“I'm back!”

She slips
the sleeping pills in her pocket and put her other purchases in her suitcase.
Jacob comes out of the bathroom grabs her from behind. She jumps.

“Are you
ok?”

“Yeah.”

She turns
around smiles and kisses him.

“I'm going
to take great care of you tonight.”

He throws on
some lounging clothes before getting in the bed. She puts the ice packs on his
hands.

“Come here.”

"You
should really take it easy," she says.

“Samantha,
come here.”

She sits on his
lap. He looks at her with such love in his eyes.

“I love
you.”

Samantha
smiles. He kisses her over and over again. She can’t resist him.

"Jacob!"

He puts his
finger to her lips.

“Take off
your clothes.

She does
just as she’s told.  She gently places her hands on top of his as she
starts to cry.

“Jacob I
really wish you wouldn’t have done that today.”

"Baby,
it’s going to be fine,” he says grabbing her face as he looks into her eyes.

“I want
you!” she says.

“I want you
too."

Samantha
removes Jacob’s clothes.

She melts in
his arms. Samantha sits on his lap placing her hands on his face kissing his
lips ever so gently as she rides his erection slowly. He rubs and sucks her
breast making her so wet for him. She reaches down taking one hand at a time,
kissing his swollen knuckles.

Jacob kisses
and licks her neck as he runs his hands up her back through her hair. She moans
from the pleasure as her head rests in his hands.

He holds her
hips pushing her up and down slowly until they orgasm. That night their love
making is so passionate. Samantha cries the whole time because she knows she is
leaving later and she doesn’t want to go.

This is the
night she becomes pregnant again with Jacob’s child. She gets up to get drinks.
Samantha puts two sleeping pill in his whiskey. She sips her drink while
watching him drink all of his.  She runs her hand along his face. She
looks at him for a long time.

“Always know
I love you,” she says.

“What?”

“Nothing.”

“I'm so
tired right now,” he says falling off to sleep.

It is 9 p.m.
and she has about an hour to get ready to leave. She lay in the tub crying
feeling sick to her stomach. All she can think about is she has to leave the
love of her life because of Julius.

She is so
unhappy with the decision she’s making but she doesn’t know what else to do.
She packs all of her things including one of Jacob’s shirts.

Samantha
sits down in the living room to make a video with his phone.

Video
Message:

Jacob I want you to know I never meant to
hurt you! This is so hard for me right now. I wanted to spend the rest of my
life with you.  I can’t see being with anyone else let alone being without
you but I have to go!  Julius is a very dangerous man and he will try to
kill me the next chance he gets so because my life is in danger a third time,
its best that I go. This is the second time I’ve had to leave the country.
Please don’t be mad at Nicki.  She knows nothing. She has no idea I'm
leaving. Please know that I love you with all my heart and I can’t live with
myself if something happens to you because of my past. Goodbye Jacob.

Samantha
calls the front desk asking for a 7 a.m. wake up call for Jacob.  She
stands there for a moment watching him sleep then leaves.

Samantha is
in a rush to get out of Vegas. She scurries through the lobby. She waits
anxiously to board the flight.  She just isn’t going to feel safe until
she is on the plane. She keeps watching her surroundings to see if she is being
followed. She dumps her cell in a garbage can.  Once she gets in her seat
and the wheels are up she relaxes falling asleep.

Jacob wakes
up the next day with a headache. He feels like he’s been drugged. He gets up
and goes to the bathroom not knowing anything is wrong.

When he gets
out the shower, he calls Samantha’s name.  He gets dressed and makes sure
his bags are packed.

He wonders -
where is Samantha. He grabs his phone to call her and notices he has a
message.  He starts viewing the video and immediately sits down. Jacob is
so pissed he really doesn’t know how to feel. Nicki knocks on the door. Jacob
answers.

"Are
yawl ready to go?" asks Nicki.

"I'm
ready to go!" says Jacob.

"Jacob
where is Sam?" asks Nicki.

“I don’t
know, she left,” he says passing her his phone to watch the video message.

"Jacob
I'm so sorry!" says Nicki after watching the video.

“I'm ready
to go," says Jacob.

Jacob is
silent all the way to the airport.

"I
don’t have to fly back with you if you want to be alone," says Nicki.

