considering that they
were currently held together by a knot he'd hadn't known he was capable of
producing, they were stuck with each other in more ways than one. But in every
way possible he was happy to be stuck with this man.

"Can I claim you, baby?"

Wesley bit his lips and nodded, but he held
up his hand in a stop sign when Ryan leaned closer.
"On
one condition."

Ryan's wolf side wanted to growl in
frustration, but the human side of him adored his mate for trying to put Ryan's
needs first. Being mates didn't guarantee that they would actually like each
other, but Ryan had no doubt that he was already half in love with this man.
For two and a half decades he'd denied his own needs to protect Ryan from pack
leaders who would have done him harm, and even when Noah had taken over and
made their mating possible, Wesley had chosen to give Ryan a chance to grow and
mature into the man he was now. It was humbling to realize how much his mate
already cared for him.

"Anything," he heard himself say.
"Any condition
but
leaving.
You're mine, Wes, and I'm yours. Whatever your one condition
is, just know that I will claim you the moment you let me."

Wesley actually blushed. Considering the
things they'd just shared between them it was completely adorable.

"I know it's silly," he said with
a shy shrug, "but I always dreamed of you claiming me under the full moon
and in front of the pack."

Ryan grinned. He wanted to leap off the bed,
run to the pack, and
do
that right now, but being
knotted together was a bit of a problem.

"I can wait a month," Ryan said as
he settled down on the pillows and let his tension drain away, "although I
should probably warn you that I plan on fucking you every day until then."
Wesley laughed softly.
"And every day after, for the
rest of our lives.
Is that okay with you?"

"Absolutely," Wesley whispered.

Four
weeks later…

How was it possible that Wesley was nervous
now? Yeah, he'd dreamed of this night for many years, and he'd planned and
fantasized and imagined it so many times that the reality was bound to be
disappointing, but he'd never guessed he'd be nervous.

"You okay, pup?" Maggie asked.

"I'm fine," he lied even as he
watched his lover, soon to be official mated partner, stride across the
clearing on his way to the alpha.

Maggie gave Wesley a knowing smile and
tilted her cheek, demanding a kiss and quick hug.

"He's a lucky man, Wes."

"I'm the lucky one," Wesley said
even as he felt a blush creep up his throat.

"That too," Maggie conceded with a
smile. "I'm very glad to see you happy. I admit to worrying when—"
She cut off her words and gulped in a deep breath. "But that's in the
past." She nodded decisively as if she'd made some sort of decision.
"You're good for each other."

"You should have stayed out of it,
Maggie." Wesley was actually a little surprised that he had the balls to
say such a thing to the matriarch of their pack. Her husband and son might have
treated her poorly, but they'd never tolerated disrespect in Maggie's
direction. Noah wasn't a big fan of it either. Everyone knew Maggie had a heart
of gold, even if her methods were occasionally intrusive.

Wesley opened his mouth to quickly
apologize, but snapped it shut when he realized Maggie was grinning widely.

"Like I said, pup," she said,
reaching up to pat his cheek, "you're good for each other."

"Thank you, Maggie," he whispered.
"I hope I can make Ryan happy."

The elderly woman winked at him slowly.
"You already do."

And then Ryan was moving toward him, the
grin on his face one of pure joy.

"Everything's set," he said,
pulling Wesley into a quick, tight embrace and breathtaking kiss before
releasing him to work on removing his clothes. "Run for me, baby. When I
catch you I plan
to claim you in
front of everyone."

Wesley couldn't stop the wide grin that
curved his lips.

He'd never even thought of that. Werewolves
loved to run, to chase, to conquer, and sometimes even to submit to a stronger
wolf. His wolf half nearly vibrated with excitement. Somehow, even after years
of dreaming of this moment with this man, Ryan had gone and made things more
perfect.

"I love you,
Ry
,"
Wesley said, lifting onto his toes to kiss his lover.

"I love you too, baby." The slap
on his ass shocked him, but as always it aroused him as well. "Now run for
me, Wes, because I definitely want to catch you."

He nodded, grinned at Maggie, and then
changed into his wolf mid-leap—yeah, he'd been practicing—and then ran into the
forest with the man he planned to love for a lifetime hot on his heels. He was
loved and in love and soon to be officially claimed.

Nothing could be more perfect.
