“Oh, I see…this is where my fiancé and mother gang up on me is it!” He smiled ruefully at them
both.

“However I have to agree that you have a point – much as I hate to admit it!”

They arrived back at the cottage, where Agnes appreciated the work he had put in resurfacing the steps with non-slip material.

“Well yes…a bit like closing the barn door after the horse has bolted, I suppose.”
Said an abashed Robert.

“But at least it shouldn’t happen again
!”

“Hmm …talking of horses; maybe you’d better check on Romeo while you’re out here?”

He looked over at Sally. “See what I have to put up with, she is hardly here five minutes; and already she is bossing me around!”

Sally laughed at them both, and helped Agnes along by stating that indeed his life would be an unending misery with two women to keep him on his toes!

Robert wandered off, laughing happily as he went to check on Romeo the Clydesdale, and Sally helped his mother into the warmth of the cottage.

He did not know what the future would bring, but he was fairly certain that things had turned a corner, and with the wedding just 3 months away, there was a lot to prepare if he was to keep his ‘blushing bride’ happy