“No, its
ok.”

She sits on
the plane watching the video Samantha left for her: “Nicki I need you to run
the business until I return.”

Jacob
watches the video Samantha left for Nicki.

“It looks
like she is coming back in due time.”

"Jacob
what happened?" Nicki asks.

“I paid
Julius a visit telling him to never attempt to contact Samantha again and I
beat him up. I think that’s what made her leave.”

"Yeah
he is very scary," says Nicki.  “Jacob for a woman it’s
different.  This man put fear in her for 2 years. He beat her all the
time. He pulls her by her hair telling her if she left he’d kill her. Once
someone does that to you it takes a long time to get over.

So imagine
now that this has been rehashed, how she feels. She’s now in instant survival
mode.”

"Thanks
Nicki. But I'm done with her this time for good!"

“Jacob you
don’t mean that!”

"Jackie,"
calls Jacob.

“Yes Sir!”
she says.

“When the
plane lands please ensure Ms. Collins gets off safely.”

He gets up,
goes to the back of the plane and slams the door.

Jacob is
hurt and pissed. He sits on the bed with his face in his hands.

Chapter 14

Samantha
lands at Heathrow Airport. She exchanges her money over to pounds before
checking into her hotel. Sitting in her meager room, Samantha is so upset that
she left, knowing Jacob is probably flipping out and calling her phone. She
sits on her bed just thinking about all the stuff that had happened since she
met Jacob. He is the only guy who has taken the time to really know and take
care of her. She tries hard to think about him having her kidnapped and how his
family tried to kill her, and not focus on how he knows how to satisfy her. But
she knows that Jacob did what he felt was best to protect her, and she knows
she needs this time alone to reflect and to keep him safe. Julius would have
tried to kill them both, so she had to leave. Samantha does her best to take in
the sites of the city and mingle with the people before moving on to Paris.

When she
arrives in Paris, she goes out almost every night to party and hang out with
new people. She meets a very handsome guy named Leo at the club, and they have
been hanging out for a couple of days. He is six-foot-four, with beautiful
brown skin, and he likes her. He walks her back to her hotel room, giving her a
kiss at the door. He asks if he can see her the next day.

"No,
I’m going to Venice in the morning," she says. “It was really nice hanging
out with you. I had a lot of fun; it’s too bad I don’t live here.” Samantha
knows she isn’t ready for a fling; she still has Jacob on her mind.

When she
arrives in Venice, she checks into her room and wants to walk around the city.
She goes to a little coffee shop not far from her hotel. Samantha glances over
at the newsstand only to read the headlines: “Jacob Latters is single again,”
she reads. She continues to read the article: “The actor has been seen around
town with lots of different women, but one in particular that stands out: Amber
Chandler, a gorgeous young model. The two make a beautiful couple,” the paper
reads.

She sees a
picture of the pair leaving a club. Samantha is pissed because Jacob hasn’t
wasted any time starting to date again. She is so upset that she takes her food
back to her room and just lays on the bed in tears.

Meanwhile
Jacob is so upset, he is binge drinking daily. He tries keeping his mind off
Samantha by seeing and having sex with many different women every night. Before
he got home from Vegas, he told his maid to put all of Samantha’s belongings in
one of the spare rooms. He didn’t want to see them. He hung out with Amber a
couple of times and the media took it and ran with it. Yeah, he did have sex
with her a few times more than the other women, but it wasn’t serious. Most
recently, he brings Amber to the house because he is just too drunk to go anywhere
else. They stumble in the front door and start kissing, then she pulls his
pants down, sucking his erection. Jacob pulls her up and says, “Come on.” He
escorts her up to his bedroom to have sex with her.

While they
are having sex, Jacob keeps seeing Samantha. He closes, then opens his eyes and
looks down at Amber, turning her over, doing it to her hard from behind until
he cums. He stumbles to the bathroom to flush the condom, then lays back down
in bed. He is drunk, but not that drunk – he doesn’t ever want what happened
with him and Samantha to happen with another woman.

When Jacob
wakes up the next morning, he hears someone going through his closet.

“Do you have
a shirt I can put on?” asks Amber.

Jacob sits
up. “I actually have to get to work; if you want to take a shower, you can. I
will go down the hall and use one of the guest bathrooms.”

He didn’t
want any reminders of anything Samantha would do. When he enters the first
guest bedroom, he sees everything Samantha: her clothes and pictures of them
together. He is hurt all over again. He goes to take a shower, then heads
downstairs to get a cup of coffee.

Amber enters
the kitchen. "Will I see you again?" asks Amber.

"Sure,"
he says, giving her a kiss on the lips, knowing he wouldn’t. “My driver will
take you home.”

"OK,
then I will talk to you later,” she says with a smile.

Jacob leans
back against the counter waving bye.

He later
fly’s home to Houston to visit his mom. He does a lot of hunting and shooting
targets while he’s there. He even has a talk with his dad, but not about
Samantha, just about sports.

His mom can
see he’s upset.

"Jacob,
how are you doing?" Rebecca asks.

He lies.
“I’m fine.”

"I know
you’re not fine, baby. I just want you to know that sometimes you have to
really stand and fight for what you believe in, even when the other person
doesn't. Make sure you do all you can,” she says, giving her son a hug and a
kiss on the cheek.

Jacob calls
a private investigator to find Samantha. She’s been gone now a little over a
month and has never tried to contact him once.

Samantha
doesn’t do the best job of bringing enough cash. She has to call her mother to
send her money. When she makes that call, the private investigator, Leroy
Putman, is able to track it. Leroy calls Jacob.

“Hello, Mr.
Latters, this is Leroy. I found her – she’s in Venice, Italy. My flight leaves
in a few hours. I will call you with an update when I get there.”

“Alright,”
says Jacob.

Samantha is
sick all the time. Her breasts are sore and she hasn’t gotten her period. She
buys a pregnancy test and it is positive.

She makes an
appointment to see a doctor. She knows it is time to go home because she
doesn’t want to raise this baby alone and feels Jacob should know that she is
having his child. The doctor tells her that because she’s had a miscarriage
less than a year ago, she needs to take it easy.

"Will
you be bringing in the baby’s father for the next appointment?" he
asks.

“No, we
aren’t together,” Samantha replies.

"Sorry to
hear that. I need you to put on some weight; you’re losing too much and you
need to be healthy to carry the baby to term," the doctor
says.

That night
is the hardest to get over Jacob – now she’s carrying his child. She cries
herself to sleep.

Jacob takes
a flight out a day later. He meets Leroy on Friday at a little bistro in the
Village of Venice.

"What
do you have for me?" asks Jacob as he sits down. He is wearing a light
grey suit, a crisp white shirt, a very expensive watch, dark grey leather
loafers and gold-framed sunglasses with a blue tint.

"This
is where she is staying: the Hotel Canal," says Leroy. “Here is the key to
her room.”

“Nice doing
business with you, Leroy,” Jacob says, sliding an envelope across the table.

“Thank you,
Mr. Latters,” Leroy says. “She's not in her room right now, so I’ve set it up
for you to go over now.”

Jacob enters
her room and walks around, looking through Samantha’s belongings. He opens a
drawer and finds a picture of the two of them and one of his shirts. The room
is basic.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Leroy
text Jacob to let him know Samantha is on her way up. Jacob sits in the chair
and waits for her to enter.

On her way
up to her room, Samantha thinks about what she is going to say when she calls
Jacob.

Samantha is
so paranoid; she always uses a thermo sensor to see if anyone is in her room.
To her surprise, someone is inside. She pulls her gun out of her purse and
enters the room slowly. She stands close to the wall, then comes around the
corner fast, gun out in front.

“Jacob, you
scared the shit out of me!” she says.

“What were
you going to do, kill me?” he asks.

“How did you
get in here?”

"That’s
not important. Happy to see you are still alive!" says Jacob.

"Jacob!"

"What?"
Jacob says. “Oh, let me guess – you were going to call me.”

Samantha
sits down on the bed across from him, and Jacob realizes he still loves her.
She looks just as beautiful as the day he met her.

Samantha is
extremely nervous. Jacob looks so handsome and smells so good, I really want to
jump in his arms and make this whole nightmare go away. He looks like a model
out of a magazine ad.

"How
have you been?" asks Samantha.

Jacob
removes his sunglasses, putting them in his inner jacket pocket.

“Fuck that,
Samantha.  Again, you did some really fucked-up shit! You know this shows
me we could never have gotten married, because you can't even stand by my side
or trust that I will keep you safe!”

Jacob stands
up, walking over to the window.

“That’s
fair, Jacob,” she replies.

She walks
towards Jacob. Jacob, I panicked!”

Samantha
starts to cry.

Jacob looks
at her. “Don't give me that shit! I don’t feel sorry for you anymore. Oh, by
the way, I'm seeing other women and fucking them too, if that makes it any more
real for you!” he shouts.

Samantha
looks up at him, her sadness now turning to anger. “Thanks for that, Jacob. You
really know how to get me back, don't you?

The tears
are pouring down her face.

You know
what? Fuck you!" says Samantha.

“Fuck you
too, Samantha!” Jacob paces the room.

"I
fucking hate you!" yells Samantha.

Jacob heads
for the door. She grabs his arm, turning him to look at her.

“I didn’t
mean it, Jacob! How could you hurt me like this?” she ask.

“Hurt you?!
You've been gone over a month, and not so much as a postcard from you. I figure
you really don’t give a shit anymore!” he says.

He walks to
the door.

“Jacob, I’m
pregnant!” she yells out, crying. “See? I really was going to call you. I found
out yesterday that I'm pregnant with your child.”

“Are you
sure it’s mine?”

Samantha now
stands in between him and the door.

“Where's
this shit coming from? I try hard every day to get over you; it’s not easy. I
still love you.” She looks up at him, crying. She grabs his face.

Jacob looks
into her eyes. “If you did, you would never have left!”

He pulls her
from in front of the door.

“I’m staying
at the Westin if you need to take me for all I have in child support. I’ll be
there for another couple of days.”

With that,
Jacob left. Samantha falls on the bed in tears.

Jacob
doesn’t know how to feel about Samantha. She says she loves him but does she
really? He goes to his room and just sits around drinking.

Samantha
later pulls herself together. She puts on the cutest outfit she can find that
doesn't scream, “I'm trying to screw you,” but of course makes her
irresistible. She arrives at his hotel room. Knock! Knock!

“Who is it?”

Samantha
doesn’t say anything until he asks again.

“It’s
Samantha.”

“Go away!”

“Jacob, we
need to talk.”

He opens the
door and walks away.

She walks
inside, putting her purse on the table. He sits back down on the couch,
continuing to drink his whiskey.

“I would ask
you if you want something to drink, but I guess that's a no,” he says.

Samantha
sits on the couch not far from him. He keeps watching TV. She grabs the remote,
turning it off, and moves closer to him, grabbing his face, telling him to look
at her.

“Jacob, I
really don’t give a fuck how many bitches you fucked because don’t none of them
mean shit. If they did, you wouldn’t be here with me!”

She kisses
him. He grabs her arms, pushing her back.

“Jacob you
don’t want me?”

“No, I
don’t.”

She kisses
him again. He is only lying to himself, and she knows it. She sits on his lap
looking into his eyes, then slowly kisses his neck, making him want her.

“You still
don’t want me?” she asks.

“No!”

She kisses
his lips as she grabs between his legs, then pulls away. “Ok, you don’t want
me,” she says.

She looks
into his watering eyes. He grabs her face. Breathing hard, he kisses her lips
hard, pulling her dress up, sliding his hands down the back of her panties,
then he stops.

“No.
Samantha, no! I'm not going back on the roller coaster ride with you!” He picks
her up, sitting her on the couch. He stands up, walking away from her.

“Every time
I have sex with you, it clouds my judgment!”

“Jacob, I
love you!”

“Samantha,
if you loved me, we would be looking for our new house and raising this child
together,” he says, looking at her from across the room. “You know what, just
get the fuck out!”

“Jacob, I
love you and I don’t want to let you go.” She walks toward him, standing in
front of him.

“Well, it’s
too late – you already did.”

He chokes
back the tears as he runs his hand through his hair.

"Get out,
Samantha," he says in a low voice.

“I get it! I
fucked up again! I'm leaving. Oh, and by the way, I don’t want your money. I
can afford to take care of our child myself. I will never deny you the right to
see your child. I'm going back to Atlanta in a few days. Just know you are the
love of my life,” she cries. “Have a wonderful life!” she says, slamming the
door behind her.
